The Shepherd Centre

The Shepherd Centre has been an amazing source of support to me and my family. The team care passionately about doing the best for the kids they see and are focussed on ensuring they all reach their full potential. They also have a number of programs for families as they know parent support is key to applying the strategies to boost a child's speech and language.

I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing speech and language early intervention services for their child.

The team at the Shepherd Centre, Newtown is the finest health service we have encountered.

Our daughter has unilateral hearing loss and we sought help from the Shepherd Centre when she had cochlear surgery at age 10. Their professionalism, knowledge and depth of experience is world class.

From audiologists to speech therapists, counsellors and executive, they recruit and retain talented and dedicated staff who show enormous care for their clients - specially focused on improving the lives of children with hearing loss.

We marvel at the well co-ordinated team approach and always feel supported and welcome.

Our daughter’s life has improved beyond measure in their care, and we continue to see her developing and growing with her newly acquired speaking, listening and life skills.

I've been volunteering at The Shepherd Centre for a month now and I absolutely love it. Everyone here is so welcoming, caring and passionate. As soon as you walk through the doors you feel as though you're apart of the community. Such a loving environment!

After once attending their service, I can say with confidence that they truly are the most loving and warning staff you could ever ask for. The families and stories that come out of their programs are amazing. Truly a one stop shop when embarking on your journey.

Luke and I have relied on the Shepherd Centre's incredible staff, training, assessment, counselling and compassion since he was diagnosed at birth with hearing loss. Luke is turning 5 in a week and he would not be where he is now without the SC's intervention. We owe his language development to the staff and resources there, and we're proud to be associated with the SC.
Luke faces additional developmental challenges aside from bilateral profound hearing loss but his language and speech is actually one of his biggest strengths. The audiologists and his therapist were key in encouraging and supporting us through the difficult decision of fitting Luke with bilateral cochlear implants but we haven't looked back since he received them years ago.
We owe much of Luke's current and future development and opportunities to the SC and its staff, and we are so grateful.

The Newtown centre offers free family-friendly parking in the Boundary Lane Children’s preschool next door, alternatively there is plenty of parking spaces in the surrounding streets.

It's been amazing from the start. Warm yet so professional. Our family wouldn't be where we are now without the shepherd center.

Clinicians are knowledgeable and kind. Kids love it here.

Amazing place to work for. Best work culture and dedicated staff. So passionate about what they do!
