A hidden gem of a restaurant nestled in Nurses Walk in amongst the Laneways of The Rocks in Sydney . Highly recommend to anyone visiting. Fabulous and attentive staff, fantastic food and a great ambient atmosphere make for a Gastronomic sensation. The Chefs Banquet is the perfect showcase for the food that is served up here and is authentic and tasty, believe me, I’ve travelled in the Middle East and chef here has it spot on. We turned up ‘on spec’ and luckily there was a table for two available and we were looked after by the attentive staff form the moment we entered until the time we left. If you still have room left after the Chefs banquets try one of the desserts, we had the pie and WOW ! $89 pp for the banquet plus a couple of drinks each came in at around $280 well worth it. That is all ❤

We stumbled across this restaurant walking through The Rocks and wow, what a find. Excellent in every way - food, service and atmosphere. The food was so tasty. They also have an outdoor bar area which is beautifully decorated. It’s tucked away in an alley, perfect for escaping the @vividsydney crowds. Very decently priced also. 10/10. Will be back for sure.

Scrumptious food, I love the ambience. Amazing staff. There is a guy, Maxi, sings live with guitar, very talented. My friend took me there for my birthday. We had a great night. Will go back for sure, for the beef short ribs, halloumi and cocktail lol.

Gorgeous restaurant nestled into the sandstone of the Rocks area.
STAFF: Very attentive staff who happily take you through their dishes.
FOOD/DRINKS: Good selection of vegetarian, vegan and meat dishes with varied gluten free options available. High quality ingredients served fresh and plated up well. Great (hommus, garlic, tahini, slices Moroccan flavours etc of the North African/Middle East). Our servings were not huge, I'd suggest sharing a number of plates if there are a group of you. They have a great drinks/wine selection too.
AMBIENCE: Gorgeous rustic timber and sandstone building with stunning low lit lightning. Ideal for events or a romantic dinner. Some dining available outside which would allow you to take your dog/s etc. great live music outside on the night we were last here. Some table and chairs are hidden away in little private nooks, so this would even serve well as a client business dinner venue too.
OVERALL: Will definitely be back, loved the warm, homely yet classy vibe. Would definitely recommend and appreciate the high quality use of ingredients.

I've not tried Israeli food before but I'm hooked. We ate here both mornings of our stay at The Harbor Rocks Hotel. I had the Israeli Shakshuka on day one, which was amazing. The second day, although I really wanted the Shakshuka again, I tried their other signature dish, the Jerusalem Bagel. Once again, it was fantastic. Don't skip this gem of a restaurant on your visit to Sydney.

Food at Tayim was great! Roasted cauliflower and halloumi were delicious, nice spicy margarita, the restaurant itself is very pretty. The food comes out very quickly - which is good, but maybe a tad too quick. Booked for 8pm and was out by 9pm, we had three small plates to share, then a main and a side, a couple of drinks and we were out within one hour. The bill was brought as soon as we said we didn’t want dessert, could’ve fancied another drink to finish up but didn’t have the chance to order one. Overall it was really yumm, just felt a bit like we were pushed to leave quick, at 9pm.

Highly recommend. Service was impeccable, just the perfect amount of attentiveness and friendliness. Lovely ambience and food was delicious. Standouts were the kingfish, haloumi but also enjoyed the knafeh and the lamb kofka. Yum!

My husband and I dined at Tayim on the weekend.

Food:

For entrees we chose the hummus, babaganoush, and kingfish carpaccio. The hummus with msabbaha and zhoug was the perfect balance of flavours and textures - creamy hummus, soft chickpeas, and with a kick of spice from the zhoug. My husband appreciated the creative twist on the hummus! The babaganoush with tatbila was a creamy and smoky delight. The kingfish carpaccio was the highlight of the entrees. The fish was delicate, and the labneh, pistachio, and ginger complemented it brilliantly.

They served warm pita bread for my husband, but they also had gluten-free bread available for me which was much appreciated.

For mains we shared the chicken shawarma and lamb kofta. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the tatbila sauce was delightfully tangy and slightly spicy. The lamb kofta was equally delicious, with the smoky flavour of the mashwia, the creaminess of the tahini, and the crunchy shifka.

For dessert we both ordered the rosewater malabi with coconut, almonds, and raspberry syrup. The creamy texture of the rosewater infused malabi, combined with the coconut, almonds, and raspberry syrup, was just divine. This was served in a martini glass, and we were both left craving more!

Drinks:
I could not resist trying the Tayim Signature Cocktails. The Beirut Summer was a delightful mix of flavours, with the Chambord and mint perfectly complementing the aniseed notes. The Desert Oasis provided a tropical escape with pineapple rum and rosemary, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and herbal freshness.

Service:
Our server Lizel was friendly, displayed genuine warmth, and was attentive throughout our dining experience.

Atmosphere:
This hidden gem restaurant is in a historic sandstone cavern. The plush cushions, Turkish mosaic candle holders, the Arabic wall tapestries, soft Arabic music, and warm lighting created an inviting and romantic ambiance. We loved the charming setting of the restaurant which was tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Argyle St.

Overall, Tayim at Harbour Rocks Hotel was a truly exceptional experience. We dined with the Accor Plus benefit. The restaurant's focus on authentic flavours, along with twists on traditional dishes, made for a memorable culinary adventure in The Rocks.

Amazing restaurant discovered during a walk in The Rocks. The atmosphere is fantastic, perfect for a romantic dinner, and the food is just wow, interesting flavours combined in great balance between tradition and innovation. We love middle-eastern cuisine and this place was surprising, moreover they have a lot of vegetarian options.
Also the price is appropriate, we spent 60$ for hummus with pita bread, grilled halloumi with apricot sauce and roasted pumpkin.
We particularly appreciated that Chef Leron took time to come to our table to greet us and we are thankful for the warm service of the staff, they also offered us a shot of limoncello with anis, delicious.
We strongly recommend Tayim, you won't regret :)

I had such a wonderful birthday celebration at Tayim! I cannot more highly recommend.
Slightly tucked away off the Suez Canal in The Rocks, the stroll up the cobblestones and onto Tayims warm and inviting terrace amped up the charm before we even entered.
I had made the booking for a mid sized group extremely last minute AND I had to increase numbers first the morning of and then again upon arrival - this was accommodated by the staff without hiccup and we were even put up in the private dining - much to our joy. From there it was a night of surprise and delight - unique attention to detail and a focus on customer service that is very rare to find in a Sydney restaurant

The little touches and attentiveness from the staff (especially Jordy) combined with the delicious food, wine and cocktails to make this birthday at Tayim very special. I highly recommend Tayim for your next outing.

Found my new favorite spot! This Middle Eastern gem is a vibe – not just a restaurant, it's an experience. When you walk in you feel like you’ve been transported to Jaffa with gorgeous sandstone walls decorated with vintage Moroccan rugs and romantic lighting. The dishes are authentic and delicious, we asked to meet the chef as we were so impressed and he came around to have a chat, so down to earth! Friendly staff, amazing cocktails, it's the whole package.

Really enjoyed or time here. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere inside the heritage building that is now the Rocks Hotel. Food was excellent with a variety that I haven't tasted before, as part of the promotion for the Whiskey festival a set menu was supplied and enjoyed by all guests of the restaurant at full capacity. I highly recommend this establishment and will definately be dining there again.

While visiting Sydney, we discovered this hidden gem. The food was so delicious that we wanted to come back again for dinner the next night but unfortunately it was a Sunday and it was closed. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Sydney, highly recommend!
