Okay I acknowledge a high volume of negative reviews and I would like to chuck in my 2c worth to hopefully provide a more honest perspective of things.

I very rarely visit this shop, but I have been buying some of my seafood here for many, many years. Including just this Thursday. As with the freshness, I can't comment on the dead fish (do people not know how to choose fish? Look inside the gills!!) as I only come to this shop to buy live fish and seafood. So that's obviously fresh every time. The prices are very reasonable for live fish too.

So no, I have no issues with the shop and the people working there. It's a very busy shop, and yes, the staff are curt, and loud. They want quick effective communication for efficiency reasons and they mean business, so don't expect them to pour you a cup of tea or treat you like royalty. They have enough business to not need yours, so I suggest you go there and be decisive about what you want. Every second you waste means wasted time for them, and for the horde of people waiting behind you. If you want top notch level service like some sort of car dealership and basically some concierge to show around and match you to the perfect fish to suit your taste, go to a western shop.

What I DO have a problem with are the customers. Especially the certain demographics that you find in this shop. It's crowded, the people are uncivilised, behave in a frenzy like there's a famine going on, try to cut in line with no etiquette or respect for others, nor is there any sense of social order. Everyone acts as though they are of higher priority than everyone else, resulting in total disorder and chaos. In fact, last Thursday, there were a bunch of people screaming at each other in mandarin and a fight was on the verge of breaking out. Very disgraceful.

So no, I do not recommend this shop, hence why I noted up front that I "very rarely visit this shop", but that is not on account of the shop itself or the people who operate this business. In fact, I hate going to Eastwood in general, and this shop is one of the only limited reasons for me to do so, begrudgingly. And that's because there are no other shops reasonably close by that sell live fish. At one stage, there was one in Top Ryde but that sadly closed down due to lack of appreciation by shoppers.

Seems to be "the" fish shop in Eastwood now. Fresh and not too expensive in a convenient location.

There is a strong seafood smell outside the entry door. Not a good sign of hygiene being good inside the shop. Floors, walls, cleaning area, and display counters all need thorough cleaning. To keep down the smell. Customer service needs to be greatly improved. Consider all the different nationalities of people with customer service. Greet customers ask them what they would like or interested in.

Varieties of fish with reasonable price. Parking can be a problem, especially during weekends.

Purchased $58 dollars of seafood and was charged $580 at Christmas time. Went back the next day and took a long time for the shop owner to process the refund. If you visit this shop, ask for receipt from the credit card machine as they would almost never show you the screen for tap and pay. I was very lucky to have kept the docket.

The store staff cut one crab claw from each crab when selling them, apparently they kept the crab claw and only give the remaining part to customer. This is so ridiculous!!

Bought a live crab from this shop. It is live, however, nearly dead crab, a water crab(inside the body, half water), taste wired. My wife just have one bite and ask me to put it to the bin.. Will never back to this shop.

The fish sold here is often not fresh at all and of poor quality.
The staff are also very rude and uncivilised.
I advise you choose the 2 other nearby fish shops instead.

Fishes are so costly or double when compared to Flemington market, I went on Sunday morning Most of the shop sell old stock, we have to be careful to select fresh fish.

Avoid at all cost. This is a dishonest seafood operator in terms of freshness & quality of their seafoods.

买了一公斤多虾,店家再三保证很新鲜,出于信任,当时就没检查。半小时后到家,发现一大半都已经臭了。这么做生意,只能祝老板”财源滚滚”了!
