This is the warm and comfortable homely family cafe you're looking for on a nice sunny day or the cold rainy days to give yourself a bit of a boost. Serving filling and delicious meals by smiley, friendly waitresses.

My favourite is the eggplant parmigiana and its hard to choose anything else when this is on the table. If you want something more filling and meatier, go for mama's meatballs served with penne (judge the food by the taste, not the presentation!).

If they are busy, the servers are not grumps whatsoever, they are informative and apologetic on the delay. Lovely cafe with the loveliest people.

Great coffee, food & service. Potato Frittata is particularly good too. Fresh, delicious & served piping hot.

Serves Vittoria Coffee, delicious. I ordered the bacon & eggs on toast for $12.50 and the girls shared the adult sized pancakes with maple syrup and ice cream for $10.50. Big servings, excellent value. Panvskes were quite fluffy and thick. Left happy. Definitely planning to come again and make this a regular weekend breakfast spot.

i tried the beef burger today with chips. the food was very nice. the beer peroni was excellent. good service and friendly team. keep up the great work.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Carmels. The food was honest and wholesome. The atmosphere was vibrant and friendly and the prices were very reasonable.

Carmels is run by a great couple, its a very comfortable cafe/restaurant. We went for late breaky and found a very friendly casual atmosphere, the owners know most of the customers and i found myself wanting that, guess ill need to go back a few more times.

I am a local and love going to Carmel, great coffee every time. Fantastic service, always with a big smile, warm and welcoming. I had their full breakfast and left full and 😊

I notice there are a few 1 star review which I find it's so untrue.

Has to be the best Italian restaurant in the Canada Bay area. Located in Wareemba, the food is excellent with very generous servings. The host and hostess are both welcoming and casual with excellent service. Give them a try, you will love it!

I loved my experience. I had coffee with a party of 5 today. The coffee was quite nice and tasted good. The service staff were very friendly. The banana bread was quite delicious also. It tasted less processed as it has banana pieces which made it taste more authentic.

It is one of the very good cafes in the area, and I would come here for lunch or breakfast. Not too busy on weekends which is good as some of the good cafes can make you wait for a table.

Would definitely come again at another time!

Great coffee. The best in Abbotsford. Tried a few times now and it’s been good every time. A lot better than its big competitor Trovatino a few doors down. That cafe looks good and is certainly popular, but in fact it’s coffee is pretty ordinary. Sorry Trovatino but I gave you plenty of chances. Mr Ruggeri has my business now for the next 5 years of taking my son to rowing down the road. My boy loved the spaghetti bol too. Tony’s place may not be as fancy, but we are converts.

Loved the hospitality, and the attention to all customers. My granddaughter with her sparkly red shoes was spoilt for breakfast ,couldn't do enough.Thank you

I have always loved carmels, I come every Saturday at least and always order a pasta. Lovely people and the food comes very quick. The food is such high quality and fresh. I had a function there 5 years ago and everyone enjoyed their food. Thank you carmels!!

What a great welcoming, warm cafe.
The staff are genuinely friendly, funny and warm people.
While waiting in anticipation to pierce my daughters ears (1hour exactly) they just calmed my nerves right down.
It felt like home, amazing the food looked great just somewhere you feel at home.
Being my first time but not my mum’s I can see why she likes this place.
We will be back!

I have nothing but good things to say. I attended a birthday here last Saturday. The hospitality this placed showed was so warming and the food was excellent! We finished the night off with coffee and no complaints:). Everything was wonderful from start to finish. Will definitely be back.

Highly recommended. We had the best lasagna I’ve ever had at this place. Staff and owner/ chef come and talk to you about the food. Coffee is excellent. Prices reasonable.

I have been buying my daily coffee from Carmel's for a while now. It is consistently really good coffee with plenty of froth. The meals are restaurant quality with a home style flair to them. My recommendation is the salt & pepper calamari or the chicken schnitzel. The specials board provides more options if you are wanting to try something new. The staff are super friendly and it's nice to go into the cafe on a first name basis with the staff who work there.

Took a work colleague with me for my first ever visit. Both of us had linguini. Mine was boscaiola and my friend had a prawn and seafood mix (sorry, the name escapes me!).
Probably the best boscaiola I have ever had and my colleague was well impressed by his dish. Both plates were emptied.
Prices on point. Coffee on point. Excellent service.

What a great little place!! Very friendly & helpful staff, delicious food (I had the corn and zucchini fritters with side of salmon - it was very nice). Great coffee!!! Plus they have a baby change table in the bathroom. Will definitely be back.
