Beach Almond

We had the half lobster seafood platter and a stir fry vegetable with long beans. The lobster was cooked in a coconut turmeric sauce. It was simply delicious. The mussels melts in your mouth, the fried calamari, grilled prawns and barramundi were so fresh and delicious. The salad and dipping sauce goes so well with the dish. The servings were generous and it is reasonably price compare to Melbourne. Michelle looked after us and she was so helpful and friendly in helping us choose our meal. The service and food were first class.

Dined here twice during our holiday in Cairns. The Singaporean chilli mud crab was fabulous. But we loved every other dish we ordered. Very friendly service. Brian is an amazing chef! Hands down the best restaurant we’ve tried on this holiday.

Absolutely beautiful food, gorgeous setting and lovely staff. Tis a wee bit pricey but worth every cent! Best meal we’ve had in Far North Queensland! Second time we’ve eaten there, immaculate every time.

The Malaysian/Singaporean fusion seafood here is amazing, the deep fried fish is absolutely to die for! Butter prawns were good, and the seafood platter in general is excellent. The quality of the seafood is so fresh, a great spot for sure.

We had the entree tasting platter which was superb - fresh, varied and delicious. We followed that with the black pepper mud crab. We will go to Singapore for black pepper crab - and this was better! Seriously one of the best meals we’ve had! Highly recommend.

Delicious Thai seafood dishes that did not disappoint!!! Love the rustic beach shack vibe.....don't let it deter you. The service is very friendly and did I say how good the food is !!!!

The Beach Almond, tucked away at the northern end of the Palm Cove esplanade is a hidden gem. perhaps too hidden, if you don’t know then its unassuming street frontage allows you to stroll by. Trust me, stop and read the menu and venture in. Chef Brian has been producing some of the best asian seafood flavours for years. It is my most favourite restaurant in Palm Cove, Black Pepper Prawns, Singapore Crab, Soft shell crab, the most amazing pork ribs and make sure you save room for the kaffir lime brûlée for dessert. Recently opened for weekend lunches (2023), the bao DIY platter is a lovely addition to the menu. Do yourself a favour, i’m sure like us, it will become a staple of your Palm Cove dining.

Went there when I saw they had Singapore Style Chilli Crab. Out of season for the crab was way too expensive, but had the same sauce with Prawns and it was Amazing!!

At first look at the building it looks ramshackle, but don't let that put you off - all of the food was excellent and above what we expected. Very unassuming but well worth the visit.

Delicious food and excellent service. We had the butter prawns and beef curry. Both were perfectly seasoned, well-presented, and well-priced. The owner is very attentive and provides exceptional customer service! Thanks for the great meal!

Even though we only stayed 6 nights in Palm cove, we ate here twice. The structure is rustic and relaxed, however the food was beautiful, so fresh, tasty and light. Eggnet my personal favorite, or was it the soft shell crab or the whole fried barramundi, can’t make up my mind. Very friendly and efficient service.

We had such a delicious lunch, we had the crab spring rolls, prawns in butter curry sauce and the crispy ginger whole fish. We even added crispy sticky pork ribs, so yummy, what a feast. It was our first time at Beach Almond and will become a regular visit. The owner was so helpful with the menu with respect to dishes with less chilli, lively woman. I highly recommend a visit, you will not regret it. Its not often you come across such amazing food.

The crispy fish has to be one of the best I’ve tried. Totally recommend it if you want to have good quality fish.

Absolutely could not recommend this place any more. We ordered the soft shell crab, the peppers prawns, octopus, lobster (crayfish), mussels and the scallops. The food was beautiful and the owner and son were very friendly and clearly passionate about food. Loved the fusion of indo-chinese and seafood. The only criticism was the mussels were a bit disappointing other than that service and food was on point and we'll priced.

We love this restaurant!! stunning food for lunch (on a weekend) or dinner. Beautiful views of Palm Cove beach, attentive waiters, my favorite prawn dishes in qld. We visited here every time we holidayed in FNQ. Now we live here and we still love to drop in at least every few months.

This is my second review we have been eating at Beach Almond for 6 years and have always had an excellent meal, you cannot fault the food. Time and time again the owner presents fantastic food cooked to perfection.

The food was absolutely devine. So much flavour. Love how the owner/chef came over and introduced himself and had a great chat. Great location looking over the beach too.

Amazing Mud crab and SP Squid, Love the atmosphere and great service from friendly staff aswell. A little pricey, but really worth it for the freshness and taste. Will be back for sure when visting Palm Cove again.

First time eating here and was immediately blown away by the quality of food and service. We had the Crispy Whole Fish and wok veggies to share and I've got to say that it's one of the best tasting fish I've eaten. Perfectly cooked and seasoned! They also have a huge selection of beers including several varieties of imports like Tiger and Asahi 👌 highly recommend this place!
