Ambiance was really peaceful and cozy...movie house is just right...food is superb for vegetarian/vegan meal. Just love total experience 😘

I heard about this place (and saw their funky printed schedules) back in 2002, and knew I had to check it out when I came back to Australia. The vegetarian buffet is absolutely delicious. I did not miss meat at all! You can eat your fill of a variety of dishes for a fair price, and because it’s vegetarian and low-carb, you dont feel too full after. The big windows and balcony make for a pleasant view, and I appreciated the “very very hot” sauce on the side you could add to your plate to spice it up. The movie room is sooo comfortable. You get to recline fully with pillows to prop you up. Screen is big and you feel immersed in the movie. A+

I’ve been here multiple time for the vegetarian buffet in the movie, and I’ve both had great experience. We love the food it’s fresh vegetarian and they have white variety of options from Indian and Italian soups salads and the movie is so comfortable like a movie in bed.

So good! Vegan buffet was incredible, with labels for the dairy dishes. Staff were great, and it had a nice relaxing vibe. Movie theatre was super cosy too!

Divine food and cosy cinema upstairs. Their all you can eat buffet is a sumptuous feast. Try their heavenly daal (lentil soup) with rice accompanied by korma, heathy salads, pappadoms and pasta. We watched Bohemian Rhapsody which was a great dinner + movie double. Friendly welcoming service, great value for money, comfy cinema and tasty food. Hare Krishna!

I was pleasantly surprised by what Govinda's had to offer.
There was a small variety of food for a buffet, but the dishes were really yummy.
Lots of flavour and will tickle your fancy if you love your carbs! Baked pasta, brown and basmati rice, sourdough bread, to go with a variety of staple dishes. Really liked the kofta balls, vegetable curry, fried cauliflower.

First time trying Indian vegetarian food and it surprisingly good.

Good food and service. Somewhat cozy place and homelike touch to the theaters. Blankets provided as well and everyone served the customer with a smile. Was a great experience. Dozed off in the movies since it was too cozy.

Wonderful food and all you can eat. Just be careful to not over do it. Easy to do because the dishes are all perfect. Amazing value and delightful staff too

Very nice and cozy place with a great buffet. It is quite cheap with $22 per buffet and you can go as many times as you like. The service was great and food too.

Great Vegetarian Food.Geat variety catering for most palletes .Now it is less oily, not very "Hot"They have awesome selection of east and west meals ,gluten,free love the fritters and hot chutney is HOT,in fact everything is yummy.

Rented out the cinema and had dinner upstairs at the buffet for my birthday. SUCH a great experience. The cinema is cosy and comfy and the sound quality is excellent. An intimate location with delicious options at the buffet. Tony, the owner, had fantastic communication leading up the event and all the staff made my night really seamless.
Highly recommend for any private events or just a lovely night out!

Food is always amazing, and the lie-down cinema is THE BEST. Do the food-n-movie combo, and you won't be disappointed. It's just a little bit expensive, so better suited to a date or special occasion than every weekend. Just make sure you plan your movie time well to your food.

Best vegetarian and vegan Satvik food restaurant on n entire Sydney. On top of it great ambience. Must visit once in a week or two.

What a pleasant surprise this was! Buffets are few and far between these days, but Govindas still survives. Although they didn’t have a million options, they options they did have were great. Never did I think I’d find myself eating vegetarian, but this was a knock out. The atmosphere is super casual and the team here was super friendly.
