We had a great evening with friends here. Fantastic food that is creative and delicious. Food is ideal for sharing. The range of wine and beer is impressive, and will not disappoint. Staff are delightful and helpful. Great access to public transport. Even the chips hard to fault.

What a great place for share plates and wine! We sampled a fair few dishes and overall quite happy. The cauliflower caught us by surprise, we loved that! Happy to come back again soon.. great new opening for sure!

One of the best meals I have had this year. Staff was excellent. Great booze. Highly recommend and I'll be definitely going back for my favourites.

This has to be my new local fave bar! The coolest thing about it is it’s a bottle shop converted into a bar with a kitchen out the back to cook up some incredible small plates!

We visited here spontaneously on a night out- got in just before the kitchen closed and was super happy we did as the food was divine!

The Dirty G and T was seriously the most delicious g and t I’ve eveerrrr had!! Like I’m obsessed and will go souly back for that reason 🥵

Not to mention the service was impeccable- they accidentally forgot about our drinks and were so apologetic- they even discounted our bill which I was so shocked when I went to pay! They seriously went above and beyond and I value that so much ❤‍🔥

I very much enjoyed this cosy restaurant last night! It's quite the all-rounder with quality food, wine and so many great beers to choose from! Make sure you try the Baba Ganoush.. delicious!

They recommended an excellent Pinot noir which went great with their awesome olives. Got a few oysters and tried their natural style Syrah from the Brunswick Wine Co.

Really enjoyed dining at Rascal - we did the chef’s menu which was all delicious but my personal favourites have to be the crab toast with furikake, the bresola, kangaroo tartare, and lamb (super tender, flavourful and that’s from two people who aren’t exactly lamb lovers). For dessert, my preference was the mango. All in all - solid menu, drinks and great service!

Totally blown away. This brand new wine bar and restaurant just opened in Brunswick and is hitting home runs on multiple levels. I know it seems odd but the roasted carrot and mead dish is a mouthwatering must. Fantastic cocktails as well, try the midnight stinger.

The desserts were probably the best ones I've ever had. I could probably write a whole review just on them. If you can, try the caramel pear and the rhubarb and blackberry ones.

Plenty of vegetarian options for me such as a moreish cauliflower dish and a really tasty take on celeriac. My meat eating friends seemed to be enjoying the snapper and fried chicken dishes.

Even though it is a new bar the staff provided excellent service. They were very helpful and helped me choose a glass of syrah granache wine which tasted of juicy dark cherries and paired perfectly with my meal.

There's a very nice bar area as well as the more restaurant focused part so it seems they've catered well to those hungry for great food as well as those that just want to pop in for a bit of wine and cheese.

Slip into this sleek bar lined with hundreds of excellent wines and try the Pinot Grigio with a small green olive dish. Very good choices. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. All bottles can be purchased for take away. And there's a huge array of beer in colourful cans.

im a brunny local and frequent diner at rascal. the team are not only super inviting and provide a great service but the food continues to blow my mind every visit. i always tend to seek some level of uniqueness in great food and rascal deliver that through their creativity in their meals. enjoyed this months ramen special team!

First night out of lockdown and had to come here. Intimate, low lit bar with amazing food. We had the snack menu for 2 people, which was great because the food came out slowly, while you drank amazing wine. Could also pick what beer/wine you wanted from the bottle shop, and drink it at your table.

Deliciousness! I went with a group of girls on Saturday night and we had a lovely table on the side. While there was a fun energy to the atmosphere we were still able to comfortably converse and hear each other. I’m vegetarian so it was great to have a range of delicious dishes I could enjoy. The pasta was a treat and that zucchini dish was refreshing and playful! I will never forget that whipped butter with the bread, simply divine! Cocktails were delightful and well made (queen of sour I think it’s called?) passion fruit foam in it was heavenly! Definitely recommend 5 stars

Didn't get time to check out the selection on offer for sale at the bottle shop, but the bar was amazing! Great spritzes and wine on offer, classy and delicious charcuterie board, thoughtful service, gorgeous ambience. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Brunswick.

We’ve ordered dinner from Rascal a few times and each time is excellent and great value. It’s perfect for when you feel like a restaurant quality meal or for special occasions. The staff are friendly and accommodating to our dietary requirements.

Great food and very good service . Worth a visit you will not be disappointed. Nice up market place for Sydney Rd.

This is a beautiful venue with great atmosphere. The staff were lovely friendly and attentive. The food is delicious, each dish is creative, fresh and tasty. We loved everything we ordered, from the superb oysters to the lamb neck, cos salad and chats potatoes. Excellent Prosecco and wine. Highly recommended.

Went to the opening night and was blown away !
Food was so good and far beyond what I expected. Wine list is well thought out and the Chardonnay I had which is owned by the owners family was great. Beers on tap and 50 bottles in the fridge kept my friends happy.
Mrs had a cocktail and said it was also super good.
A great addition to Sydney road and the Brunswick area will be back for sure.

Make sure you chat to the owner Harrison as he is knowledgeable and worth a chat.

Went for a friends birthday function last Thursday, great wine bar with a menu that lends itself more towards nice restaurant, with really friendly staff. Really enjoyed the lamb dish and had a few too many cocktails! The staff were also super helpful with my friends gluten-free requirement. Will be back soon!

Place is amazing. Fantastic wine list, just as good a beer list. They rotate the lists around to keep it seasonal and on point. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
The menu was great, nice share plates. The kangaroo tartare, wow. The carrots? Life changing.
And the dessert, for someone who normally skips dessert for cheese, I'd definitely do the desserts again.
