2024 update: still an amazing experience, everything quoted in 2021 review below is still applicable. Definitely pay this winery a visit.

2021:
Highly recommend you make the effort to visit this boutique winery just off the wine trail at Branxton. The owner, Peter is one of the most passionate wine makers I've met and he spends his time explaining the handcrafted process he has gone through to produce each wine. The traditional French fermentation process used for his sparkling wine is true to the processes used in the Champagne region and are a treat to try. Book ahead and allow an hour or more to meander through a wonderful variety of wines.

If I could give 10 stars - I would. We were recommended this spot by lovely folks at Piggs Peake. Whilst unassuming, Pierre’s Wines must be one of the best sparkling “Champagnasque” producers in Australia. Incredible dedication to the craft, knowledge and passion makes for a great wine. You would easily say this is Champagne in a blind tasting. Oh and by the way, Cabernet Sauvignon was one of the best ones I had in Hunter. Highly recommended, off the beaten track and a hidden gem. Well done Peter!

Absolutely spectacular Wines. Pierre is a wonderful host and we had a wonderful tasting and took home a brilliant array of fantastic wines.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Pierre is so knowledgeable and provides in-depth descriptions and stories about his wines. We even came back later in the day to buy more wine. If you’re going to go to one winery in the Hunter, make sure you head to Pierre’s.

Went to five other wineries and non compare to the experience at Pierre’s! The quality of wine here is well beyond anything you’ll taste elsewhere. It is clear this is Peter’s passion. Peter is a passionate winemaker who readily shares his knowledge on making sparkling wine. His is a family owned business and has roots tracing back to Champagne in France. We came on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowd. His sparkling wines are handmade and are among the best in the Hunter Valley region. Must visit!

My only disappointment is that it took me so long to find and visit Pierre's. Truly remarkable sparkling wines (far better than most that are currently favoured by the Australian wine press). Having visited several days ago, I'm still wondering how Pierre's wines remain so unheralded. For anyone interested in wine, this is a must visit. Peter is a gracious, generous host and an expert winemaker at the top of his game. If you have time for a chat, he is more than willing to share that knowledge with you over a glass or two. A very special cellar door experience.

We did a random stop and had no idea what it would be like and are not huge champagne drinkers. Totally brilliant! Pierre (Peter) was the perfect host with an extensive knowledge he was happy to share. Great size tastes and incredible champagne. Just go and try for yourself..

We visited this beautiful winery in July last year, off the tourist track - which makes it all the more special. Peter was the most informative and fascinating host, as well as a truly genuine bloke. We bought two bottles of champagne among other things.
My partner and I are just sitting down to the second bottle of champagne. It is even better than I remember! So much more enjoyable than any of the French stuff you can buy at the bottle shops - on top of the fact that you are supporting local Aussie business.
Pierre’s is a must visit on your hunter valley list! We will be back!
