AJ was the answer to my Mini Cooper’s problem. He knew exactly what to look for, and his price was great .... even for a Sunday call out. Honest and trustworthy, and he won’t overcharge you, everything fully itemized on the invoice, great customer service.

The car was running a bit rough after the check engine light came on. I didn’t want to drive all the way from Palm Cove to the mechanic in Smithfield so I called AJ. He scanned the car’s computer to find out the 2nd cylinder was misfiring and narrowed down the problem to a faulty coil. He came back the next afternoon after ordering the new parts ... probably less than 30 min to instal and the car was good as new.

Great experience with AJ! I thought the car had a huge problem because the previous garage (a big brand one) said it was unfixable - he was able to fix it within minutes. So happy - he deserves more than 5 stars. Highly recommended.

AJ is a genuine and honest guy, I could tell that from speaking to him on the phone. He turned up early to fix my car, did the job in an hour and did a really good job. Best mechanic I’ve had work on my car in Cairns!
My water pump was leaking, needed to be replaced.
He Went above and beyond what I expected from a mechanic, very easy to talk too, he broke down what had happened how to fix, a quote and day it could be done. Communication in between was excellent and I had my car back earlier than expected! The little things he did you don’t get anywhere else, so if you’re looking for a honest reliable mechanic I found one!

We were visiting from the Gulf and were having issues with our shift lock. Sometimes we couldn’t get the car out of park. AJ was able to sort it out for us but also gave us some advice about some other issues that would save us money but wouldn’t give him any benefit. Definitely seems to be the sort of guy that wants the best for his customers rather than his profits. Highly recommend. Cheers

I am really impressed with this service. My alternator packed it in in the way home from work (6pm). I googled Affordable Mechanical, gave a call, and AJ came around within 15 minutes. He had diagnosed what needed to be done in 10 mins, explained the issues to me in lay persons terms, emailed me an itemized quote, and ordered the parts within the hour. Fixed the next day as well as a log book service. AJ s prices are competitive and transparent (I had 3 quotes That i compared). All work comes with a full warranty. As an added bonus AJ is a genuinely nice fella. Could not reccommend more highly.

Very good mobile mechanic with fair prices.
He changed my battery and my alternator and gave me good advice for some futur maintenance. He detected some problems my last mechanic missed less than two month ago who would have been very dangerous if left unchecked.
