The Nelson Way Café, Restaurant & Bar

We ordered the tandoori chicken pizza and lamb chop, both were very well made. The pizza was crusty and the toppings were well flavoured. The lamb chop also had a very addictive sauce, the meat was pretty tender but lacked a bit of juice. Overall it was a very decent meal, would recommend if you’re heading near the area.

Amazing food and service, we had the grilled barramundi and coconut prawn curry and our daughter had the pasta bolognese. The flavor and portion size is great and we will definitely be going back tonight to try more from the menu.

Back for another meal and again they didn't disappoint. Beautiful meals in a lovely atmosphere. Great for anyone wanting a quieter atmosphere away from the clubs and crowded restaurants. Love the space and feel of the environment and great service. The final judge is the empty plates!

I do recommend this restaurant. We had dinner and breakfast and the food is excellent both times. We were staying at a different place but booked our dinner and breakfast here. The staff is lovely and attentive. Food is fresh and well cooked and beautifully presented. We’ll definitely go back.

I went with my family to The Nelson Way for an early dinner and enjoyed a wonderful evening. The service and atmosphere were excellent and the food was amazing. We loved the tandoori chicken pizza, chicken parmigiana, lamb cutlets & scotch fillet, as well as the kids fish & chips. We will absolutely be going back to this restaurant.

I’m so glad we found this restaurant. It is such a nice place to sit down and enjoy a good meal while taking in the view over the bay.

The restaurant is spacious and has a lovely vibe. Soft music in the background and friendly attentive staff. The views from the restaurant, and in particular the garden, are so good.

Butter chicken Curry - 4/5
Great presentation, lovely sauce with really good flavour but no heat at all, even after explicitly requesting extra spice. Highly recommend having a spicier option.

Chicken Parmy Southwest - 4/5

Great find. Every dish we had was tasty and fresh. The chilli meatballs and tandoori salad were fantastic. We dined with our 3 children aged 5 to 9 and they were well fed too. We finished with the sticky date which was sensational. We'll be back.

This restaurant is an underrated gem in Nelson Bay. We stay regularly at the Landmark (where it is based) and end up dining here most nights as the service is amazing, the outside dining is very enjoyable in the summer weather and the food is fantastic. We started with the garlic bread, and have chosen meals such as the lamb cutlets, pasta marinara and scotch fillet. Finished off with a yummy affogato!!! Congratulations to the owners and staff on this fantastic eatery.

Currently almost a secret cafe/restaurant away from the crowds but definitely worth the visit. Beautiful food, decor and location with a view to the bay. Easy to drive and park or walk up away from the super busy cafes down at the water. Food was great too!

Had an amazing dinner - excellent food and drinks and the service was great! The pasta dishes were DELISH as were the meatballs. Choc pudding - to die for! Yum yum yum! Wish we had booked sooner during our holiday - the best dinner of our stay at Nelson Bay!

Rinab was a great waiter, and made me a fantastic coffee as well. As a fussy coffee drinker, I didn’t know what to expect but it was seriously the best coffee I have had in Nelson Bay. Lunch was also really good. The homemade Nepalese dumplings was nice especially the sauce which was a winner.
Part 2- we came back for dinner, had lamb cutlets, which was cooked very well, chicken schnitzel and a margarita pizza. All the food was not over salted which was nice and left us satisfied.

We had dinner at the Cafe yesterday two adults and three kids. The food was generous and delicious. The cocktail was very nice and staff was super friendly and nice. Prices are very reasonable and overall we had a great time :) we set at the balcony and we really liked it! Thank you :)

Scrumptious food, great tasting cocktails, friendly staff and when you get a beautiful day - sit out side and it just makes an even better experience. We went with a large group and ordered the entire menu :D General consensus on our table was that the food is tasty with generous portions and the price reasonable for the location.
Oysters were fresh (sourced locally). Lamb cutlets and Sirloin steak were cooked perfectly. I would definitely visit again if in the area.

With no exaggeration my husband & I loved the food here. Everything was cooked perfectly especially the pasta 😍
The restaurant itself was impeccably clean & the staff were very cordial, professional & friendly. The meats are also Halal & cooked separately which was a nice find in the Nelson bay area.

Before we headed home, we were trying to find a place to have breakfast, we glad we chose to go here! We were surprise that the pancakes was massive, and so does the eggs on toast!

Hosted my engagement party here and had the best experience! Swati and the team made the process so smooth and ultimately less stressful. The venue and food were absolutely amazing. The guests mingling on the lawn were treated to beautiful water views. Catering/hire costs were very reasonable, particularly in comparison to other venues in Nelson Bay. Would highly recommend for your next event. Thank you again for a fantastic night!

Had a couple of breakfasts and dinner there. The food was great, not only tasty but also generous serves. The staff were polite and friendly and very attentive. They make a great coffee also. Will definitely visit there again when I'm back in the area.

Amazing food with a view from the patio. Likely one of the best kept secrets. Great coffee and eggs Benedict with lovely staff. We liked it so much we want to stay at the resort ⛵☺.
