Castles Landing is a brilliant camping spot. Relatively short drive (1.5 hrs). Plenty of shade. Plenty of beach areas to enter the water. Serenity here. The water depth is shallow out to half across the river (on the sandbars at least) until they drop off. Do not dive in to river... plenty of logs and snags if you are not careful as well as many nice clear areas. You will need to bring camp toilet. Not many mozzies noticed during most visits. The property owner, John Castle, is a legend. Hilariously funny bloke. Enjoy.

Lovely place with multitudes of different campsites, easy access to water, and lovely scenery.

The owner is a good bloke, make sure to give the cats on his property a kissy ❤❤

4wd only access, mate did it in a forester and that's probably pushing it, there is other access but unsure of the grading.

Perfect place for bush camping. Heaps of shady trees & open spaces by the river. Disappointing to see the rubbish people leave behind on John's property. Please have respect for John & nature by taking your rubbish with you.

Awesome private relaxing camp ground for family and friends and so cheap! Closest to petrol station with yummy fish n chips and icecream. Highly Recommended!

I went camping here with some mates and it was amazing! Lots of nice spots to choose from either along the river or back along the cliff face. There are some spots with campfire spots and some without, depending on your needs. There are no toilets or showers so bring portable ones. We personally didn't bother with the shower side of things but def took a portaloo 😂 the view is amazing and the camp spaces are far enough apart that you feel secluded and private yet also not enough so that you're never far from a friendly hello :) I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back :)

I have been coming here for 31 years. The beauty of this place is it's still relatively unknown which creates a dilema. The more I praise the place the more will want to come which will spoil the place 😁 If you like roughing it, this is the place. No facilities but Blanchetown only 9km away if.you've forgotten something. Most disappointing thing is the rubbish people leave behind. It's not hard people, take it with you or the owner will close the place and we'll all lose.

Beautiful campsite by the river and nicely priced too. However the road down to the campsite is pretty steep so you’ll probably need a 4WD to get down and back up again!

Basic back to hardcore camping. No rubbish bin or water or dump point. Nice views of the Murray river. Big red gums lots shade. Large area good for dogs, prices were 10 bucks per night, now 15 dollars not sure on price rise as nothing has changed. Overall good back to basics camping area. Lots of wildlife. Plenty bottle tops bits of plastic and broken glass bottles left by others, reception is vague more interested in telling you about family history all good but don't say anything about where to camp or how big the area is, it would help a lot to get some information. Steep hill, I have off rd 22 ft jayco I recommend use 4 wheel drive in and out. I select low range.

Very odd owner. Signs galore that look very hostile. Good luck trying to get any car down other than a 4 x 4 wd.
It is a beautiful spot though. We wouldve stayed longer if our caravan was connected to power and werent worried about rains trapping us down the bottom.
