Surprised by some of the reviews on here.
I visited with my girlfriend in March 2020, the atmosphere was really relaxed, really friendly and ofcourse the wines were great. We ended up buying 3 bottles to bring back to Europe.

Tasted an incredible Sauvignon Blanc 2015 by Robert Oatley Vineyards today. Have not enjoyed a white wine in a long time, but this hit all the right notes: delicious flavor, juicy finish with no sour notes. Will be buying a case.

Gorgeous grounds and historical buidings with an small interesting winemaking museum. Great staff that where knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. My two personal favorites where the Rummy Port and Black Shiraz. Definitely going back with family, friends and a bbq picnic to enjoy in the grounds.

End of the road winery in Mudgee. Great hospitality and amazing museum. Worth a visit or two

Very historic and well-presented vineyard - I can certainly see how "Day on the Green" is so successful there.

The staff were warm and knowledgeable about the wines, and you can see they really enjoy their jobs!

I've got a Soft spot for mudgee and have just come across this label on the shelves of a supermarket in which I am enjoying up a mountain as we speak in Snowdonia UK. Robert oatley cellar door is welcoming and unpretentious. This chardy is light with a soft fruit driven mid pallet and lightly oaked finish. A solid enough drop for it's low price point.

The wines were actually pretty good. The venue is gorgeous. Unfortunately the staff seemed a bit arrogant and I felt like I wasn’t welcome there. It is one the oldest wineries in the area so maybe they feel like they don’t need to make as much of an effort as others. The vibe might suit someone that’s a little reserved and doesn’t like small talk but I prefer a friendly environment and this place just isn’t it. Shame as it has the potential to be the best.

Very overrated winery, no idea how they get five stars from Halliday. Wines are all average

Unfortunately the worst cellar door of the entire Mudgee region. Every other cellar door that we visited in the region maintained a high standard of service, attentiveness and had genuine care for the consumer experience. (We visited more than 10 cellar doors). Richard Oatley was the only place where the service was rude, rushed, and unprofessional. The worst part being that they weren’t even busy. The people who are in the service role are either your greatest asset or greatest detriment in the hospitality industry. Objectively speaking, the wines were nothing special. Save your money, and spend it elsewhere in the region.

Poor granny has been waiting since 8th December for the arrival of our Christmas winds. She ordered a case, a bottle for each of us. Had to get some wine from Aldi last minute. Will never again be ordering from this group. Woeful service, lousy follow up. Still waiting for wind which is now stuck at tnt Bega!!!

Disappointed. Cellar door was nice but not exciting. And if Robert Oatley want's to sell quality wines then they need to have someone who understands wines and the history behind the cellar bar!

Didn't even get past the front door. I don't think the doorkeeper wanted us there
