The Star Grand Hotel

What an amazing place, so good is the service here my family and I are regulars when it comes to staycations and business trips into the city. My podcast is also filmed here. Our overseas from visitors won’t stay anywhere else. Every single time as a valued member, I have been upgraded to the BEST room in the Grand Residence Apartments. The concierge desk is outstanding, the restaurants “where I am now friends with the manager”, and the parking attendees are first class. Highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel. Great service. A lot of food options, convenience store on site. Buffet 🔥 Rooms beautiful & LARGE, decently priced (for americans) . Security very attentive, which is a plus for us.. Spa, Pool, Gym... Overall we had a great time. Will likely stay here our next trip..

A casino first and a hotel second. The room size was great. We did get put in the worst side of the hotel without the cbd view. Bathroom was a decent size. Our king bed was actually two singles pushed together which is poor form. The beds were very comfortable.
Mini bar is order via the internet.
Buffet breakfast was amazing. The best buffet I have ever had. There are so many choices, it is overwhelming. The restaurant does look like a cafeteria though.

I'm giving 5 stars because we have always had great rooms, great service and a great experience at The Star Grand Hotel Darling Harbour.
Yes, the rooms are a little dated now but they are well laid out, have always been very clean and the beds are also comfortable. We have been coming back to Sydney for around 10 years and only once stayed somewhere else (The Darling, next door) and that experience was enough to send us back to The Star quick smart! Every room we have ever stayed in has been spacious and luxurious with an awesome view.
If you want 5 star luxury that is also great value for your $ you can't go past The Star at Darling Harbour.

This is a place with lovely views on either side and well worth the money you pay for it. The room was lovely and clean, and the staff were very professional on check-in, and I had no issues with my stay.
If you ever get the chance, come check it out... there's always things to see and do.

A great experience, pool, spa and gym all top quality venues. Rooms are very comfortable but a little on the small size. Location in Ultimo is a little far from CBD to walk but an inexpensive taxi ride. I am in awe of the size and grandeur of the public spaces and entries.

The beds 🛌 wer very comfortable & our room was clean with an excellent view, worth the price we paid. Staff could of been a bit more pleasant tho. It's gota a great pool, good to keep kids entertained 😀. Star 🌟 is starting to show its age, due for a revamp. All in all a good stay...

The tv doesn’t connect via Apple TV. Other than that it was still pretty good. They have an excellent ice cream shop next to it as well. 😀

Staycation in the Star Grand Residences was superb, we had a 1 bedroom + office suite with a large kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a balcony with district views. This particular room was very luxurious while still being reasonably priced for Sydney, which is generally an overpriced city all round. The fixtures and fittings were very high end, with marble throughout and automated blinds, along with large TVs and high quality furniture and bedding. Room service food was good based on what we had, being a perfectly cooked medium rare steak, however, the room service staff were a little on the cold side, not friendly but not rude. The draw card is obviously having the casino downstairs which can be fun, and the famous Sydney fish markets are about 10mins walk around the corner, with some very busy roads to cross, but definitely worth the effort. I will book this room again for sure.

Lucy at the front desk is a star (no pun intended) and sorted my booking issue professionally and quickly. Stayed at the grand residence apartments and decor was quite nice and modern. Comfy beds, ambient lighting options. Loved inbuilt Chromecast. Kids loved the heated pool and jacuzzi. The fabric couch however is a bit aged and not quite fitting with the rest of the apartment.
Location wise pretty good if going for the casino but can be a little far to some things with young kids. Noted the light rail is available but was not operating during our stay due to maintenance. Overall a very pleasant stay and will come again if the opportunity arises.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the star grand and I must say it was a truly memorable experience.Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly receptionist, Dita, who made the check-in process seamless and efficient. Her warm smile and professional demeanor immediately put me at ease after a long journey. Throughout my stay, found the hotel's staff to be attentive, courteous, and always ready to assist.

This is our second stay at the Star and each stay has been a pleasant experience.
Choosing to stay at the Star again we were not let down, in fact this visit was exceptional!
Every member of staff was extremely helpful and polite. It’s the service that makes all the difference and staff at the Star go that extra mile to ensure your holiday experience is one to remember.
A special surprise for no apparent reason other than kindness! A fabulous room which was very comfortable and kept immaculate and well stocked by the house keeping staff.
The concierge service could not be faulted, they were more than accommodating when arranging our transport.
The reception staff were also very helpful and happy to assist us by printing boarding passes and answering any queries we had.
We have travelled the world and can put the Star experience up there as one of the best.

Amazing stay at The Star Grand Hotel! Well appointed and comfortable rooms with amazing views of the harbour! Just visited Flying Fish for dinner and had an amazing meal! Will definitely be back to stay next time!

I recently celebrated a special birthday here and it exceeded my expectations. Eyad is an absolute gem and extremely valuable asset to The Star team. He was incredibly kind, welcoming & professional. I was generously upgraded to the royal suite and it was one of the most luxurious rooms I’ve stayed in, compared to other high end hotels I’ve visited here in Sydney. The split level feature really impressed me, with a breathtaking floor-to-ceiling glass view, fully functional kitchen, separate living and dining areas & huge ensuite with spa bath. The bed was so comfortable, I didn’t want to leave the next morning! I can’t wait to come back & experience more of the hotels facilities. All of the staff from valet, to room service and front desk were amazing but I have to give a special thank you to Eyad for his outstanding service and warmth.

From entrance to the lobby and speaking with front desk, the person there was friendly and super helpful. I stayed in a Superior King room which had everything I needed plus a lot of space. I arrived late and so had to resort to Room Service which was timely and arrived hot. I was staying for 3 nights so didn't ask for too much from housekeeping but they cleaned the room as usual. Breakfast had a lot of variation but the dining room seemed a bit dated but you don't eat off the walls so no biggie. Other than that, highly recommended and yes - I would stay there again.

Staying in 2 bdrm apartment. Nice finishes but no cooking facilities or microwave. Only refrigerated drawer, no fridge. Difficult to raise housekeeping. Had to ring concierge. Asked for 3 new bath towels only brought 2. No kitchen sink plug or tea towel but small dish liquid tube. Clean room but pillowcase marked. Housekeeping came after first night so that was a bonus.

We were absolutely thrilled to be upgraded from a single room to a 3 bedroom apartment for our family of 4. Such a kind gesture that has made our stay so special! The hotel is beautiful, just what you'd expect of a 5 star hotel. We love that there are so many restaurants as well as more casual places to eat in the hotel itself, it really makes it easy with kids. The heated pool on Level 5 is just incredible. It was raining a little today but that didn't matter at all for swimming because it's so warm and just a lovely experience. The location is fabulous, within walking distance of attractions such as the Aquarium and Paddy's Markets. There's also a Coles and a Liquorland within a few minutes walk for any snacks etc you might need.

Just spent the night at The Star Grand for my birthday with my wife & we had a tremendous stay, loved it. On check in we got a free upgrade to the Star Suite Harbour View and the views of the harbour & city were sensational. The room is huge with an ensuite bathroom and 2nd toilet. The Nachos $21 in the 24/7 bar is a winner and the breakfast buffet is superb with a huge variety of tasty food, one of the best we’ve been to. Everything was just excellent and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
