Hotel Centennial

We recently hosted a celebratory lunch at the Apartment, Hotel Centennial. It is an absolutely stunning event space, filled with so much natural light from the beautiful arch windows that overlook Centennial Park.

While it is a perfect space for medium-large group get-togethers, the large hallway has an intimate feeling, like you're being entertained in someone's private home.

Our event staff were absolutely phenomenal. They were quick to reply to our questions and were dedicated to creating a magical event for us.

The food on the day was exceptional. The highlight for me was definitely the duck, but the perfectly crafted menu by the kitchen team was absolutely exquisite.

I highly recommend this hidden gem of a venue for any events or lunches as you will truly have an unforgettable experience.

I went here for my Godmother’s birthday and it was a wonderful experience! As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a lovely staff member and taken to your seat. The mood is very elegant and romantic as well as quiet so you can actually have a nice conversation. I ordered the salmon for my main and oven cooked prawns for the entree. I can honestly say the food was amazing and had the right ingredients and was full of flavour. There is also a bar, if you would like a little drink. The staff were all incredibly professional and friendly and many of them were French! The food is on the expensive side so you will have to take that into account if you would like to go here. Hotel Centennial is perfect for a romantic date or for a family catch up!

Very impressed with the shared duck dish. The skin was cooked to perfection and the meat was succulent. The couches were comfy and there is always attentive friendly staff at hand. Parking is very easy and accessible once you enter you are welcomed with a smile. The price is high end but well worth it, the dessert dishes are just as impressive as the mains.

Food is great. We ordered the lunch menu and it was Gillian, abundant and flavoursome. The menu takes advantage is seasonal produce which we truly appreciated and everything was delightful. Would recommend

We celebrated a birthday here. Overall great food and service. Every dish has something to remember (aka not just ordinary). Wsue had 1 glass of wine each, entre, main, desert to share between 4 girls. Cost was $93 each. Not cheap but reasonable for what we've got. I would recommend here over Fred (food was ordinary for the pirce) nearby.

We had our work Christmas lunch here and it was PERFECT.

The food was absolutely delicious and our serving team , headed up by Elodie were lovely.

I had arranged everything for our lunch with Elodie and she looked after us to perfection, taking care of our multitude of dietary needs without a bother.

Really wonderful food. Duck for two, risotto with scampi ... Excellent attentive service. You’ll need slightly deep pockets to fully enjoy.

So much effort has gone into making this place so enjoyable. It is luxurious, comfortable, welcoming and not pretentious. The staff here care about what they do and you can't ask for better. We had a long Saturday lunch, great steaks, smashed potato, green beans from some other world, served by a team who clearly love what they do. You come away from the centennial feeling like, OMG I can't go to another pub every again.

The sirloin (herb butter) chips & salad is $35 on a Monday & is the best value in town (it’s usually $52!) 🥇

I must admit that I wasn’t expecting too much from the Centennial as I haven’t been here for a long time. Used to be just a standard Paddo Pub. But I was very impressed with the food and service. The Group Menu was very good value indeed for 4 adults. Will definitely be back!

Really nice food, great place hidden away and their waffles and chocolate tart desert range is amazing. Definately recommend and would go again. They have a nice fireplace area in the bar side that is great to have a drink or desert over

Absolute perfection in the apartment. Staff were attentive but not over bearing. The food was absolutely divine and the space elegant and uncluttered. I will definitely be back. Looking forward to trying the ground floor bar/restaurant

Was our first visit and can we say, you won't be disappointed, Food and the Wine list all outstanding, attention to detail, first class, Service faultless, very friendly staff, highly recommended

The John Dory in bouillabaisse sauce was fabulous, as was the wood-oven roasted flounder. Both are terrific dishes. On the other hand, the fish cakes (last night’s special) did not measure up. Instead of being true, sautéed fish cakes, they were deep-fried balls of fish, which were a little dull. Nonetheless, the overall food and ambience were so enjoyable that we still give Hotel Centennial five stars. It’s a delightful place!

There’s something very comforting about walking into a Merivale venue. You know the service will be exemplary in that no-fuss, casual Australian way, the food very good, and the experience very easy to like. It’s a very elegant space, music is just at the right volume (on the quieter side), tables are well spaced and the staff make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Hats off to the kitchen for catering with ease to the allergies (nut, dairy and shellfish) of someone in our group - variations made, sauces on the side, care taken and we weren’t made to feel like we were an inconvenience. If only more restaurants would do this rather than point to the ‘one’ dish on the menu. Thank you, Merivale for raising the bar on being allergy friendly. Highly recommend.

Despite being part of the Merivale group, this place just has a certain charm. Food is excellent. Service is mostly good.

I visited here for a work function. Honestly... amazing food. I didn't take any photos but each dish that came out was superb. The steak was cooked to perfection - so incredibly flavoursome and tender. The fish was delicate and delicious. The chicken was cooked just right. Great ambience within the dining area. They called a taxi for us as it was raining when we were leaving. Also, immaculate bathrooms. Highly recommend.
