Harbour Rocks Hotel

A lovely historic hotel with lots of character and spaces to sit and relax at the terrace bar and Eric’s bar. Perfect location to walk to many tourist sites and a wide range of close eating places and bars. Hickson House gin tasting and tour was great and only 5 minutes walk. We returned late one night and Moss at reception looked after us very graciously as we enjoyed a nightcap.

My review is unusual as I was not a guest. My partner was a guest there and was boarding a cruise on 12/02.Being so close to Valentine's Day I wanted to surprise him with a gift on shore. I wrote to the hotel and was amazed at their optimistic response, there was no hesitation. Their excellence, effort & positivity from incredible Maxine & her team helped achieve the impossible within 24hrs.They are a busy hotel but yet they pulled out all the stops to make this happen. Also, kindly giving me the website of a local florist to contact, so useful, being that I live in spain. A delighted partner received his surprise hand delivered to his hotel room. It restored all my faith that such quality service still exists. Thank you Maxine so very much.

We arrived early from New Zealand (8:00 am) and our room was not ready. Of course, we didn't expect it to be. Josh and his team let us leave our 5 bags and 4 backpacks securely in the hotel while we ventured around Sydney for the day. They said they would call when the rooms were ready but nobody did, which was fine as we were busy exploring. We got back to the hotel around 3:00 p.m. and both rooms were ready; a double twin for our sons, which was very spacious, and to our surprise, the penthouse suite for my wife and I. This was an upgrade! We never expected such treatment and certainly didn't do anything to deserve it. Everyone at the hotel was extremely helpful and kind, from Josh (manager I assume) to Wendy (maid services) and everyone else I wish I could remember the name of, they all did remarkably well at making us feel very special. My wife really didn't want to leave. But alas we had to the next day. They kindly arranged a van for our transport to the airport, which was a nice change from a cramped Uber.
Only issue would be there is no elevator for people. There is a lift for luggage for the second and third floors which is not a problem. They will also porter your bags to your room.
Thanks so much Harbour Rocks. We will be back...maybe for New Years Eve next time, and definitely in the penthouse!

Great atmosphere, but you need to be careful with the charges.
You could find yourself with a bill that's not yours. Happened during two (2) separate stays
The best advice is not to put any charges on your room, pay in cash

Just had a quick 3-day staycation and Harbour Rocks Hotel was perfect in every way. Great location, beautiful building and rooms, friendly and helpful staff 24x7 and a location that cannot be beat - will never stay in the Sydney CBD again.

Fantastic customer service! Staff were kind & helpful. Great location - so handy to cruise terminal, public transport, CBD, & more. Room size was generous & the water pressure in the shower is perfect. Yes, due to it being a heritage building, there is no public lift. But the staff will take your luggage up to the room for you . If you have mobility issues, this property may be challenging & it would be best contacting the property prior to booking. The cafe next door makes wonderful coffee (a relief for a coffee snob as myself 😆). I look forward to staying here again!

Harbour Rocks is a lovely hotel with an enjoyable atmosphere. Services provided were excellent, with very friendly, helpful staff. The location is perfect, with many shops , a street market, and restaurants close by. Access is close and easy for The Big Bus Hop-on-hop-off, harbor tours, and cruise ship port. Great views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge are just a block away. We could see the top of the Opera House from our room! A walk down George Street provides all the shopping anyone could ever want. Our stay in Sydney was highly enhanced by the location of Harbour Rocks Hotel.

Thank you to all the staff that made our stay amazing. Our room had a faulty air con system and the staff went above and beyond to rectify the situation. Moved to even nicer room and a bottle of Moet Champagne and chocolates were left for us to apologise for the inconvenience. A great hotel in an amazing location. Highly recommended.

Great Location in The Rocks. Staff friendly. Lovely café, great coffee and crepes and nice bar and restaurant attached. The bed was very comfortable and very clean. Our rooms were spacious. We loved the outdoor courtyard with all the lights. We will be staying again.

Kudos to the management and staff of this brilliant hotel right at the hub of the harbour-side shops and tourist sites (which was especially nice for visitors from Canada, like us. From our room window we could see our big cruise ship docked just a couple of hundred yards away. and all the streets to it were downhill. If you're taking a cruise from Sydney, don't stay anywhere else. Kudos again.

This hotel was booked as part of our Trailfinders booking. Fantastic location, ferries 5mins walk away and tons of places to eat well.
Room was a little dark on ground floor and we asked to change this which they readily did. Much lighter and a bit more room on 1st floor. Amazing shower, heavenly! Staff very helpful and accommodating. Took in our bags before checking in. 3 wonderful cafe/restaurants as part of hotel. The Israeli restaurant was exceptional. Enjoyed the live music on the outdoor terrace.

What a great experience at Harbour Rocks Hotel! Such an ideal location - only a few minutes walk from Circular Quay and the room was spacious with nice welcoming touches. Exceptional service by the staff - Federico even walked with us to the train station to assist with all our bags!! Definitely recommend!

We had an overnight stay in August.

The location was absolutely fabulous, emptying out onto the markets, the harbour and a myriad of places to eat and play.

The hotel had an air of history and the industrial flavour was evident in many places. It was cool, chic and cozy.

The room was comfortable and well appointed. Eh cotton bathrobes were very much appreciated.

The restaurant downstairs was exceptional, offering Middle Eastern options and a great range of beverages. The historic atmosphere continued there too.

The staff were abundantly helpful - nothing was a problem.

This was a boutique hotel in its very finest incarnation.

I could live in this suite - just lovely, views, comfort, peace, don't need to leave the room! This is my favourite hotel - in the centre of everything at The Rocks and a beautiful, interesting, historic walk to wherever you want to go.

Not stayed here, but just wanted to say how helpful staff were on the phone today. I spent an hour trying to book a room for a friend using my Accor membership, but after repeated issues and log ins, the advertised price increased by nearly $200! I spoke to Sergio, who was very helpful and passed me on to his manager Joshua, who sorted everything out for me. My friend and his wife can now enjoy a quick break at this lovely hotel, and I am pleased to report that great service still exists here.

Wonderful staff, extremely helpful, and always smiling. The food must be tried, unusual flavours for us Brits but once tried never forgotten, highly recommended. The only downside was the room, whoever thought a room with one small and sealed window should have dark brown walls and black furniture is crazy, it was like a cave! the a/c unit had seen better days judging by the noise it made, the shower was very powerful but incredibly sensitive to set up, in our opinion almost dangerous as the water was extremely hot and the slightest touch was all it needed to be too hot. We soon learned the hard way! Highly recommended with the above provisos.

Hotel in the middle of the Rocks district. Amazing service, luggage was brought to our room and everything. In our room a bottle of champagne was waiting for us as a congratulations on our honeymoon. We had a delightful stay at the hotel. Many sights of Sydney are within walking distance.

Harbour Rocks Hotel is a favourite of ours in Sydney.
Great restaurant for breakfast and dinner.
Small bar area, complimented by an outdoor patio area if the weather supports.
The happy hour drink options could do with improvement as they are very limited, the same as the complementary drinks.
Nice rooms, we have stayed many times, always a different room.
This hotel is also positioned very well to explore Sydney by foot, from the Botanical Gardens to Darling Harbour and Barangaroo.

We were upgraded to the most beautiful suite, we had the best service, the most delicious wine and the weather also put on a show for us to see the Harbour in all it's Glory! Thank you!
