Fantastic energy, great music and delicious coffee.

Had a savoury muffin which was a bit unremarkable. But served with butter and honestly the coffee was so good I didn't care :)

Funky little hole in the wall cafe, with wonderful and friendly staff.
The coffee was perfectly made, and there wasn't a large wait. Not cheap, but worth it for the sustainability sourced single origin beans!

Kwila is a true treasure for the urban culinary explorer. Outstanding coffee paired with simply great food makes this cafe one to add to the list for any true foodie. We tried the cold drip, chai, flat white, Sunrise Bowl, and smashed avo and every one of them was top notch. The space is eclectic, warm, and welcoming.

It’s my first time coming here to sit jn ,because I wanna enjoy the coffee with real coffee cup not take away , the place is full of young heart , quiet fast paced but staffs are really taking care of my need , the music was playing quiet fast paced too , so if u are looking for a calm quiet place I think it would effect your mood a bit ,
Amy was a really kind girl that taking care of my need and got me smash avo bowl which is lovely , I can feel she is a caring soul , and baristas when he delivered his coffee to me I also felt quiet warm and loved and caring , I would say stuffs made my visiting very welcoming and place is comfortable and open . I love my food and coffee so I would def visit again , smashed avo bowl is quiet a huge potions in my POV and taste was really yummy

Really small place but great coffee and good vibes!

This place is lovely! It is a great location, just one street back from the main road, but it is quiet and has a lovely atmosphere. Staff are friendly and quick in their service. I had a delicious, fresh toastie that they put together in front of me and a latte with it. A great place to read a book on a lunch break.

Good quality espresso and batch brew. The space is cozy but they still have a good selection of sweet and savory pastries.

The coffee here is amazing and well worth a visit just for this however the staff here are also super friendly and the avo on toast is one of my favourite things

If you're after consistently great coffee and fantastic service look no further. I stumbled across this little gem back in January and can say it's been my go to coffee shop ever since. Even though I haven't had a chance to taste the food, colleagues can't get enough of their avo on toast or their delicious home-made soups. The fact that it's tucked away only adds to its character. If you haven't gone out it on the coffee list, oh and remember to take your own cup to get a discounted coffee.....

Brilliant coffee and the people here are super nice. They roast their own and whenever I can I buy the whole beans for the machine at home which, has produced some brilliant shots. My personal fave in Surry Hills!

Nice quiet spot with excellent coffee and toast

Following a comprehensive exploration of numerous coffee shops around Sydney, particularly in the Surry Hills area, since moving from Oxford, UK, Kwila is my favourite. That is certainly a compliment as this is an area heavily saturated with very good coffee establishments.

There are numerous reasons for my positive review. Firstly and most importantly the coffee served here is fabulous in aroma and flavour. Additionally, observing, and listening to the owners and their staff, it is clear all share a true passion for what they do. This passion is evident as they research, source, and roast their coffee in-house.

I like the unpretentious, compact, yet warm decor and inviting style evident throughout the cafe. This extends to all the staff. They are friendly, approachable, unassuming and always willing to chat. Being a avid football (soccer) fan it’s been lovely to chat and share my passion with one of the knowledgeable baristas while sipping on a lovely flat white.

If you are looking for great tasting speciality coffee, in a relaxed, lovely venue look no further than this hidden gem.
