Absolutely lives up to the claim of "Best fish and chips in the universe"! We've been loyal patrons of Oceanfoods for over a decade, and the quality has consistently been top-notch. George and his team set a high standard, focusing on quality ingredients without cutting corners.

It's refreshing to see a fish and chip shop that uses high-quality ocean perch instead of the cheaper alternatives. The chips are always crispy, perfectly cooked, and remarkably free from excess oil—probably because they change the oil daily.

Our family has diverse tastes, and Oceanfoods caters to us all. I switch it up depending on my mood, while my daughters go for the crab claws, fish cocktails, prawn cutlets, potato scallops, and calamari rings. My wife, not usually one for fried food, loves their grilled options like barramundi, lobster mornay, salmon, fresh oysters, salads, and cooked tiger prawns.

The dining area is just as impressive, whether you choose to sit outdoors, indoors, or upstairs. The atmosphere is matched by the phenomenal staff, always friendly and ready to surprise us with their culinary creations when we're undecided.

My kids have grown so accustomed to the high standards here that dining elsewhere often prompts them to say, "This is not as nice as Oceanfoods”. Kudos to George, Mary, and the entire Oceanfoods team for maintaining such high quality through the years. Well done!

A far out boast that they are the best fish and chips in the universe - and honestly they are one of the better ones. A lot is to do with their choice of good quality fish cooked flakey, light batter that doesn't get too much in the way, and keeping prices reasonable because they get volume of customers. A competitor nearby costs more for cheaper quality fish. Anyway, one the better fish on the menu. Arguably the chips could be a bit crispier, I probably will ask to see if a bit longer in the fryer is an option, it's not bad could be crunchier. I forget why I stopped coming here but the fact they open for dinner and have a dine in area and grilled fish as well, there's plenty of reasons to make this stop.

Love these chips! Perfect serving size for one. Friendly service. Even though it was lunch time and busy the staff were chatty and smiling! Yummy chips and fantastic customer service! Not soggy or drenched in oil! The store was clean, inviting and everything looks fresh!

I'll be honest. When I first saw the tagline, I was skeptical. Could this really be the best Fish and Chips in the Universe?

Well, as a lifelong Fish and Chips afficionado, I reluctantly have to disagree. It is absolutely NOT the best Fish and Chips in the Universe, but it certainly could possibly be the best Fish and Chips in Sydney.

Walk into the shop and you have a wide variety of FRESH seafood to choose from.

We ordered a double platter and a grilled fish burger.

The double platter did not disappoint, but let me tell you this; if you don't get the grilled fish burger when you're here. You're a fool.

That fish was perfectly seared crisp on the outside, yet tender and juicy on the inside. That Turkish bread it was enveloped in, nicely cushioned with lettuce and sauce. Oh it's divine I tell you.

If you're in the area, in Sydney CBD or even the Greater Sydney area(whatever that means), you're going to want to go out of your way to come here. You won't regret it.

Oh, and don't forget the people. The people that run the place, are amongst the friendliest I've met.

Ordered the double seafood platter to share with a mate, very fresh.
Large dining hall with some out door seating, and parking on side streets is very convenient. Came on a Monday lunch, was easy to get a table.

Big range of hot meals, fresh seafood and salads. The batter on the fish is light and crisp, not too thick and does not have the stale oil taste. Seating is comfortable and caters well for families and dog owners with outdoor seating available. Toilet amenities are available and clean. Have come here many times and it always satisfies.

Use to frequent this place often when visiting friends who lived 1 street away. Was good to go back and try again.

The baby grilled octopus also known to my friends as the bacon of the sea has and still always satisfies.

That was actually nice, first time I had lobster, I think it was a good price for the meal with chips and salad.

Had the fish cocktails, calamari and chips, lovely helpful staff. Food was tasty and fresh. Bit more expensive than our usual place, but pretty fab none the less.

Best fish and chips in the universe, so I had to finally try it out. Place is so nice and clean, staff were constantly like beavers wiping up the tables which was great to see. All the food very well presented. If I had to critique anything just the ambient music was a tad loud, maybe I'm just getting old.
I couldn't resist the Kazi Chix Burger when I saw it on the menu. Did not regret it at all, was absolutely delicious, beautiful sauce, nicely cooked. Made a slight mess but well worth it.

I ordered 3 type of fish. Fish and chips, crumbed fish and fish cake.
My favourite was crumbed fish, juicy, full of flavour, fresh.
Good place to have lunch if you are seafood person.
Plenty range of seafood to choose.
Place was nice, super clean and cozy. Nice was nice. Waiting time was quick.
Overall my experience was 5 out of 5.
Definitely coming back next time.

They’re famous for their fish and chips. No argument there - baked whole fish is just a delight. But their new burger menu is a new must try - I have finally found my long lost love of prawn burger - great value as well.

The best seafood shop is Sydney if not Australia. They havent won award after award for nothing. They do a really good job. Service is great and food is even better. They have changed the menu up abit which is nice to see and the added indoor seating area (upstairs open if demand requires) is great as no longer have to wait for a seat to become available. Nice parks on the water behind shop only a short drive away with kids play area so if the weather permits eat at the park the kids will love it.

Well cooked salmon, with herb lemon and butter, and chips. They have a wide selection and you won't be disappointed. Friendly and helpful staff in case you don't know what you want they'll give you for recommendations.

Just love Ocean Foods. My family has been coming here for years and won't go elsewhere for fish and chips or seafood. We're never disappointed. Mary and the staff are always pleasant and the eat in area is fantastic, choose in or outdoors. Finish off your eat in meal with a tea or coffee. Fabulous!!
