Not sure why Gannon House doesn't get more reviews as it's a hidden gem in Sydney. It's located in the Rocks area and has a great selection. I visited in May/June 2023 and initially found a carved lobster that I thought about buying and later did purchase. Went back twice and ended up meeting bother the owners and they were very helpful and knowledgeable and very kind. Not only a great selection of indigenous art but many other works. I bought 2 paintings, the lobster, a pair of brass penguins and a wooden spear head. Prices were comparable to other high end galleries, ranging from $100 USD up to $20,000USD. Do yourself a favor and stop in, even if just to window shop.

Also was the only gallery of the 5 I used that actually sends their paintings already stretched and WELL protected. DHL crushed the side of the shipping container yet the paintings were still in perfect condition.

Gannon House is the finest art gallery in Sydney! It is a joy and an education to shop there. The superb indigenous art is authentic, obtained in the context of respect, admiration and ethical business relationships with the artists. The contemporary Australian art is gorgeous, eclectic and exciting; all selected with astute judgement by the caring, friendly and experienced owners and staff. We have been fortunate to enjoy visits to this gallery many times over the past 15 years and cannot recommend highly enough.

Has a lovely historical feel, filled with Aboriginal and contemporary style art. Purchased some inspirational art work including a beautiful hand crafted cedar bowl by artist Simon Begg resembling the look of cracked clay or dried mud on a river bed.

I live in Sydney and I have bought several art pieces, over the years, from this gallery.
The owner is genuinely friendly, knowledgable and above all honest.
I will continue to frequent this place as they sell very beautiful items.

I visited several times during my week long stay in Sydney. The gallery owner is very knowledgeable and spent loads of time explaining the different artists and their backgrounds to me. Lots to pick from at this gallery.
