Salt Cafe Restaurant Wine

We came here on New Years Eve and I was extremely grateful they accommodated us especially since we had no reservations and it was near closed. The staff was great and friendly. The food was great as well. The oysters were bomb. I added hot sauce (They have actual hot sauce and boy was it perfectly spicy). The bread was great and I was not expecting the olives to be warmed up. I would suggest getting reservations here because this place is definitely popular from the looks for it.

I don’t often write reviews but I really enjoyed Salt as part of a recent Christmas party group booking.
Service was attentive, engaging, and entertaining.
The food was very unique compared to most places in Warrnambool, offering surprisingly creative combinations and stunning visual colour contrast. Flavours were outstanding and had me guessing ingredients with every bite.
I plan to return again soon as this menu requires further investigation 😊

Upon arrival the service was warm, welcoming, helpful and efficient.

The restaurant atmosphere is refined, classy and understated. Very comfortable and lends a sense of occassion without feeling stuffy or overly formal.

The menu offered a good variety of dishes without being excessive.

The wine list was excellent and complimented the dishes very well.

There was a good range of cocktails, beers, ciders and other mixed drinks available from the bar.

My entree of pan seared scallops was fresh and appetizing

The lamb backstrap I had for main was also perfectly prepared and presented in a well sized portion and was truly one of the best main meals I have had in the last 10 years ( as long as I can remember )

The dessert and coffee to follow did not fail to meet the high expectation of the rest of the meal.

I left, perfectly satisfied and vowing to return. The chef deserves significant recognition for what he has created and achieved with this restaurant, Salt.
It is bound for great success and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to solo diners, couples out on date night, catch up with friends or family gatherings - this restaurant has it all.

This restaurant achieves a level of excellence that is rare and to be converted.

Fantastic food, modern French with a lot of care in plating and produce quality, the ladies serving us were awesome. It was a bit quiet so atmosphere was quiet. Don’t understand why it is not busier, holds up against any regional restaurants I have been to.

This was my second visit to this restaurant in 3 months, as I travel to Warrnambool for work. My first visit was exceptional and I had to come back. They didn't disappoint, the head waitress actually remembered me and we chatted, so gave the whole experience an extra level of satisfaction. The service is excellent and the food is very good, a gem in Warrnambool that wouldn't be lost in a top suburb of Melbourne.

We hardly get a chance to dine out in Warrnambool but so thrilled we chose Salt. The atmosphere is amazing with the exposed sandstone brick, gorgeous colour scheme and natural wooden bar. The staff went above and beyond and were professional, bubbly and happy to be there which is a credit to them for a great working environment. The menu consisted of so much local and housemade items that I was thoroughly impressed. The food was well thought out with an abundance of care, passion and pride in each dish. Excellent presentation of each one married with the fantastic flavour and absolute freshness.
Hats off to the staff and owners for such a an exceptional experience, a worthy evening and delicious food.

Oh am I so glad we chose Salt Cafe and Restaurant to dine in last night. An absolutely amazing meal of fillet of pork accompanied by their Rocket potatoes. Not only was our meal delicious, it the service by our waitress was exemplary also. 11/10 👏👏

My partner and I recently went to Salt to check out the new menu, with matching wines. We were not dissapointed.

The service was very attentive and all diatry requirements were met.

If your looking for somthing a little bit more than just "pub food" and enjoy local produce, Salt is a restaurant not to be missed.

The food is fantastic! Had the yellow fin tuna, beautiful! Great cocktails, pink gin martini 👌excellent service and music selection was awesome.

Found this place by walking down the street looking for breakfast, and what a find! There were lots of staff around, I was seated quickly and it was light and spacious without being echoy. I had a delicious eggs Benedict which I recommend, it was perfect. I also came back later for a takeaway coffee which was great as well. Great place to stop for breakfast!

Food is DELICIOUS, service is fantastic, the 3 course offer is amazing value… We keep coming back! Highly recommend!!

My partner and I choose Salt for my birthday dinner and boy was it a great choice! Staff were so friendly, immediately walking in the restaurant is beautiful and the atmosphere amazing. We both choose the three course option. The food was hands down the best thing we have ever tasted. Everything presented so beautifully and each dish we couldn’t believe how great the flavours. I recently held a function at this restaurant and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was perfect for our event. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to host a function, and I will definitely be returning in the future. Overall, a fantastic experience with top-notch service and cuisine. My husband and I went here on the weekend for a last minute anniversary celebration and couldn't be more pleased. The food was absolutely stunning and was great value. We ordered the 3 snacks, main and dessert deal which allowed us to try every single snack on the menu between the two of us - yay!!!! Then we shared the Gnocchi and Barramundi followed by two stunning desserts. The menu apparently changes and I can honestly say that it wouldn't matter what was being served on the day, you wouldn't be disappointed. We would have no hesitation ordering anything off their menu because every single thing was delicious with gorgeous fresh produce and mouth watering flavour. We also ordered a few cocktails and wine - all just yum yum yummy! The service was also amazing - the girls were all really attentive, but not over the top. It was a relaxed and laid back atmosphere that you would feel comfortable coming in if you were either dressed up for a night out or simply jeans and a t-shirt. Do yourself a favour and book a table ASAP, you won't regret it.

We were accommodated into this restaurant at late notice (thanks) under the recommendation of a family friend – OH MY GOODNESS is all we have to say.
We were welcomed by beautiful staff, who were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wines.
Without any expectations, we we’re blown away with all our choices of food, wine and dessert!
We immediately noticed all our meals presented to a very high standard, fresh ingredients, beautiful textures and left us wanting more and more!
Scrumptious “snacks”, to die for bread with their own special butter, chicken and meats cooked beautifully and exquisitely cooked vegetables. The wine was divine, and as for the dessert, Poached Apple of sorts for my partner and Dark Chocolate Mousse for me, left our tastebuds exhausted and dazed!
It may be a big call, but for me, easily 5 star – I would/could easily drive the 300+kms from Melbourne just for dinner to do this all over!

Happened to come by here by pure chance and it delivered.. fantastic wine list, smart well presented cocktails. The menu is thoughtful, and the meals well presented with a clear eye for detail when preparing the accompanying sides and sauces to dishes. It is truly something special when a family comes together to support one another in building a new restaurant and relationships with its customers, evident to our dining experience to be served by the owners aunt who was both engaging and attentive.
This was a truly great dining experience, one that should become a noteworthy addition to the local food culture of this region.

I went to Salt at the recommendation of family, when I visited Warrnambool over the summer. I went without any great expectations and came out a Salt ‚convert‘. The atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed but the food 5 star quality. We shared 3 of their snack menu items as entree and I ate the lamb on a bed of peas as main course. The only points of criticism were the delays in ordering and on our courses arriving, but at the same time, there was no rush. The window table restricts movement - lucky I am relatively small. All in all a fantastic evening with high quality cooking and ingredients.
