Launceston Backpackers

Is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! I recommend it 100%. I have been there for a whole month and I have felt like at home. I had a private room with a private bathroom, but I have seen the shared bathroom and everywhere was clean. Huge kitchen with fridges and a freezer, cleaned daily.
The washing machine washes with cold water but cleans well, costs $3. For hanging out the washing there is space outside. The hostel is very well located. Coles and dominos are close by.
Internet was fine in the mornings but in the evenings it was better not to need it. Parking is free of charge.
One thing to keep in mind is that for check-in it is better to have a phone at hand in case the reception is closed. The manager is SUPER nice. I am very grateful for my time there. I hope to be back soon!

Fantastic and helpful staff, we had a great time @ Launceston backpackers! Staff were discreet but very comprehensive and also responsive with us and our booking requests, which is a big + for young people. The beds are not the coziest but it is very affordable and it is a very clean hostel.

One of the best backpackers I’ve been to in Australia. Good prices, big comfortable rooms, friendly staff. The kitchen is very big as well as the dinning room and
TV room with a lot of outside areas. Definitely coming back.

Comfortable, clean and quiet place close to all services in town. Rates very reasonable, excellent value. My stay here was 3 weeks while trying to secure a private rental in Launceston. Staff only too happy to help and always approachable. Kitchen is well appointed and bathrooms sufficient. Rooms light and warm. Guests used the piano daily, and many of them were very talented, was wonderful to hear. Free onsite parking secured overnight. Overall, wonderful place to stay in Launceston.

Stayed here when in Launceston to the the Half Marathon. I loved the rooms, the service and the feel of the place. It is well maintained and it is clean. Not too much noise at night. A lovely park across the street. Would recommend staying here.

Cozy place to stay, comfy beds, extra blankets for only 50c, parking, good WiFi, close to plenty of restaurants, and the staff were very friendly and helpful to me when I needed them to provide me with a record of staying there for travel insurance purposes, they got it to me right away. Definitely a great stay for the price, and had a large common room with a big tv and movies, and water that was good and hot.

Spent two nights here, great kitchen and super friendly management. Good bed, no problem bunkmates. There's a nice spot in the back of the gated carpark to lock your bike.

As a travelling musician, I was a bit worn down when I arrived at Launceston Backpackers. Their friendly staff were highly empathetic and flexible, and they easily accomodated my needs for a little bit of extra privacy. With the room I have now, I am feeling more refreshed than I have in months!

It's my favorite place to stay in tazzie for the piano and huge number of people around. I'm guessing there are 80 beds or more often all full. It can be chaotic, fridges & hot water issues, people stealing groceries or money, but all in it's the best place to meet other travelers

Stayed several times - excellent kitchen, large rooms, friendly atmosphere, superb location, well run and beautiful heritage architecture.

The room I stayed in was nice, all the other rooms I saw into looked similar. Whenever someone ends their stay the management would change the bedsheets and vaccum the floor etc and leave the door open so you can see them doing that. The manager was really helpful, my mother asked what there was to do in Launceston and he told us about which tours were worth going to and even lent us the phone. It was the other people staying there that were extra interesting, I met this guy who seemed to be cosplaying as jesus. One day whilst I was there someone brought their dog, nicest dog ever.

2. Kitchen was really good, with a big dining area
3. Beds were clean and well kept

Good location, waking distance to the town centre. Staff were helpful, polite and considerate. Rooms and bathroom facilities were clean. Would definitely recommend to friends.

An excellent property. We were automatically upgraded to a twin room, my wife and I, and it is a big room. Unlike the stuffy ones at usual Hostels.

Affordable place, comfy room, friendly staff. For the price a fantastic room, (stayed in a double bed + ensuite), located pretty centrally which made it easy to get around.

Loved the architecture. The walls were nice and solid so def no complaints. Will definitely be considering it if we come back to Launceston.

This is just the best place to stay at Launceston. Very clean, very big kitchen and good beds. Ive tryed others at the city but this is the one!

Grate place to stay for several nights. Big and Clean kitchen. The manger in accommodation is very friendly.

Comfortable, afftortable, and clean. Really nice manager and big kitchen. We really like the place.
