Hotel Shakespeare

I had a lovely stay here for a night while passing through. Sharon was great for a chat and knew a lot about the surroundings. I'll stay here again if I'm ever out this way again.

Hotel Shakespeare is under new ownership. Beautifully renovated. Fantastic friendly service and delicious coffees. Great place to sit on the balcony and take in the view. Highly recommend.

Owners very friendly and helpful, good burger for dinner and the best night in a long time with the locals.

Amazing place with amazingly friendly staff. Beds and showers were amazing after camping for the past 4 days. Dinner was great and the service went way above and beyond all expectations. Great price too. Thank you to everyone who made it such a great stop over for us :)

We are ate here 3 times while in Barky. The people that work there are very nice. Very very busy week while there and all the staff were all very professional. The food was great pub food. Beer nice and cold.

We drove through Barcaldine a few years back and said we should stop here next time. Today we stopped and haven’t been disappointed. Did a short pub crawl of the 3 open pubs (1 pub closed due to the sad passing of the publican.) The locals were friendly and welcoming. This town has a good feel. Dinner @ the Shakespeare was fabulous. The pork spare ribs were the best Jeff has had. The clean bones tell the story ( the meat feel off them). Well done Shaky and Barcaldine!!

Got caught in the floods and had to ring around late at night with four kids looking for a room. Naomi straight away offered us a room and was so helpful when we were abit flustered with the road closures. We will be passing through again for a meal and drinks in the future. Thanks to the great people at the Shakespeare, an act of kindness the kids got to witness.

Wonderful owners very accommodating. Made us feel super welcome and part of the community. Lovely historical building, new chef, well priced beer and pub grub.

Great hotel with everything that you may need. Great friendly owners/licencees, Heather and Barry, who make you feel at home. Great meals at good price. No problem sleeping in really comfortable beds. Great for a stopo er, evsn if just for a 'coldie'. Centrally located in the middle of town almost directyly opposite the renowned 'Tree of Knowledge' and the railway station. Walking distance of everything in town. Highly recommended.

Brilliant meals, fabulous staff. Offered to go back to the van Park and bring me back then deliver me if intoxicated. I didn't ask they offered. Brilliant.

Such genuine, cool and lovely people. Cold drinks, nice well priced food and great friendly staff and locals. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

The food was excellent. When they learnt it was my birthday they gave us both a chuppa chup and after the meal brought me an ice cream with a candle in it. So thoughtful.

Lovely country pub, really nice friendly owners and staff. Delicious food. A wonderful relaxing atmosphere.
