Mortdale Wishbone Chickens

Been coming to this place for years. Chicken is always great not to mention the chips.. yummy.
Also got my son 18th birthday catered from this place the value for money fresh not to mention everyone loved the salads tastes so good.

Been coming here for years (decades actually), so it's high time I wrote a review. So what differentiates Wishbone?

They are consistent, day or night, weekday or weekend. Their BBQ chicken, chips and wraps are very good. As other's have mentioned, their salads are excellent. Now I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I think their burgers are up their with the best in Sydney. If you reminisce about the satisfying milk bar burgers you would buy in the 80s and 90s, then this is that burger, in all its glory!

Best chickens in Sydney, lovely stuffing, they have a large variety of beautiful salads, rice & pasta dishes made fresh daily, yummy burgers, wraps & chips & I especially love the rice pudding, fruit salad, chicken & mushroom pasta & potato bake 😋, they also have a variety of fried foods, all this + happy & friendly owners ( Manny, & his parents) & staff who look after their regulars/locals & always throw a little something extra in with your order, great family business that I highly recommend 😊🙂😊 not to mention they also help raise money for local charities & aged care giving back to their local community 😊 🍗🍔🍟💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This has to be one of the treasures of Sydney. The salads are awesome, chicken and burgers awesome, the service was great and the whole experience leaves me wishing there were many more of this kind of wonderful old style family business. Highly recommended. I am not a local but makes me want to call in if ever in the area. What a great place.

I’ve never been here before and I bought your grain salad . I just want to commend you on how lovely that was , packed with expensive ingredients, nutritious and absolutely delicious. Thank you . Amazingly tasty salads with fresh ingredients. Chicken is tender and tasty! Stuffing and gravy also delicious. Totally recommend.

Favourite local chook shop. I always get a whole roast chicken with stuffing. The meat is never dry, always tasty, hot and fresh. It costs more than supermarket roast chook but is worth the money and better in quality and value. Highly recommend.

Loved the chicken, very succulent and juicy. Excellent range of salads, not just your ordinary ones, they have a good variety of designer salads. Enjoyed the chicken burgers (yum yum). Overall experience and customer service is very good. Would go back again for more.

I love their chickens they are so juicy and melt in your mouth. They have a large variety of salads which are fresh and their chips are THE BEST IN SYDNEY!!! My partner loves the snitzels and their pasta bake are delicious. Its up the road from me and they are beautiful people, with great service.

This truly magnificent fast food outlet is absolutely world famous in Mortdale and surrounds. Classic charcoal chicken, decent chips, and other associated fried food treats are served fresh and cared for. The highlight is a decent variety of really really good salads which are available in generous and very decently priced servings. Mixing and matching salad varieties is approved and easily make a meal in themselves. The staff are absolutely delightful, are on very familiar terms with regular customers and also smiley and welcoming to new customers. I applaud and highly recommend this Mortdale legend.

Succulent BBQ chicken is always on point. They have several different salad options which are made fresh daily to suit everyone’s preferences. Service is good. Manny and the team run a quality local take away joint. 5 stars!

My workplace regularly gets food from Wishbone. The staff are always friendly, the salads delicious and fresh, the chicken is delicious as are the chips. Consistently good

Great, friendly staff. Always polite and often throw in a few free potatoes or a salad!
Food is great, old school burgers and crispy chips. Good value, burgers are huge.

Visiting from Melbourne had half chicken pack - delicious moist chicken, tasty stuffing and fresh yummy salad - great value with chips for $20. Will be back when we’re next in Mortdale.
