I got a taro roll and black forest crepe cake here a few weeks ago. The serving sizes are big, but the cakes aren't too sweet, so they're perfect for afternoon tea with a coffee😋 I found the cakes and flavours to be different and interesting -- I haven't seen anything like it in Melbourne before. The service was good -- quick and friendly. I didn't eat in so can't really comment on that experience. I'll definitely be back and will recommend this place to others.

Went to have supper and was presently surprised. Every dish came out looking exactly like the photos in the menu! And tasted pretty good too!

Their signature cakes and swiss rolls are EPIC- soft and fluffy & the flavours are intense as. They have so many flavours on offer it’s really hard to choose. Rly enjoyed them tho- ESP the black sesame and taro.. loved the Yuzu too.. loved them all tbh 🤣 I doggy bagged what we didn’t finish and my parents couldn’t stop raving about the cakes!! 😍 🍰💓

I want to go back for more. Their Katsu sandwich was also amazing 😻 so many drinks on offer too.
If you’re in the east side; pop by fo shizzle. You wont be disappointed 😍✌🏻🤍

The cafe is aesthetic and well lit. Perfect spot for a dessert date and catch up. 💓🥰🌸🫖😄

Absolutely love this no frills minimalist cafe. Desserts are not sweet which is the highest compliment :)

📝: Visited this new dessert shop in Box Hill a few weeks back. Such a cute and aesthetic minimalist design with an array of cakes to browse from.

❤: Whether you’re craving for Swiss Rolls, 🍰 Crepe Cakes or just simply a refreshing drink, Sugar Labo has it all. We got the signature Mille Feuille Swiss Roll and 🍵 Matcha Cream Swiss Roll to try there along with Hojicha and Matcha Milkshakes. They also have 💜 Taro Milkshake, but unfortunately it was sold out at the time. Will have to try it one day!

Black sesame, tiramisu or yuzu? All so fluffy and soft, and delicious. Love the nutty earthy flavour of the black sesame, and the zesty refreshing flavour of the yuzu. The subtle flavour of the tiramisu is also enticing and very pleasant to eat. Can't wait to try more because the menu looks amazing.

This is an amazing dessert studio that has great cakes including le mille crepe cakes. They also have the Japanese sando. Varieties of refreshing drinks.

On the day, we got:

- Chicken katsu sando
- Taro roll cake
- Matcha roll cake
- Kiwi & Lime sparkling
- Watermelon sparkling

Definitely a great spot to check out whether its a quick catch up with friends or buying food for a picnic date!

A revisit to all the swiss rolls! And other treats, here at Sugar Labo you'll have a hard time choosing between swiss rolls, crepe cakes and fun fresh cakes in jars with a can finish. There's also a range of drinks, fruit bubble teas and the usual cafe drinks menu.

We tried a range of cakes, and I like them all. They're on the lighter side in terms of flavour. The swiss rolls are the asian style, crazy light chiffon that's simply magic, Biscoff was a crowd pleaser though it was the peanut butter oreo that made us feel alive (try this one last, it's strong).

Crepe slices, paper thin with taro cream, and black forest inspired, subtle. Works of art really. Cake in jars (but sealed with a canning look) were something we haven't seen before, giving us festive vibes, perfect on picnics. Fun complimentary flavours, in matcha sesame and peach oolong that tastes like summer.

There were also a range of fun drinks, of which we tried the dragonfruit and sparkling watermelon with little cubes in there and lychee popping pearls - my favourite!

Everything was wonderful, generous slices, I'd say all but crepe cakes serve two. A block from the mall, it's a cool quiet spot for dessert or an afternoon snack. Subtle flavours, something for everyone.

This place is such a heaven for dessert lovers !! They have a huge selection of crepe cakes and roll cakes (my fav!!). Their Japanese roll cakes were soft and fluffy. Mocktails are light and nice, goes well with the cakes as well. I also especially love their Peach Oolong cake jars, has a distinct oolong fragrance which paired really well with the pana cotta and sweet peach bits.

Went there over Easter weekend! Absolutely love their brunch and cakes. Must try their sando and Unagi Don! Highly recommend to everyone:)

We had the Yuzu sponge cake and it was delicious. Also really, really good coffee. I’d say probably best coffee in Box Hill. Will definitely be returning to try more of the cakes. 😋

Recently got to check out their Lunch menu and it was absolute delicious 🤤 their beef volcano was so delicious and the flavours were really good

Can cakes are simply fun in a jar, with loads of deliciousness. Each flavour was compelling and high quality. Not too heavy. And vibrant colours! These can cakes are a showstopper, having been gifted 6. Sugar Labo is the first to bring can cakes to Melbourne and launch the trend. Based in Box Hill they also deliver across Melbourne.

Really ENJOYED the food tasted great

Our family had the best time at Sugar_Labo. The food was absolutely mouth watering and the desserts were creamy, rich, sweet and delicious. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was incredible. The portions were large and beautifully presented. We highly recommend going to visit.

I was shocked by bad reviews. Went to get a couple of desserts to see if I like something like that for my birthday next week. I had a caramel roll and matcha cake, both were amazing! Light and not too sweet! If you like Japanese desserts it’s the right place to get it.

I went to Sugar Labo today and I drove 45+ minutes to try them out and was not disappointed, the whole aesthetic of the specialty cake store was amazing. the Lychee Rose cake jar was definitely my fav! such an amazing flavour combo, aswell as the egg salad sando! nothing compares! It was absolutely delicious and delicate.
I highly recommend if you want to go and try them out!

We went for a quick family of 4 dinner. The food was fun and tasty. The cakes for dessert we’re amazing!

Delicious. Black Forrest cake like I have never had. Creamy fabulousness.
