Melbourne Pathology Southbank

I understand we all have different experiences!

I went there on the 17th of Jan. I was in and out within 5 minutes and the pathologist was extremely friendly and experienced! Didn’t even feel a sting of the needle.

Went in at 10am on Tuesday 30/5. The fantastic pathologist was super friendly, extremely efficient and thorough. I was in and out in literally under 5 minutes (barely warmed up the chair that I sat in!). Queue wasn’t long at all with one person in front who went in as soon as I got there. She was also brilliant at finding the correct spot/angle to draw the blood because it was nearly painless. She’s amazing at her job and should get a pay rise!

Absolutely no complaints here. Arrived at 8.45, was out the door by 9.07 with one other who went in before me while waiting.
I was very hesitant about my blood test but Ruby was extremely accommodating and made the process calm and quick.

Arrived at 8:10am on a Friday just to be sure to beat any queues and once they opened at 8:30am, I was in and out in 12minutes! (8:42am)

Very welcoming environment and a professional manner.

Great and friendly service, tbh I don’t know why the rating was so low.
Oh, now I knew, met a weird one : (

Great place to go if you enjoy a long wait. Arrived 9:30, waited for 90 + mins before.

Others behind me will have waited longer. ….

Please instal an online appointment service, more efficient for everyone!

On 06 July I did blood test and breath test. A week after I got results of blood tests on time, but not breath test.
On 17 July I followed up onto inquire on the missing results.
On 25 July, long story short, I got breath test results .
MP claim the sample was tested on 06 July and results sent to my doctor. However, the breath test result issued to me has 17 July "collection date" on it, which coincides with my follow up email.
MP avoided answers on very simple questions raised in my emails.
Given the sequence of events and these timelines, and lack of ownership of mistake, I have no certainty the results are true results and not just "paper results". Will have to re-do the test elsewhere.

While I understand that omissions of this type can happen, what is truly disappointing is my email communication with MP and absence of clarity why and how this have happened even when clearly asked.

Oh, one more thing. They claimed results were given to my GP (haven't had chance to double check), however, I was able to see my blood test results on My Health Record but not the breath test results. Somehow I am prone to believe that if they had my results on time, they would be uploaded on MHR as the blood test results were.

So my 1* review is not only for the testing centre on Sturt Street but also MP as an organisation.

I visited on 2 separate days between 10:30 and 11:00am - Wednesday the 25th Jan and Friday the 27th. Both times the pathologist appeared to be on a (seemingly extended?) break. The actual opening times should be clearly stated on the webpage etc as some of us plan visits around work schedules.

So slow. Waited 2 hours. And the staff doesn't take patient straight after one being done.

Extremely slow blod test department, only 3 people in front of me but the wait was over an hour. Will find another Melbourne pathology for next time

The Melbourne pathology service is very slow, taking more than an hour to serve you.

The worst service that I’ve ever had.
I went today for a blood test and the nurse was very rude and unfriendly.
