Stayed 2 nights in the Vineyard retreat. Very comfortable, neat,clean, everything you needed.Views were great from the large verandah. Close to lots of wineries. Very peaceful. Easy to find. Directions & entry access simple

We had a great time here at the sunset cottage! Great vistas from all angles, both an indoor and outdoor fireplace with plenty of firewood supplied, friendly wildlife, and a great location nestled in the heart of The Hunter Valley. Remote enough to feel secluded and private, but close enough to all the best wineries & restaurants.

Stayed a week at the Sunset Retreat. The service we received from Camilla was outstanding. Took full advantage of the fireplace in the retreat and fire pit outside. Retreat is very peaceful and had a great time observing the local wildlife. Perfect place to relax and de-stress. Did not want to leave. Will definitely be back in the future. Thank you.

We have just returned from a brilliant weekend away after hiring out the whole of Blackwattle with a group of friends. Our accommodation(Sunrise Retreat) was very comfortable, peaceful and beautifully decorated, combined with a beautiful backdrop of the mountain range and stunning sunsets. The well designed fire pit was lovely to sit around on a winters evening and have drinks with the group. We went the extra mile and hired a chef to cook for the adults and set up a large table on the lawn and had a beautiful five course lunch and hired a children’s entertainer for a few hours while we ate. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. Will definitely be back.

We booked the property at the very last minute but Sarah was very friendly and accommodating to take us in.
We stayed here for two nights at the Sunset Retreat cottage and it is spectacular for couples.The colours at the sunset are amazing with a beautiful view of vineyards and kangaroos hopping all around. The property was decorated nicely and had every attention to detail. We felt more refreshed, relaxed and comfortable after our stay.

Our stay at Blackwattle was fantastic. All communication was easy and responses were prompt. The Wattle Spa retreat was just perfect - serene, relaxing and the property was so well equipped with so many thoughtful touches. We loved waking up to the kangaroos and having breakfast on the deck overlooking the peace and serenity was amazing. The spa was fantastic and the fire pit was just beautiful. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing retreat and we will return. We have been to the Hunter Valley many times and this is our favourite place so far!

Thank you so much for your beautiful accommodation. We stayed in the Vineyard Retreat. Everything was so comfortable and the atmosphere of the place so peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the deck looking over the vineyards and watching the kangaroos and reading. The last night put on the most magnificent sunset which was so beautiful. The Easter bunny treat was so delicious and very thoughtful also. Went down very well!

Thank you also for the nice addition of the bottles of lovely wine that we could imbibe and pay for later. A very nice gesture. The cottage is so well stocked with everything you need to prepare food and platters to have with our afternoon drinks. Beds are extremely comfortable, showers excellent and the hand wash and body wash in the bathrooms smelt so divine! This is the perfect place for two couples as you each have an ensuite. We woke up one morning to see a myriad of hot air balloons over the misty valley which was another highlight to our stay. We definitely plan to return again.

These cottages are amazing everything you could need. The views are stunning and the interiors are finished beautifully. Great taste in decor. They are also very near to great wineries. The inclusion of your own fire pit is a great treat. We will definitely return so relaxing

We just returned from a 2 night break at Blackwattle Luxury Retreats, our stay was truly amazing and luxurious in every sense of the word. It seemed like no expense was spared making the contemporary and spacious vineyard accomodation as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The magical sunrises and sunsets were a highlight every day and the tranquil setting made it easy to forget about the hustle and bustle of Sydney. Our daily walks around the vineyard was a great opportunity to meet the friendly local kangaroos.

We are looking forward to returning in the Winter to make full use of the fire pit and to star gaze from the hot tub.

I highly recommend Blackwattle Luxury retreats and can't wait to return again soon.

We stayed for two nights at the 2 bedroom vineyard retreat cottage and it was spectacular! It really is the quintessential Hunter Valley experience staying here. Drinking wine on the porch with a landscape view of the vineyard and kangaroos hopping about was magical. The colours at sunset are amazing and you will definitely leave feeling more refreshed, relaxed  and peaceful. The accommodation is comfortable with a choice of DVDs and board games. There are lots of excellent places nearby to eat and visit such as Exp. Restaurant and Hungerford Hill. I can't wait to visit again to try out the Wattle Spa Retreat cottage at Blackwattle Luxury Retreats. The lure of an outside hot tub in the countryside is too hard to resist! I wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting the Hunter. First class!

I am in two minds about writing this review. It’s a little secret in the Hunter Valley that you don’t want too many people knowing about, but also at the same time, you want everyone to know that this place is beautiful!

We stayed in the Wattle Spa Retreat and absolutely loved it! Situated at the top of the property, which overlooks the whole vineyard and olive groves. The house is lovely, has everything that you need and more. Gorgeous teas, cereals, nuts and a selection of great wines are an added bonus I wasn’t expecting.

There is a fabulous outdoor fire pit, which is sensational! Light the fire and star gaze, or just enjoy that wine you have purchased from your day out wine tasting. Option 2, relax in the spa with a glass of champagne. The hardest choices you will have to make on your stay.

There is the added bonus of kangaroos entertaining you from the minute you wake up til sunset. Talking of sunsets, these are amazing! Sitting back with a drink and watching the sun go down in the afternoon is magical.

From the minute you make contact with the lovely Sarah, who is beyond helpful and very obliging, to the minute you depart Blackwattle Luxury Retreat, you will not regret making this booking. A place to totally chill out and enjoy the tranquil and peaceful surroundings.

There are some great wineries and restaurants very close by, or stay in and make the most of your stay.

What an awesome place to get away with family and friends. Went there with our 2 kids and a couple of friends and stayed in the Sunset and Vineyard retreats. So spacious and the kids absolutely loved the kangaroos roaming freely in the vineyards and lying around outside our accommodation. Very close to some amazing wineries and we also got a round of golf in at Vintage which is only about 10mins drive. This place would also be awesome for a golf trip with the boys or if you want to get away with the family and enjoy the scenery and wildlife right on your doorstep. This will likely be our choice of accommodation whenever we go to the Hunter. Thank you for a great getaway Blackwattle Luxury Retreats, we will be back.

Just returned from a beautiful weekend away at Blackwattle Luxury Retreats. The location was perfect, close to Lovedale and Pokolbin wineries but also secluded enough for total relaxation. We were greeted in the morning by kangaroos hopping through the vines and hot air balloons floating above. The Vineyard Retreat cottage was equipped with everything we needed and the outdoor deck with panaromic views was spectacular. The team were a pleasure to deal with and we felt well looked after. Thoroughly recommended for your next trip to Hunter Valley!

A place that you must experience it once in your life! I booked for 3 nights, 2 bedroom luxury retreat with a beautiful spa. Stunning views while you sit inside or outside! Located at the top of a hill with beautiful landscape. Sitting in the hot spa with this view gives you a pleasant feeling with complete relaxation. Around you are plenty of Kangaroos playing around the house in the mornings, and at night, a cosy fire pit outside or the fireplace inside is perfect right before you head to bed. The rooms inside are super clean and of high quality, same goes for the kitchen and shower. There is everything you need to have a nice sleep and have the most peaceful time. I strongly recommend this place to everyone who wants to have a perfect stay at Hunter Valley.

Had the best time relaxing with my little family at this property. It had everything we could have possibly needed, all the creature comforts of home in the most idyllic setting. Chilling by the fire with our antipasto box and some wine whilst the kids jumped on the trampoline and swung on the tree swing was the absolute best. We can’t wait to come back!!

We hired the vineyard retreat, this place is the best we have been to, in Australia. Better than top hotels. It has stunning views and everything we needed was readily available. It’s spotless clean. Thank you so much Blackwattle luxury retreat. Hope to come back to this place again

Great location and nearly like being in Italy with the views over the rolling hills and vineyard. We stayed in the Vineyard Retreat. New owners have the place well presented, clean, quality linen and a good supply of kitchen/pantry items. Hammocks on the deck were so relaxing. We stayed for 2 nights and it wasn't enough so we have already booked to go back again.

We stayed here in April and had an amazing time. When we arrived, the property was filled with gorgeous kangaroos and the unit itself was wonderfully decorated. Great amenities and condiments were provided for our convenience. Sarah was beyond helpful, providing a great recommendation for wine tours. She also provided firewood as we requested due to cold weather snap. Couldn't recommend them more.

We stayed for 3 nights in the Wattle Spa cottage and from the amazing communication before we arrive to the minute we walked in the door with the soft music and luxe scent we knew we were in for a great stay. So much more beautiful than the photos and the serenity was out of this world. The owners have done an amazing job providing all amenities and super luxe interior design to make you feel like youre staying somewhere very special and not lacking for anything. The area has a fantastic F&B/winery offering and has opened our eyes to a section of the Hunter we'd previously not explored. The spa and fire pit are lovely touches and the dozens of kangaroos and birds coming by to check out what you are doing is beyond lovely. Tucked away from the road and whisper quiet - feels a million miles away from Sydney's rat race and such a great break. It was hard to leave as enjoying some wine and cheese on the huge back deck with views over the vineyards to the mountains was amazing - with the most incredible sunsets! We are already planning a return trip

Great location for exploring the Hunter Valley, overlooking the vines and with entertainment from a mob of kangaroos morning and evening.
This retreat was lovely - clean, modern, very comfortable and with a well equipped kitchen . The Nespresso machine was a nice surprise, as it wasn’t mentioned on the site. Spacious shower rooms with luxurious products, comfy beds, fluffy pillows and total darkness at night resulted in a great night’s sleep every night.
Nice little touches that you’d normally only get at a hotel - including a lovely selection of cereals, nuts, teas, coffee, biscuits and wine from Blackwattle chilling in the fridge on a drink-and-pay basis. Delicious!
Sarah was lovely to deal with and responded quickly to any questions. We’d love to come back here in the wintertime - I’d imagine it would be a very cosy spot 😊
