Recommended: desserts!! Don’t be tricked by rainbow fruit cups, go with any else desserts , including mango pudding, and other rice pudding, feels smooth on my spoon and really yum.
Services are perfect, and shaomai are delicious too!
Keep on top of the tea restaurant and then will definitely come back again

Lots of people for the weekend 11am yum cha! Luckily my friend made a prior booking or else you may need to wait for the next slot which is 1pm.

Best to eat at the emailer slot, as some of their popular food may be sold out. There is a 10% weekend surcharge, so be aware.

Food is nice, although expensive, I will come back again, as I enjoyed their yum cha.

Great good and fair price. Always loved this place. I can't remember a dish that I've ordered that I didn't like. Highly recommended!

Update: Went back again recently - same great food but expectedly, their price have increased a little. Added a few more photos.

Top knotch yumcha at a decent price point, and lesser-known old school Cantonese yumcha dishes such as the Thousand Layer Sponge Cake (here with alternating layers of salted egg). I haven’t found this anywhere else in Melbourne!

As with most good yumcha spots, it is essential to book ahead. Will definitely revisit.

Amazing selection from what I'm told by the people we were with very authentic the food just kept coming and coming full stop service was Great. Might need to book in advance as we arrived at 11 a.m. on Sunday and there was a huge queue outside yes we did have a booking. Didn't have to wait long for the cost to carts to around, that is normally a pretty hate. Staff were very attentive and happy to assist with anything we needed, we will be back.

Loved this place! So many options, and love checking out the carts for my favourite dishes. So so happy they had cheung fun and the beef tripe. Definitely should visit with a larger group to try more delicious dishes. Loved the ambience and families just enjoying a tasty yum cha, pretty comforting and brings memories of yum cha with family when I was younger

Delicious! I was treated to a dinner by a relative who highly recommended this restaurant. The steamed cod fish, braised claypot pork belly and home made tofu is highly recommended. Will be back again on special occasions. Price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

Imperial Chinese Restaurant’s Yum Cha is one of the best Yum Cha in Melbourne. We go pretty frequently there to start the weekend. Lovely food, easy parking. The dinner is also fantastic.

After trying all the yum cha place in the city, I started to explore the suburbs and feel so blessed to find this place, the best out of the best yum cha in Melbourne. As a foodie coming from non Cantonese background, I still fancy the atmosphere of traditional Hong Kong tea house and Guangdong old school style yum cha. Top quality of material is very rare nowadays and variety is oddly seen, which is exactly what surprised me when I came across this Yum Cha.
Bulky shrimp 🍤 dumplings and steamed eel are the best.
For dinner, chicken soup and all the dishes from their recommended list won’t disappoint you.
Service is so attention to details, they’ll help you debone the chicken from the soup even.

The food and service here are great on a regular basis. Either stopping in and eating out for dinner, or ordering takeaway and eating it at home, the food is always top notch and reasonably priced.

Came back to Imperial for a dinner on Thursday night with a good friend. Place wasn't too busy so waiting service was very attentive. Had the snow crab, which was absolutely delicious. For those that like intestitine, these are not bad and worth a shot.

I had a great time at Imperial Chinese Restaurant for yumcha. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, with a nice view of the street. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and fresh. I enjoyed a variety of dim sum dishes, such as har gow, siu mai, char siu bao, and egg tarts. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant also offers a range of seafood and other Chinese dishes, which I would love to try next time. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Chinese cuisine.

One of the best yumcha places I've been too. Dumplings aren't too big and get the intense flavours of the shrimp. Highly recommended and will come back again soon.

Lots of favourite traditonal yumcha goodies here. Chicken feet, tendons, etc.

Yumcha was so good that I forgot to take photos as I was hosted by a family.
