Australia Post - Surry Hills Post Shop

My experiences at this post office have always been positive. The staff are friendly and do their very best to help, even when it’s very busy - which it can be at times.

After reading the reviews, I was somewhat hesitant to visit the location to pay my bills. However, my experience was neutral. I didn't feel exceptionally unwelcome or hostile, but nor did I feel like I was being greeted with open arms or a red carpet (which was very disappointing 😜). There were several employees working, and while they didn't get the champagne out for me, they seemed friendly enough. It was very full though, which is not surprising since it's the only post office around this area...

Absolutely no issues and staff were very patient and friendly

The staff are under pressure most of the time dealing with abusive customers who wants things that cannot be provided. Most customers get told something they don’t like and then they look for the smallest little thing and make it a big issue and a negative about the shop. I just wish the people that want to express their opinions about the staff or the shop, could at least spell correctly. Lucky you don’t work in a post office where accuracy counts.

Always helpful and they try their best under pressure. We’ve had everything delivered there over the past few years and no issues!

The service has been fantastic and everyone is very helpful. Also , why do posters here choose to single out people by race? We know who they are, Australia fortunately is no longer what you would rather it to be.

I can see some people don't like the service here but overall my visit was great. The post officers are super speedy and told me everything I needed to know. My application got filled out very quickly and she was super polite when I didn't have everything ready. Also dog friendly which is nice.

Found the staff really helpful. Even though it was busy they were patient and could not have been better.
Have also renewed my passport here with no problems. They are experienced and good at guiding you through all the steps.

Just wanted to jump on here to say thank you to all the staff at the Surry HIlls post office. I have been going for years, and they have had to put up with rude and impatient customers during covid. Working with masks on, changing restrictions and dealing with difficult customers isn't something we could all do. Many of the team have been here for years and it's really nice having a community post office with ongoing staff who know all their regulars - appreciate the work you guys do!

I haver been in almost every day for years and I have nothing but admiration for the staff at Surry Hills. They have to tolerate rude and impatient customers who forget they served the long lines, every day of the Covid lockdown, risking their health for us. They have been under intense pressure and deserve nothing but praise and a big bonus. Some privileged customers expect the staff to be everything to everyone. Its a complex job and they have to deal with so many different people. I know everyone of the staff and they are all competant at their jobs.Personally I could not do what they do. Perhaps Australia Post could open another postoffice in Zetland and take some pressure off Surry Hills.

I'm surprised to see so many bad reviews. I've been attending this branch even before they moved to crown st and always experienced great service with plenty of help from staff for all my different questions.

The parcel collection is open from 6:30am on weekdays. The team here work very hard to get through the long lines. Very grateful!

A shame they have moved further away, due to the development of the Surry Hills shopping centre. They are still a great, local post office with friendly staff.

I have been receiving and sending many post through this post office branch and ALL the staff here have provided excellent services.

I went there so desperately and they sent my letter and solve my problem. They are pacient and lovely. The postmen are amazing.
