High Tea at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal

Excellent 16th birthday celebration high tea!
Thank you so much to everyone at Crowne Plaza who went above and beyond to ensure my twin daughters 16th birthday high tea went off without a hitch.
Being teenage girls, they had quite a few expectations that were easily met with the staff going above and beyond to ensure their celebration was everything they expected. I cannot fault anything on the day, the staff, the location, the ambience was definitely up to the Crowne Plaza standard.
The girls and their friends had a wonderful experience and I highly recommend anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion to ring and outline your expectation because the staff will do everything they can to meet them. Thanks again!

Thank you to The Crown for an amazing birthday breakfast buffet! Delicious spread and fantastic service made my day truly special. Also, thank you to the Colombian girl from the Coffee staff, she was amazing and very kind :)

The high tea experience here is very good value for money. The food was just as good as some very expensive places we have been to. Would highly recommend the apple pie and vanilla tea too! The room for the high tea is stunning and looks out over the beach.

Celebrated my baby sprinkle today at Crowne Plaza Terrigal high tea. The food was fantastic however the service wasnt as attentive as I would have expected. We did receive attention once without having to flag down a waitress, the rest of the time however, when we were looking to order more tea / beverages it was difficult to get the staff attention, eventually we could order more tea and everything was well made, hot and delicious. At the end of the meal we were able to ask one of the staff to take a group photo which was appreciated. When paying for our group I was also charged a credit surcharge which I questioned as I had not been informed of it prior (when booking or confirming) and I inserted my card and paid via a savings account, the staff member said it was an automatic fee included with the bill. I found this odd but didn't argue. All in all I had a lovely time with my friends in a lovely setting to celebrate but I would hope for a more attentive service in the future.

This was my third time having high tea at Crowne Plaza. The food was very good, and the view of the ocean is great. This time the service was poor or non-existent. To start, we were shown to the wrong table and then had to move - not great when you are aged in your 70s. The food and tea / coffee arrived and everything was great. But, that was the last we saw of any staff. We had to go up to the bar to ask for our glasses of bubbly, and then go up again 15 minutes later when they hadn't arrived. At the end of the meal, we had to go up to the bar again to ask for coffee to finish the meal. Two hours and nobody came near us to ask if everything was ok. Even when I paid the bill, I wasn't asked if everything was ok which was probably good because I would have told them it wasn't. I did email Crowne Plaza but unsurprisingly didn't receive a reply.

Great food and view

Really disappointed with my last high tea at Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza Terrigal. After an enjoyable previous experience, I organised to go again with other family members. Whilst the view over the ocean was beautiful, the transformation of the library into a dining area was totally lacking atmosphere and to have high tea served in thick glass cups from a glass teapot was a disgrace when it would be reasonable to expect quality china.
The sweets and sandwiches were good, but the pastries were disappointing.
I won't be going again.

Mother’s Day high teas. What a disgrace. Dry sandwiches, over cooked sad quiche and thawed out frozen sweets.
So disappointing for $99 each. Only bonus was the alcohol was included and the barman was efficient. If it wasn’t for the view and drinks I’d rate this zero stars for food. So disappointing for the $500 I spent for my family we had to do drive through on the way home.
