St Joseph's Cathedral

Excellent free light show incorporating the Christmas story as well as some others. Well worth a watch. There are a few seats in front for those who need to sit otherwise plenty of standing room. Toilets are located around side of the cathedral.

Christmas display was absolutely stunning.

Historic Catholic Church in rocky, Mass times on Sunday is 6:30 am, 9:30 am and 6:00 pm, Parking is very accessible , Close to all Restaurants if your having a sunday lunch or dinner after church.

It’s a pity I didn’t get to spend more time in Rockhampton as I would have loved to have captured photos of this magnificent church in all its glory in golden hour lighting. But having said that, the church is incredibly grand. It’s one of the largest churches that I have seen with some incredibly tall steeples. It really does make for a fantastic photographic opportunity. I was able to capture an image at night with a wonderful reflection from a pool of water, and the clouds were moody looking from the full moon. So even at night you can capture some amazing images of the church.

The church and its congregation are very generous with their time and cathedral use. Our Christmas performance of the Rockhampton Musical Union Choir sounded fantastic inside the church. Thank you so much. The lighting up of the Cathedral is a wonderful experience.

Very beautiful, maybe more by day than night

What a beautiful place. I used to go to TCC and we would frequently visit the Cathedral for various occasions and the exterior and the interior are just stunning. For a place like Rockhampton it just stands above al the rest, and with a great history too. Would recommend visiting if in the area

An amazing Cathedral in regional Queensland. Some of the best stained glass in Australia. The glass has actually been fairly recently sent back to France to be restored. The wooden stations of the Cross are also quite amazing, detailed and moving. Original pews and marble floors too. Must see.

It is beautiful! Attended a solemn mass last Easter Sunday 2022!

Apart from the great homily from the priests, I was moved by the sound of the choir(May27 6PM). It was energetic, angelic and powerful. I had goosebumps throughout the mass. The architecture of the church was well preserved. Can’t wait to visit Rockhampton again.

The serenity, beauty, grace, and enormity of this stunning cathedral draws you in in amazement.

Took a friend to the 9.30 am mass on Sunday. Beautiful service, friendly people, excellent message. Pleasure to have been there.
