Do yourself a favour and book a getaway at Wongari Eco Retreat. Both Bimbul and Serenity are glorious. We have stayed in both and will be returning. Wongari is the perfect place to unwind, reconnect and centre yourself. Brad and Mark have clearly put so much love into the cabins and surrounds. Well behaved dogs are welcome too which is rare in rainforest like this. I await our next visit to the beautiful Wongari💚🌿🌱

I had the most amazing 3 days spent relaxing at Wongari Eco Retreat, and I must say, the experience exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot into the Bimbul cabin, I was captivated by its charm and comfort.

Each morning, we woke up to the gentle sounds of nature and the soft rays of sunlight filtering through the trees - what a hidden gem! Needless to say, my heart is already set on a return visit!

Being pet friendly was a huge plus for us. Serenity is absolutely beautiful with its own private access to Christmas Creek via two pathways. Having just been for a 2 night stay the fireplace was on 24 /7 making the cabin cosy and comfortable. We will definitely be back and recommend it to our family and friends. We hope to come back in summer next time to make use of the Creek! Murph will love it too.

we spent 3 nights at Bimbul and we can't wait to return.
The scenic drive out to wongari is filled with rolling green mountains, crystal creeks and plenty of wildlife.
Bimbul was such a treat to stay in! we absolutely loved the wide open space it sits in with the beautiful mountain and trees surrounding you.
mornings were spent on the verandah eating brekky in the cool breeze followed by a short stroll down to the private creek for a dip in the lush spring and dinner and relaxation in the night was wonderful in front of the cozy fire inside.
our hosts were fantastic and extremely accommodating. we cant wait to return for our next secluded getaway! thank you Wongari!

Nestled in what feels like the most remote corner of the world, but is, in reality, less than 2 hours from Brisbane, Wongari facilitates the perfect combination of lux living, nature, and an off-the-grid experience. A cheeky 2 minute stroll will take you to your own remote section of Christmas Creek for swimming, and be sure to bring your four-legged friends because Wongari is pet-friendly! From the moment I arrived at Wongari, I was enveloped in a sense of tranquility that can only be found in the heart of nature. One of the highlights of my stay was witnessing my beloved canine companion revel in the creek adventure that Wongari had to offer. Three days in a row, my furry friend frolicked in the crystal-clear waters of the creek, exploring and enjoying nature in its purest form. Seeing her so happy and carefree added an extra layer of joy to my experience.

What truly sets Wongari Eco Retreat apart is their ingenious approach to providing an internet and phone reception-free environment. Instead, they offer a walkie talkie system to communicate with the manager. This intentional disconnection from the digital world allowed me to fully immerse myself in the natural surroundings and connect with the present moment. It's a rare gift to be able to disconnect in today's hyperconnected world, and Wongari made it effortless and liberating.

As I reluctantly packed my bags to leave, I couldn't help but promise myself that this wouldn't be my last visit to Wongari. The retreat had cast a spell on me, and I'm already counting down the days until I can return. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or a solo retreat, Wongari Eco Retreat caters to all with its unspoiled beauty and rejuvenating atmosphere.

In conclusion, my stay at Wongari Eco Retreat was an experience that words can hardly do justice. Really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Bimbul cabin. The cabin and surrounds were far nicer than we expected, a very clean and cosy place with a lovely deck to soak in the view. We took our large dog and she enjoyed exploring and playing in the creek. We will definitely be coming back.

My third year of using Bimbul as a structured 'silence & solitude' retreat (this time for 11 days). It's perfect for this - immersed in nature, by the creek, no neighbours to be seen, a dead end road, few humans, and 'off-grid'. But in very comfortable, cosy, modern, well equipped accommodation. Mark and Brad offer a generous discount for the period, and are considerate, respectful, and supportive of what I'm trying to do. Thank you Mark & Brad!!

My partner and I stayed here for two nights and it was the cosiest and most relaxing little getaway from our busy lives. It was so nice being off grid, with no interference of social media and phones. We just enjoyed each other’s company and relaxed in a homely but luxurious and private setting. We loved soaking up the sunshine from the back deck, the sun bed and the stunning shower which is situated by a huge window facing the north sun where all you can see is trees and mountain tops. The sound of the creek from the home is so relaxing, but you can also explore down to the creek which is just stunning. The fire place was perfect for early afternoon sunsets and drinks, and then enjoy the indoor fireplace whilst cooking dinner and sipping wine. I could not recommend this enough if you’re looking for a relaxing and refreshing retreat.

My partner & I had the most amazing relaxed stay at the Bimbul Eco Retreat. The hosts Mark & Brad were very friendly & helpful. The location was spectacular “off the grid” with stunning mountain forest views from our balcony & we really enjoyed exploring the creek which is only 50 metres from the retreat. We loved the fire pit, the big bay window reading nook & the Monsoon shower with outside views! The perfect place to relax & unwind. We were happy to talk to each other without the interruptions of phone, internet or TV. Loved your property guys & so did Snickers - we will be back!

We have stayed at Wongari Eco Retreat twice now. We stayed in Serenity last December and enjoyed swimming in the creek. Last week we enjoyed the stunning views from Bimbul. The fireplace was very enjoyable. We have already booked Bimbul for this December. It is such a peaceful location to have a break from the world.

Peaceful getaway, Serenity cabin was cosy and well equipped. It's very dog friendly, our dog loved exploring the area. The owner, Mark is so welcoming and friendly. Great to know it's powered by hydro as well. Highly recommend if you want to get away and enjoy nature!

As always, we enjoyed our stay in 'Serenity', very cosy comfortable cabin situated in a beautiful setting listening to the waterfall, the creek and the birds. Enjoyable walks in the winter sunshine and fresh air. Generous, friendly and helpful hosts, Mark and Brad, welcomed us and our two pooches. Looking forward to our next visit and hopefully a stay at Bimbul.

We had the opportunity last week to stay in this lovely cabin (serenity) for 3 nights. The sound of the creek and a forest setting was a great way to disconnect from TV, internet and phone, and to reconnect with my husband. It was great that we could bring our dog too.

The single most relaxing vacation spot I've been to, and the most serene, euphoric cabin I've stayed in! Icing on the cake was that it's dog friendly, and the pups enjoyed it as much as we did. The perfect spot to unwind your mind and take much needed time off the harder responsibilities of life. Will absolutely be going back :)

Wonderfully isolated luxury cabins nestled amongst the wonder of Lamington National Park. Amazingly pet friendly. Beautiful owners who couldn't be more hospitable. Can personally vouch for this property's extraordinary Summer (creek swims, breezy deck) and Winter (toasty fire, alpine feel) appeal!

Incredible one of a kind experience. Perfect place to sit back relax and enjoy the sound of water along Christmas creek metres away. We will be back! Thanks to Brad and Mark for the amazing experience.

What a beautiful place to relax and disconnect. We loved cooking in the baker's oven and taking advantage of all the walks. Our dog, Winston felt right at home with space to explore. We will most definitely be back.

Cannot put into words how great it was to be completely off grid and just enjoy what Wongari has to offer. The serenity was like no other. Enjoying a glass of wine by the fire, playing board games and just enjoying each others company on the deck or down by the creek in the sun. The weekend at Wongari Serenity cabin was everything I looked forward to for the weeks leading up to our booking - Thank you Mark and Brad, we are already looking at the calendar to re-book.

An absolute paradise, we will be back soon. The hosts are very friendly and seem to have thought of everything. The walk to the end of the road is perfect for a casual hike, following the creek, or you can enter the national park if you're up for more. The creek was the highlight, extremely clear, with a good depth and perfect to cool off in. We stayed at Serenity, and viewed Bimbul on the way out, Serenity is closer to the creek and more immersed in the rainforest, where as Bimbul is slightly elevated with a more modern feel, hard to pick one over the other, just a slightly different experience. Both also have an undercover park for your car.
