Waka

Waka is a hidden gem in Manly, Sydney. This cozy Japanese restaurant is tucked away on Pittwater Road, but it's definitely worth seeking out. The food is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting.

I've been to Waka several times now, and I've never been disappointed. The sushi and sashimi are always melt-in-your-mouth, and the tempura is light and crispy. I also love the gyoza, which are plump and flavorful.

Waka is a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. It's also a good option for a romantic date night.

I highly recommend Waka to anyone looking for a great Japanese restaurant in Manly.

Waka is an amazing Japanese restaurant!

We love their bento boxes and mostly get them takeaway.

The restaurant is also really cute and nice to eat at.

Really good food and pretty well priced too. V v fresh seafood.

Delicious! What a great little spot. Have had take away before but dining in us fabulous 👌 hard to get a booking, small venue n fills up quick. One big table then mainly small seating and booths - book ahead! Worth a visit.

Beautiful food, highly recommend the Tempura Udon and the gyoza. Great quality of food and amazing flavors. One of the best Japanese in Sydney we’ve tried.

We had a great dinner experience at Waka Restaurant. The food was great. We had Tasting Bento Box, Pork guioza and Hand rolls. Everything was delicious!! The staff are so friendly. Definitely I'll come back.

Impressed by the quality of the rolls, rice, taste and freshness of the assorted sashimis. Best cost benefit on the beaches.

Absolutely love everything about this place! The whole menu is amazing and delicious, never disappoints!

Fantastic price to flavour ratio, really loved the wagu beef udon, and the pork gyōza entree was equally delicious. $8 for an Asahi is relatively middle of the road, but reasonable considering the vibe of the place.

We just walked in, but apparently they prefer bookings, so worth keeping in mind.

The best Japanese in the northern beaches . Quality I recommend all sushi but my favourites are tempura squid and Teriyaki chicken . Top shelf food

Great crew working there, all passionate and you can taste it in the food. If I had to recommend a Japanese place in Sydney Waka is at the top of the list with their amazing special Spider rolls and Waka rolls especially! Can't wait to be back in the area to have more.

My favourite place to go for sushi in Manly. Their miso butter scallops are outstanding. Also love that they have BYO.

Always amazing fresh food. Recommend booking as they get busy on the weekends but always try to accomodate if they can. A big thanks to the wonderful chef Gaku for delicious sushi

Six stars - the food is delicious and really fresh. The service is very fast and friendly. We always have a wonderful time and travel an hour by car for our favourite Japanese restaurant. Thank you to the beautiful staff for making our son's belated birthday dinner special with a little surprise. Can't wait 'til our next visit :-)

Simply put - this is the best Japanese food on Sydney's Northern Beaches. I've been coming here regularly for the last 4-5 years. It is consistently outstanding food. There's a reason it's so hard to get a spontaneous reservation.

I just had the chicken karrage and carpaccio from this restaurant, and I must say, it was one of the best meals I have ever had! The chicken karrage was cooked to perfection, with a crisp exterior and juicy interior. The carpaccio was very flavorful, with a nice balance of tartness, sweetness, and savory. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and memorable experience!

Excellent food and fantastic service. Had dinner with a friend here and ordered the agadashi tofu, miso eggplant, tempura udon and the chicken katsudon. Service was quick and prices were very reasonable for Manly. Definitely making another visit.
