The Gawler Arms Hotel

Went to Gawler Arms yesterday for lunch. Had my grandsons with me, so sat in the kids play area. I was very impressed. The play area(s) are set out really well. Great food & great atmosphere. Staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. I highly recommend this pub as a place to go.

Love the refurbishment! Excellent meal lovely salad and vege bar. Wonderful to actually have a pub meal. Service was second to none as always. Thank you we will be back!!

The room was clean and and attractive. Stocked well with amenities and water. The resturant had tasty food with good serving sizes. Will stay here again definitely.

Room was absolutely clean and bed was comfortable definitely didn't wanna leave .

We stayed 1 night and had dinner last night in the Bistro . Dinner was delish , accomodation clean and comfy , staff were very nice and polite . We had a lovely night and can definately recommend .

Good quality pub meals and the staff were very friendly. Recommended.

The service was outstanding, so much that two of my children said we should leave a tip.
I have never had such amazing kind staff serve me in all of my years. I made them aware of a dairy issue and asked for the dairy free options. I was then approached 3 times at our table to let me know the one I chose had dairy so they swapped it for the non dairy, also asking if fryer cross contamination was ok and just general relatable talk of understanding how difficult it can be when having an allergy or intolerance.
They have set the bar and my kids are comparing against other restaurants. They are dying to go back. We'd night dining and bar staff need a raise to keep them.

Brilliant food, many, many choices, upper price range for certain days of the week - Friday, Saturday etc, cheaper during the week, but very much worth it. Salad, vegetables and dessert bar, which is delish, especially their ice-cream machine, the ice-cream tastes amazing. Great cake slices, mousse, and puddings etc.. Slightly noisy, but due to the quality and great value for money, it's very popular, and gets busy, which is understandable. We will always return, as it's just so good!

Decided to go to Schnitzel Night on Tuesdays at Gawler Arms. Fantastic meal. Well worth it. Husband had Beef Schnitzel with gravy and I had Chicken Schnitzel with Hawaiian Topper. The disappointing part was the vegetables served, very poorly cooked or quality. BUT the size of the Schnitzel certainly made up for it and was perfection! Both types. Chips served was quite good too. We also ordered garlic bread which was perfect too. Thoroughly enjoyed the Schnit! Will definitely go again.

I’ve stayed in the accommodation and eaten at the Gawler arms several times. Each time the staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to assist you.
The rooms are very comfortable, clean ,quiet one of the best I’ve stopped in

The meals were so good everyone at our table loved it. Large buffe salad, veg, soup and dessert. i noticed all the meals were bought out at the same time for everyone id seen including us. Not the cheapest place to eat, but the quality and service made it worth every cent. Id come here again no worries. The staff were very polite and they were under the pump the whole time. We ordered surf n turf steaks, garfish, roast of the day, garlic bread etc.

Had lunch , quick service , very helpful staff , linguine marinara , absolutely delicious , plenty of prawns and calamari , lasagne was delicious too .

Wonderful to see a pub offering such variety & quality! The chicken asparagus dish was the best pub meal I've ever had!! Staff were friendly & efficient. Can't wait to go back there! Thank you for a fab meal!!🍛😊

Ordered for three. Food come in a timely fashion and was cooked perfectly. Plenty of toys and fun things for the kids to do also. Will definitely consider coming back.

Good food and not too expensive. Was fairly quick, despite being the middle of the lunch rush. It did look very busy, so don't be surprised if it takes a bit long sometimes. Also, my parents love this place so it's gotta be cool ... right?

Loved it food is good, staff friendly and good for kids

I had lunch here with some family and friends for my birthday. The meals were brought out in a timely manner and was quite enjoyable (not perfect, but definitely good enough) but what stood out was the incredible customer service from the waitresses who assisted us so brilliantly when we had a child related disaster. They didn't skip a beat, they were polite, respectful and kind and went out of their way to make sure everything was okay. On the customer service alone, which in so many places nowadays seems lacking, I'll be certain to be a return customer.

12th May 2022. Good service and excellent food. Compliments to the chef for my Satay Chicken with rice and the best ever chips I've had, ever. Staff were great. 5 stars out of 5.

Staff were welcoming and helpful. The pub is beautifully renovated and the open fire was great. The food was too notch and a fantastic price - gotta love lunch specials! Definitely recommend:)

Very tidy old school pub which has had an epic face lift. Stayed in the family room, the beds and pillows omg!!!! After a stint out fifo all I wanted was somewhere to lay my head, I dead set fell into a cloud!!! Sadly I diddnt get to enjoy the food or bar down stairs however I will be back in the near future.
