Coogee Family Medical Centre

I have been a patient of Dr Mary Kearney for many years now. She is by far the best doctor I have ever had and I refer all my girlfriends to her who all love her just as much. The reason she is a good doctor is because she is extremely warm and caring and asks the questions to make sure you are treated properly. I always feel safe seeing Dr Kearney as I know she genuinely cares and wants to see you be well. Dr Kearney also has a great network of specialist who she refers to, all I have been referred to have been excellent.
When Dr Kearney has been off work I have seen Dr Graham Brierley and Dr Karen Ryan, both are very kind doctors too.
You do need to wait most times you visit but I don't mind as I expect it to happen no matter where I go to see a doctor.

I would like to publicly thank Coogee Family Medical Centre for efficiently providing Covid Vaccine. Abbey at the reception was always friendly and helpful too. I am a health care worker and it was very difficult to get the vaccine anywhere in the Eastern suburbs. My GP, two suburbs away from Coogee only offered vaccines to their own patients (so I got my 1st vaccine there) but my husband who is also a health care worker has a different GP in the Eastern suburbs and his GP was not offering the vaccines. Big problem with the rollout from the top end!! I could not secure a vaccine for my husband from any medical practice in the Eastern suburbs, they all said they only offer it to their own patients or leave our name on the waitlist, never heard back from them(after 12 weeks now). Abbey on the phone said Coogee Family Medical Centre offer vaccines to new patients too and my husband received his 1st vaccine only 2 weeks after I had mine. Right now, Greater Sydney is in lockdown and my GP has closed her rooms and sent me a text message to say my 2nd vaccine is cancelled! I can't believe that during this pandemic a medical centre would cancel a vaccine scheduled for a healthy patient who should be receiving the 2nd dose on time. I am still seeing my own patients for emergency and essential care. And I am risking my health and my young children's health in looking after those in need. And I am desperately looking to find who can give me this 2nd vaccine on time when my own GP has let me down! Coogee Family Medical centre had come to the rescue again. Thanks to their online booking system , I had a a peace of mind securing the vaccine instead of ringing around medical centres over the weekend. The whole organisation at Coogee Family Medical Centre must be doing something right, to secure enough vaccine for everyone including new patients as well as have professional and friendly staff at the desk. Congratulations and thank you for your help!

Dr Mary Kearney is a great doctor. She is very thorough, considerate and understanding. We need more GPs like her!!

Took my elderly mother here to get her COVID vaccine on a saturday. Reception was very friendly and the whole experience ran smoothly.

I wanted a simple script and the process took all of three minutes with the doctor. He insisted on doing a bit more backstory and a few checks which was nice to see. Thorough and professional.

I am a very anxious person, especially going to the doctors but Dr Ryan put me at ease and checked everything I was concerned with and I really appreciate that in a doctor as I have had some bad experiences at other practices.
