I went to the restaurant on 3 occasions for lunch and dinner. Food was great, I had enjoyed the pork chops and Brussels sprouts so much that I ordered the same dishes in 2 occasions. The restaurant can get a little too lively when it's full house, definitely not a place for quiet dinner.

I enjoyed the ambience of the place and the view during day when I was seated near the window on one of the visits.

A good venue to chill out after a visit to the gallery and have a good meal.

We love this place. My partner and I couldn't wait for it to reopen after the State lockdowns due to Covid. Well it was worth the wait as we had another great leisurely afternoon lunch with great views from the spacious and light filled restaurant. The staff as always super friendly and helpful with the menu and wine choices. A really good place to order their vegetarian options as full of flavour and combination originality. We had the Crudo Fish, The Asparagus and Burrata, their delicious take on Steak Tartare as shared plate sizes and then the lovely pumpkin and yoghurt salad with a sneaky bowl of chips that comes with yummy ranch dressing. Their concept is "Planted to Plate" and it is so true. All up another really enjoyable dining experience and one that we are counting down to do again.

Matt Moran’s Woolahra restaurant has a second venture in the Art Gallery of NSW. It is a stunning spot in the top level corner of the gallery with a view of the water. It is light and bright and a casual fine dining spot.

From their garden they use plentiful vegetables, fruits and salads to produce healthy, fresh and vibrant dishes. A range of entrees, small plates and larger sharing plates.

Start with some oysters or bread and a cocktail to get the good vibes happening.

There’s a seasonally changing menu with individual meals including snapper, pork chops, scotch fillet, beer battered fish and chips, and shared dishes of trout or lamb shoulder from the Moran family farm, served with carrot, lentil and mint.

We then ordered a few mains and in particular loved the beautiful Barra-in-a-bag with saffron, fennel, sea vegetable (It is df and gf). They’ve also got a fab beef tartare.

You will need some sides, we opted for the Chiswick Green Salad and Green Beans, but you may prefer toast mushrooms or fries.

Fruit inspired desserts, cheese platters and and array of stunning wines and cocktails, you will find this to be a sophisticated dining venue.

Make a day of it and visit the Gallery and book yourself in for lunch whilst you’re there.

Always great service. Wednesday evening's the restaurant is open until 10pm so a great place to go eat after exploring the beautiful art. The Moran family lamb is cooked to perfection.

What a stunning venue! We recently dined with Chiswick for a ladies lunch, a group of 15 women. From the time of booking right through to the day before the staff were a total pleasure to interact with, nothing was a bother. Kerry looked after us for the lunch service, lovely service, food is incredible and there was plenty of it! Loved the experience so much that we just booked for our anniversary lunch.

Delicious share menu for $75 per head. The desserts, baby octopus, lamb and sweet potato were the most memorable dishes for me.

Best chips! Pork is to die for. Grilled prawns are mouth watering. Panoramic water views. Warm & genuine service. Perfect setting for 2 or group lunch!

Overlooking Sydney Harbour and Woolloomooloo, magnificent views grace a contemporary dining room, casual bar with large communal table and semi-private dining enclave.

Celebrated our engagement lunch here last week and had such a beautiful afternoon. The food was incredible, view and dining room is stunning and the staff were great. Our wine glasses were never empty and all our guests had a fabulous time (and kept commenting on how good the food was). Only downside is the place closes on the dot at 5pm when the gallery closes down -- understandable but a bit restricting!

We dined here for a special occasion on lunch today.
Food portions were bigger than expected and it was very delicious.
Brussel sprouts
Steak
Fish all very nice.
Very crowded on the weekend but still a nice ambience.

Small note that additional salt on the butter and on chips were not necessary.

My three friends and I thoroughly enjoyed out dining experience at Chiswick at the Gallery. The creative and beautifully presented dishes were perfection on the making. Everything had WOW factor in every way. The view and ambience made for a lovely setting for us to catch up and the service was fabulous. Thanks for a lovely afternoon all around. Can't wait to go back. Di

I am not a fan of the celebrity chef culture as it often leads to disappointment and I recently had a very average meal on a long haul Qantas Business flight that was under the banner of Matt Moran so I wasn't expecting too much from Chiswick when I turned up for my birthday lunch. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised. What a beautiful meal! I will be back for the Barra in a Bag. They were so great about accommodating my food restrictions and the staff were lovely. I'm looking forward to my next meal there. Delicious!

Delicious meal. We landed at this place through coincidence and were pleasantly surprised. Ordered and shared the lamb between three with a few vegetable sides. Meal to share was sufficient and the food was delicious.

Recommend booking as the restaurant was full and we ended up getting the last table.

The lunch & Archibald exhibition was a most enjoyable pairing.
The lunch menu was good, the staff were pleasant & efficient, & our lunch was delicious. I would definitely recommend this as a 'must' for people who appreciate dining in such a lovely setting, with excellent service & followed by an amazing gallery experience.

We had a very pleasant lunch at Chiswick at the Gallery yesterday, a Christmas get together. Our table was next to the window so we had a great view, despite the grey weather. The food was delicious. We all enjoyed the Barra-masalata, beautifully presented, full of smoky flavour. I had the 'melt in your mouth' lamb shoulder so good. The staff were all informative and friendly, nothing was a problem for them. It was sad to find out that the restaurant will be closing in January. We can still go to the Woollahra venue though for a further Barra hit. A very nice way to celebrate Christmas despite COVID restrictions.

I come here for lunch every school holidays and this was a particularly lovely experience. As per usual, the establishment was buzzing without being too loud, the service was attentive without being intrusive, the food came out quickly and was delicious - the brussel sprouts as a side with the mains and and passion fruit tart dessert were amazing.

We dined here for lunch on Saturday after seeing the Archibald Prize with our 7yr old daughter. The food is exquisite and the overall experience is really wonderful. Staff lovely. Such a great vibe. One of our very favourite restaurants.

Great venue with amazing seasonal meals. The lamb shoulder and mint sauce was a highlight. Went out of their way to manage a food allergy a member in the party has. Given the location prices were also very reasonable.
