Platypi Chocolate

I love this place. The coffee was good, the chocolate delicious, the quick lunch we had while there was also simple but lovely. It's quite a large place with fairly high ceilings and an outdoor verandah area (highly recommended if the weather is good - great view) at the back. The service was lovely too.

The hot chocolate is fantastic, and the meals were delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, and took covid precautions seriously. Lots of seating options both indoors and outdoors with good views.

Can purchase chocolate to take home here as well.
There is bike parking out front.

What an experience! There’s nothing synthetic or artificial in the taste of what you’ll enjoy. I had a diverse selection of chocolates and each one was incredible. We got the hot chocolate one mint, the other hazelnut. It was clear that the mint was fresh from the garden and the hazelnut was deliciously nutty. I wish I didn’t live on the other side of the planet. Indoor seating with beautiful art, outdoor with such a view. Spectacular! Thank you for the memorable experience’

Was lucky enough to discover this little gem, on my way home from Apollo Bay, found it by accident and was blown away with the beautiful outdoor setting with the perfect view of the forest almost close enough to touch, would be an awesome place to relax and enjoy some lunch whilst listening to the birds and rustling of the leaves. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the egg and bacon roll were just what the doctor ordered. It is a little bit (less than 1km) out of the town, but well worth it.

Awesome chocolate-everything! Tried the drinks and chocolates, prices were reasonable for the quality! Nice little place after a 30min drive from Lorne, peaceful and serene, for a peaceful Tue morning :)

A great chocolatier/cafe that is well worth a visit. Great coffee, hot chocolate, nice view, welcoming and relaxing environment. A chocolate for every taste.

Beautiful outdoor deck area amongst the trees. A hot chocolate is a must but I found it a bit gimmicky and took a long time to stir in the chocolate ball. Just a tip - the mint ball tasted better after sitting to melt for 5 minutes i the milk before getting a vigorous stir. Enjoy!

Amazing staff (especially the girl with the green hair!) who let us buy takeaway only minutes before closing. Had a great balcony area with forest views to relax and enjoy their exquisite chocolates! The limoncello and coconut was amazing!! A very modern and comfortable cafe in a small town that was otherwise anything but.

EDIT: in response to the owner, timboon distillery did a spirit tasting paired with platypi chocolates which I jumped at when I visited only the next day. Incredible there too but not as fresh!

Lovely location. Amazing hot chocolate experience! Yummy food too. We sat outside overlooking the forest all cozy with blankets on. The guy who served us was very informative and clearly loves what he does. Who wouldn't. A beautiful part of Victoria.

What an exceptional lunch! I asked and was kindly given some free pumpkin seeds to feed the king parrots with on the balcony. Just splendid!

What an amazing place! Great food and coffee, Awesome chocolate products, and fantastic service. We drove 1.5 hours from Ballarat to visit Platypi and we were not disappointed! We will definitely be back!

Lovely service and a beautiful quiet spot for a hot drink. We had mint deconstructed hot chocolates and they were to die for!

We stopped in here on the way back from Apollo Bay after reading so many great reviews and so glad we did, the mint hot chocolate was amazing and the breakfast bacon and eggs so fresh and delicious. We absolutely love their handmade chocolates I can tell you delicious. I love a place that sells their own products just makes the visit there more memorable not to mention priced to suit everyone’s budget . We highly recommend enjoying your meal in their outdoor seated area just magical in the morning. I will definitely revisit next time we’re in the area.

Friendly and prompt service (keep in mind this is a rural location) Everything was delicious, we had the toastie, panini, coffee and the orange hot chocolate!

Great hot chocolate! Is a good lunch spot with paninis toasties sausage rolls etc.

Ah the serenity! Sitting high amongst the trees and being treated to great service and Excellent Mocha! It's even better when you add almond pistachio croissant.

What a great place to stop after our walk at lake elizabeth. Their homemade sausage roll was scrumptious and I had the most delicious hot chocolate ever! We bought some great chocolate treats for souvenirs too.

A lovely cafe with the most delicious chocolate. We stopped for a late breakfast and we’re very impressed with the food and the chocolate. My 2 year old accidentally tipped over her hot chocolate and the staff were so kind and replaced it. Also regretting not buying more chocolate now cause they were so yummy.

The owners were so kind to us, allowing us to come in when they were already closed and heating up food so that we didn't have to drive home with a couple of very hungry kids. Beautiful food and exquisite chocolates. Also there is a balcony with gorgeous views of the forest. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy the cafe cafe when we are able.
