Basil's Gourmet Seafood Hunters Hill

We had the grilled fish of the day and Joey's special plus tomato sauce and tartare sauce. The grilled fish was cooked perfectly. So were the prawn cocktails and calamari. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and enjoyed our meal. Internal seating wasn't restaurant quality but sufficient for a typical fish and chips shop, which is more about the food than the ambiance.

Ordered the grilled calamari here. Cooked perfectly! Chips were fresh and crunchy. Price was affordable. Would definitely visit again!

Fresh, hot and high quality fish and chips. Huge portion sizes. 6 fish cocktails and chips for $11.50 was excellent value. Tartare sauce ($1.50) also very nice. Worth the drive.

My favourite local fish and chip shop, can't imagine Hunters Hill without Basils, owners are awesome and food is delicious, prices are also affordable for the awesome quality of fish and seafood, always thank God that Basils is around.

I had dinner on the weekend with my sons and it was my first time to Basil's. The grilled snapper, john dory and battered flathead were super fresh and cooked beautifully. The batter was just right and the accompanying salad crispy fresh and delicious. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the premises lovely and clean. The prices were reasonable too. I would highly recommend Basil's and will definitely be back.

What is Gourmet here is the Seafood from Sydney Rock Oysters to classic Fish and Chips with great Prawns and Lobster in between.....the dining and table set up is do it yourself with a few available chairs and tables, We think most buy take away as the focus here is the food not being any kind of restaurant.

Fresh Fresh Fresh!! This Fish Cafe is being brilliantly run by its husband and wife team. Seating is Cafe style but food is top restaurant quality at minimal price. Excellent variety of fresh oysters, bugs, prawns, octopus, calamari and fish. Its like a mini fish market where you can eat in or takeaway with top service and delicious freshly grilled or fried seafood. Best little seafood secret in Hunters Hill area

Trout and Salmon steaks always grilled perfectly. Potato scallops are old school style with real potatoes cut. Hot chips are out of this world - crunchy outsides, soft but not mushy inside. Seafood super fresh, great variety!

We have been visiting Basil's on & off for the past ten years, great little fish & chip shop, prepared quickly, tasty and good value. The owners are always behind the counter, happy to serve with a smile.
