Edithvale General Store

We had a delightful dining experience at Edithvale General Store. The food was not only delicious but also prepared with attention to detail, showcasing the chef's culinary expertise.
The service was exceptional – the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcomed. Their genuine hospitality added to the overall enjoyment of our visit.
The menu offered a fantastic variety of options, catering to different tastes and preferences. It's evident that they put thought into providing a diverse selection that appeals to a wide range of customers. There were lots of great options for vegans and vegetarians. We also learnt the menu changes seasonally, so they don't always serve the same thing year round like many other cafes.

I would highly recommend the Edithvale General Store.

What does make a place really special?

I just had to ponder this question on a Sunday morning, sipping my 3rd, perfect temperature Mocha (Why Not!). Sitting outside the Edithvale General Store in the glorious Melbourne sunshine, The answer, it turns out, is really quite simple.

They LOVE what they do.

It is so evident it permeates through the food, the coffee and the wonderfully friendly neighbourhood service. I'm here at smash o'clock and the crew serving, cooking and supporting are all full of smiles and seem genuinely happy to be at work on a Sunday morning.
This is the place I long to be on every street corner I live on forever more. I had coffee that would make Monday morning jealous. The flavour of the food was delightful.
I had the Avo' Smash with grilled watermelon. I forgot about the watermelon until it exploded in my mouth and I actually giggled out loud.
I did not want to leave. I wanted to stay so present and connected to this perfect Sunday morning experience I had to have another Mocha inside and just watch the happiest crew I have seen since forever get on doing what they love.
Please don't change, grow or try to be anything else. In a strange land, at a strange time in my life, I found heaven on a street corner in Edithvale. Thank you Crew for all being You.

Great Bayside stop with friends or on your own. Some vegan options. Great coffee. Atmosphere gorgeous! Like an old beachside milk bar, has become a Melbourne foodies cafe. Plenty of shade thank goodness on their outdoor seating.

Keep it up- and put some savoury scones on the menu !

Amazing spot for a brunch with beautiful vibe! We had brunch at this place and the food was amazing and the portions are great for the price too

A great laid back vibe, with good food. Love the outdoor area so you can take your dog or pram. The Turkish eggs were delicious!

The food is incredible at this place - everything looks fantastic and tastes even better! Their coffee is also great!

Service is great, really polite staff who have a lot of patience for how busy the place gets.

Only thing letting this place down is the acoustics. It can get very loud here, definitely wouldn't recommend if you're looking for an intimate catch up or date.

Haven’t been wowed by a cafe like this in a long time!! Ambience is great, cute little suburban location with a grocer next door.

Coffee was amazing, I have a preference for a non acidic, sweeter roast and it’s just that and the baristas are very consistent with their milk after visiting more than once now.

Food is incredible, even on a public holiday and being busy the wait for food was shorter than most places and the quality and flavour was just top notch, nothing to fault.

Really wish I lived in the area because I’d certain to be a regular if I did!

A charming cafe with a cozy atmosphere! The coffee here is fantastic – rich and robust. The menu offers a variety of delicious pastries and light bites. I tried their avocado toast, and it was perfection. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick.

Love this cafe and the general store! The cafe space inside and outside is so beautiful and welcoming! The service, coffee and food were amazing! We had the fritters and the poke bowl, both large portions and full of flavour! Coffee was perfect too.
Loved the general store, it sold some really cool products.
I can’t wait to come back to try more delicious things on the menu, I was struggling to choose because everything sounds so good!

Delightful, hidden treasure. Great salads, surprisingly good steak sandwich, all put together with care and finesse. Wonderful service and a very cool vibe. You may need to book.

5/5 for the coffee, food and service! Best in the area, hands down. The lockdown takeaway food is really well done aswell - the breakfast burger is exceptional! 2 rashers of bacon, 2 fried eggs, cheese and some super delicious relish and Mayo… yes please!

Service is attentive when dining, with lots of seating inside and out. The menu has something for everyone, but a warning - the portions are generous!! We’ve left very full every time we’ve been.

Calamari was light and fresh. Parmesan in it was tasty and authentic. Loved it.
The waffles looked great and were enjoyed. Very sweet.

great atmosphere and cute coffee/brunch spot on the suburbs! super lovely staff each time i've been so friendly and accommodating. they kindly placed a takeaway/premade chia seed pudding in a dine-in plate and topped with extra toppings when i asked, and even brought in some extra granola! so kind! breakfast food is also of great quality and super super generous, and not too pricy at all! dont forget to take a peak at their grocer next store for some cute pantry items and fresh food and treats too!

Found this place amazing. Food and coffee was 5/5 we have young kids (1&3) and great healthy choices for them as well rather than the usual sugar loaded items. Services was fantastic, quick and delicious. Highly recommended!

Breakfast bun with halloumi was absolutely delicious! Kid friendly portions and coffee was great! Staff were friendly and even allowed me to charge my computer when the battery ran flat! Highly recommend.

Amazing food and tasted delicious! I had the smashed avocado and my friend had the mushroom medley. Coffee was great. Will definitely be coming back here again!

Last Sunday we visited the busy and local favourite Edithvale General Store in Edithvale 😎

We tried their gorgeous Turkish Eggs and their super colourful Teriyaki Salmon Poke Bowl - really recommend ordering both 😍

It was a sunny day so we tried their smoothies and iced coffees too, they went really well with our brunch dishes 🌞

A great lunch spot hidden away. Excellent service and help. Food was perfect (we had the bowls..) and coffee good. Nice outside but can be a bit hot.

5 stars, i couldn't fault anything. Food was amazing we had brunch. Chips were irresistible. for my daughter, they brought out pencils and papper. And we had breaki bun and turkish eggs...
