Great really helpful and enthusiastic ladies greeted us and then took us to the age appropriate area we were after .We were then told how they categorized the different types of genres with small stickers which saves so much time and leads you directly to the topic of your interest a very good system indeed. The library it's self was very neat clean and tidy. The library and the group of people who run it are a real asset to our local community we'll done and much appreciated thank you 🙂

Mostly have a good experience but today wasn’t great. Needs an update to service the community properly. Has a kids section but librarian was a bit curt to my children. Maybe a nicer approach with the children would be appreciated.

Librarian lady (long haired) was kind of a b*tch. She appeared to be soft spoken, calm but impatient and mean at times. One of the regulars, a Japanese backpacker who works at Costa Berries heard the lady gossiping with a co-librarian complaining about foreign youngsters at the library enjoying the nice sofa, free wifi while they're just there to kill time after farmwork. I don't understand people who choose to work in public services but hates serving people. Since it is a public / civic space, you'd be expecting all kinds of people wouldn't you? To those French youth making loud noises, parked after hours for wifi outside the library, though inappropriate, they should still be allowed to use the space. Minor offences don't count as life threatening situation. Another backpacker saw me unhappy outside getting my dog leashed, said her friend had the same unpleasant experience when she was told not to sit comfortably on the "newly bought" sofa which the lady claimed would get dirty or dusty by filthy feets touching it, that's discrimination. Her rules are ridiculous! I'm Sydney born, been here few times to visit my grandmother, as far as I know, no one has ever caused any problems, yet her weird unwelcoming behavior visitors being treated badly (mainly backpackers) continued. She imposed her own unreasonable strict rules at the library that offended visitors (basically if she finds you behaving against her standards, she would harrass you!). Earlier, she ordered me to move my dog from the pole just outside the entrance, whilst it was sitting there quietly didn't make a sound! Since she made a big deal out of it, I left earlier than planned. This has never happened in big cities where bossy people are expected to be rude, but never, instead, I was harrassed by a sociopath librarian in a small town library with less than 20 visitors a day. The other Librarian lady with short dark hair on a different shift was a lot nicer & polite. Would not recommend this library to backpackers, if you do visit here often, expect to be treated or emotionally abused on that one unlucky day. The Coffs Harbour library is only 25kms away, has heaps of space to chill & closes at 6pm!

Woolgoolga Council Members, take note of this negative feedback!
Thank you.

Cheers
Vincent
