Ruby's Cafe & Books

Nice cafe with a large dining table seating six at the rear. Old books on shelves around the walls at the back. They smell a bit musty, but I liked the atmosphere they created. Everything we ordered was great. Good service from friendly staff.

The burger was flavourful, and the chips were a bit too crispy but still tasty
I also had iced chocolate, which was refreshing to drink

A super cosy and beautifully adorned cafe in a cute seaside town :-) Was furnished with lots of little Victorian trinkets like tea cups, and had tons of books!!! Even saw some classic leather-bound editions on the shelves.
Food was good and the atmosphere was very welcoming and warm! The owners are always smiling.
Will definitely come back here next time I visit Sydney :-)

Really friendly and personable staff! We came for breakfast three times during our holiday, and weren't dissapointed 😊 Would recommend the tropical smoothie and the 'french toast meets pancakes'. Super delicious!

Great coffee & excellent service! The cakes were fresh and delectably creamy - perfect pairing with coffees! Meals are reasonably priced…the place is clean and cozy . Great experience for a weekend café treat.

Don't a book by its cover. Go where the locals go.
Just like the understated shop front. The breakfast was cooked really well. Service was incredible!!!
When the locals call the Barista by name upon entering, sits down, order is prepared and delivered within literally 2 minutes from the time they entered into the front door. customer service speaks volumes.
Honestly I have rarely seen such attention to detail, placement of coffee / food orders. Without the customer saying anything.

Ruby's is always a pleasure to visit! Excellent coffee and treats plus larger meals if you need one. A huge range of books to browse too. It wasn't me that bought the mystery bouquet for the staff, but it may well happen... Love it 💘💎

An amazing, Great cafe filled with wonderful friendly staff, great food and selections, great coffees and a nice touch of option to browse the back bookstore and pickup a read for a great price while you relax and enjoy the humble atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back regularly, one of my favourite places to come and relax and close to the beach if you fancy takeaway food/coffee and a stroll on the sand. 😁👌

Update Jan 2022: We still got there as its one of the two decent breakfast cafes left in Umina. We still have the omelette (sadly no more asparagus) and french toast and its just as good as the halcyon pre-COVID days. Congratulations for surviving when so many did not. Relaxed atmosphere and a slightly more limited COVID menu. Great coffee.
We go there weekly for bacon, asparagus and tomato omelette. Amazing. French toast is also to die for.
