CADEN Carbon Bike Wheels

Have been looking for a good set of wheels for a while now and finally decided on the 49mm DECADENCE Carbon Wheels. Australian made as well. Ben was very helpful with some very good tips for install of cassette and delivery was quick. Very good weight saving over my original Reynolds Carbon 40mm wheels. All other reviews I had read only give these wheels as fast and exceptional. Now to go and burn off my mates.

Bought my second pair of wheels off Ben. Loved the first ones. Bought 59 x 81 rim brakes for my old Wilier that I had fully refurbished. Ben was very helpful with some tips and tricks. Recommend these wheels smooth and pretty good with cross winds.

Caden wheels are impressively fast!
Noticeably faster my DT Swiss wheels at half the price. The elite workmanship and quality of Caden wheels are evident in their smooth ride and durability, making them a fantastic choice for any serious cyclist.

Have been riding the wheels for about 3 months now and they are fantastic. Responsive handle well in wind and no issues to report. A very good upgrade for any rider.

Purchased a set of wheels from Ben @ Caden Wheels in January this year after a number of years enjoying road cycling. I thought the customer service was fantastic as Ben, himself, was happy to speak over the phone about his product and offer expert knowledge about how to run the wheels for maximum benefit. Payment was easy and safe, and delivery was made efficiently to my local post office. Extremely happy with the quality of the product and feeling content knowing that if there are any issues they will be resolved quickly by Ben. Overall, would highly recommend. 5/5!

Its coming up to 2 years since I bought my wheels from Ben. After an excellent discussion on the phone, I went with the 45mm tubeless disc even though I intended to run tubes with normal clincher tyres. The main attraction for me was the extra width. I am running 28mm Vittoria Corsa tyres (measured width on is 29.5mm) and latex tubes and they run beautifully. I have not one regret in buying these wheels. The first thing I noticed was all my downhill Strava segment PBs dropped. They are very stable in high winds and they're still as true as the day I brought them home. I've only had aluminium wheels on my road bikes before to compare to but I did have Zipp 808s on my triathlon bike and these things 'feel' just as fast. I believe they are remarkable value for money and I could not recommend them any more highly.

Now four months in on these new wheels clocking up close to 2000km distance & 17000m of elevation and I can honestly say these 49mm Decadence carbon clinchers are exceptional wheels. Fast, smooth & stable in all conditions. Great Aussie developed product backed by genuine professional service from a bloke that knows his craft. Do yourself a favour and give these wheels a crack. You will be impressed.

I bought Decadence wheels 2 years ago. They are such a beautifully crafted wheel and spin super fast. Love them. Even better than the wheels though has been the service I received from Ben. Through no fault of the wheel I caused a minor nick in the carbon edge of the wheel on my Sunday group ride. I sent photos of the damage to Ben on a Sunday night. By 6.45 the next morning I had an email responding to me saying to call him to discuss. Ben asked for more photos and then once seeing those he reassured me it was only cosmetic and the wheel would be fine. Two weeks later and it is.
A great product, but even better excellent customer care years later.

Best set of wheels I’ve ever ridden. I purchased 59mm rim brake carbon clinchers. Came with everything I needed to go riding immediately. Brakes work better than my previous alloy wheels. I was worried the wheel width being wider might cause issues on my older frame but they fit perfectly and I have as much room as with an older style wheel with a narrow rim. Customer service and communication throughout has been excellent and the tips and tricks posted on his YouTube channel are great. If these wheels ever wear out then I will definitely be buying another set!

Waited to give them a good run before leaving feedback. Awesome wheels! Very durable and fast. Ben was very communicative - the box was completely mangled by the postal service. I almost refused post but glad I didn't. I did contact Ben and he assured me that the wheels are pretty tough - sure enough mounted them and they appear true and without damage. I am looking forward to many more miles on them. Thanks so much!

I bought a set of deCADENce 45mm tubeless wheels to replace my damaged stock alloy hoops. First set of carbon rims I've owned, so I don't have much to compare them to, but I have to say.... I love these wheels! I've put 1400km on them so far, both road riding (28mm slicks) and gravel tracks (38mm knobbly tires). They are light, stiff and responsive. Freehub and bearings are, so far, going great. I have a history of breaking spokes, cracking rims and blowing up freehubs. Time will tell if these wheels stand up to my abuse. However, the materials used and features of the wheels makeup suggest they will be more durable than my previous wheelsets. Given the price, you cannot go past these wheels for value compared to other brands in the same league.

Ben was a pleasure to deal with. Always responsive to emails and full of tips to get the most out of the wheels.

Looking forward to many more KMs riding on these wheels.

Highly recommend Caden wheels. Service was exceptional with Ben going out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. I've now been riding the wheels for a few months and absolutely love them.

I have just purchased a set of deCADENce 49mm rim brake wheels from Caden. They are great - roll really smoothly and are light and fast and fitted straight out of the box. Everything you need supplied. The service was great also. Highly recommended.

I purchased this last weekend and they were on my doorstep a few days later in Melbourne. Excellent service.

I chose the 38 Decedance rim and fitted them no issues, the reviews were correct they are easy to install remove the tyres vs my other wheelsets.

The first thing i noticed when on the bike stand is how true they were, their first ride was a 140km endurance and they roll really well.

The weights are as advertised. I weighed each rim and it was give or take a gram.

With these my TCR is now 6.5kg with peddels, cages and garmin!

Its taken a while to write this review since putting these wheels on my bike. Ive been sick, working and Winter just got in the way. I have however now been out on 2 rides in very different conditions and am here to report my views.

Communicating with Ben over the phone its easy to sense his passion and you very quickly get an understanding of the why behind his design and concept. Ben even discussed tyre pressures and was very specific about sizing also ( Run a 23mm up front )

Receiving the wheel set
Wheels came very well packaged, and were protected adequately with out either skimping over doing it. The cardboard box was solid.

Setting up
Took about 10minutes to set them up as swapping bike wheels out is not just 'Plug and Play' Disc brake calipers need to be re-set

I really thought that the front end of my bike was going to behave more like a kite than a bike today and i was overly cautious. My previous 50mm DT Swiss Wheels were notorious for side ways movement.
These wheels remained planted, and gave me confidence to pick up the pace a little. There were times when breaks in the road furniture created a little panic but nothing out of control. The rear end remained super stable. The tyre pressure and 23mm Tyre up front was super noticeable. I expected it to feel more like riding through custard in the back and harsh up front. In actual front, the tyre pressure dampened the bumps and it allowed me to keep the bike in a straight line as much as possible due to the wind.
Overall, I was super impressed with what I experienced on this day.

Very little wind today so the speed was up.
The most noticeable thing about the wheels today was the sound when you put down the power. There was this wooshing sound which sounded just like the the Lightweight Wheels some of the others in the bunch ride.
Solid feel, rapid acceleration.
Cannot rate them for how they may behave in the hills as there is very little around here to give that comparison at the moment.

Visually the wheels look amazing and the attention to detail is impressive. The Spoke Lacing is unusual but I understand why after researching it and discussing with Ben.

Small issue
I did expect to receive Valve extenders for the wheels but no real issue. I did have some in my spares. However, my valve extenders are a smooth barrel and the rattle between the extender and the rim was driving me nuts. problem solved but placing a piece of electrical tape over the valve extender and sticking it down on the rim. It was cut to a circle so is very much hidden and discreet.

Overall, I really think Ben, his team, his brand, his passion and his product deserves a 5 star rating. Comparing them to both my DT Swiss laced to DT Swiss 180 Hubs, and my Zipp 303 laced to Chris King hubs, I believe the Decadence wheels nudge out the others on many fronts.

Do yourself a favor, support local and get the very best product out there. These wheels are making the big dogs take a serious look at what they bring to the table.

I purchased a set of Caden 49mm clincher rims and had them fitted by Ben. After an extensive period of time deciding on an upgrade to carbon wheels we chose Ben because of price, it is an Australian company and he had good reviews from the triathlon community.

I can’t rate Ben and his business highly enough. Ben provided his complete and undivided attention when we took in the QR TT bike to fit the wheels to his Coogee based business. It took Ben two hours to set up the bike, but that included a number of adjustments and tests before he was happy with the bike’s setup. It is not uncommon for a TT rim break bike to take this long mainly due to the rear direct mount brake calliper. Something to consider when you buy any carbon wheels online and you fit them yourself. Ben also provided some great advice on topics of regular debate, such as tubules / clinchers and different tyre / tubes and tyre pressures.

Ben provided a quick turnaround from when the wheels were ordered to setting up the bike as I had a race at Husky, I was all set to race that weekend. As for wheel performance, the wheels were comfortable to ride on over a half Ironman distance, on regional roads and the handling was good where I didn’t need to break my position on the aero bars and they felt fast on the flats and downhill compared to my alloy rims.

Purchased a rear disc and front tri spoke for Ironman and 70.3 races. Excellent build quality and very light. I was impressed with the stability of the trispoke in the wind. Ben provided great insight to best setups. Should be considered by anyone looking for TT race wheels.

So happy with my experience with Ben and my Caden's. I left Ben a voicemail not long before X-mas and wanted to see whether my custom order could be shipped before the holidays. A few text messages later and I had my order in and the box arrived a week later.
The wheels are fantastic - so well made, light and damn fine looking. Not to mention the regular PR's on strava as an added bonus.
