Some tasty Thai food and a nice balcony with views down the main street of Kiama.
I have a very tasty Tom Kha Gai coconut soup which had lovely fresh flavours.
Also had the Thai Beef Salad which had a real spicy kick to it. Very nice

I've walked past this place for the past 2 years thinking surely it can't be 2.3 stars given that it hasn't closed down etc.. So we decided to give it a try!
It was relatively busy for what it usually looks like. We were greeted with smiles upon entry, food came out super fast, cheaper than other Thai places around and decent portion size so that one doesn't waddle and expand in waist circumference on the way out. In terms of taste, it's the usual Thai flavour and i did not cop a peanut allergic reaction in which I was half expecting.
Worth going back for the cheap Thai & people watching.

Quite authentic Thai food in Australia. I usually find some Thai place too sweet maybe they were adapted to Aussie taste but this one is actually really good and spicy 🔥
It's a bit pricey but the food comes very fast and has a nice balcony with a good view. The owner filled our bottle of water when they noticed it's empty.

This place has a good food.
Yeah they do have outdated interiors but that does make more of you feel like you are in Thailand.
Don't worry about the past reviews. They have a good sky view with Very authentic style of Thai food.

This place is a hidden gem. Dining on the balcony gives you an amazing Birdseye view of vibrant Terralong street. Plenty of indoor dining, too. The food was great, flavoursome and generous portions. Good for family gatherings, parties or just a quiet bite to eat. They do lunch specials and are fully licensed but allow bottled wine BYO. Such lovely owners - please give them a try if you haven’t been - you won’t be disappointed. #supportlocal

Wow this place is so tasty. Such authentic Thai food. Flavours were on point and well balanced.

Highlights were the prawn Tom yum, beef massaman and the Pad Thai. All these dishes hit the mark for us.

Service was quick and easy. No way does this place deserve such a low rating. You are missing out!

We tried this place, and food quality is very good. It has a nice well-spaced table arrangements. We ordered Hor Mok Pla, Chicken Larb, Grilled Chicken and Classic Red Duck Curry. Definitely would return again.

I know good place has some bad reviews, but I seriously wonder if they are from the other Thai restaurants in town, trying to get people to avoid this restaurant. I think the food here is great. I have never had a bad meal. Sure the restaurant is very basic, but my experiences have always been positive. They also have lots of GLUTEN FREE options. I really rate this restaurant

The service was extremely quick, I ordered Spring Rolls and Pad Thai with chicken( takeaway) , both dishes were delicious.

Seriously underrated restaurant, great food, sizeable portions and very reasonable prices. Most importantly, easy to get a table when other places are fully booked!

Have to be honest, I didn't want to come here because of the rating, but my wife had her heart set on Thai, and the only other place weren't taking walk ins. But I did, and now I'm glad I did. The owners have definitely taken the feedback on board. The place is freshly renovated (May 2021), the service was friendly, quick, and polite. Entree came about 5 minutes after ordering, and mains came about 2 minutes after we finished the entrees. The food was also fantastic, easily among the best I've had, even against what I had in Bangkok. Prices are reasonable, especially considering Kiama is a bit of a tourist town. Definitely recommend, even despite the Google rating.

The reviews on line were not great! However, We decided to go anyway and we were absolutely delighted with the food, flavours and service. Would definitely come come back when next in town.
The restaurant was busy, and any minimal delay in service was completely acceptable and understandable. Well done Jennifer!!

Just dropped in for some lunch with the wife, got the fried rice and she had the green curry. Damn my fried rice was to die for. Yep I know it’s boring as hell. But I’m so happy I don’t remember the last time it’s been better. The wife’s green curry was hot and full of flavour

I don't understand why there are bad reviews, the food was excellent, fresh, tasty, well presented, good size and served within 10 minutes. I could not fault this place, maybe they have a new chef??? Or new management??? The service was excellent. And I am from Sydney so yes, I know how to review a restaurant believe me.

Full of flavours!
Had chill basil chicken friend rice and oh my gosh it certainly lived to its name. Spicy and full of flavours. Lots of seating and beautiful view from top. Definitely will be back next time visiting Kiama.

Food was amazing. We ordered the chicken panang curry and the chilli basil stir fry. Ridiculously low prices, at which point you'd expect the dishes to be filled with vegetables. But no, they were delicious, and had plenty of chicken in it. To top it off, service was decently quick, and their waiter, Su, is incredibly friendly, incredibly funny, and very much adds to the dining experience. Terrific all round.

WHO CARES IF THEY ARE RUDE!! Nirand Thai has been serving the Kiama people for roughly 15 years. I remember they had their first restaurant over at the Jones’ Beach shops on level 2, then they levelled up to the main street of Kiama (where Harbour View Thai is now) and then finally to their massive restaurant location with the balcony. Their food is amazing and they would not have survived 15 years of the hospitality industry in a regional town if they couldn’t cook, that’s for sure. How about all you tourists that are leaving these one stars just give them a break, hey? Kiama supports Nirand Thai. If you don’t like it, go home. Cheers 👍🏼

One of Kiama's best kept secrets. This family run restaurant makes the most delicious vegan and vegetarian Thai food, generously full of fresh veggies and flavour - the 'breath of the wok' is better than I had in Thailand. English is a second language, so be patient, very spacious. I love this restaurant, it has an authentic, no fuss, charm.

Great position, Great food and fast turnaround. I have had many meals from Nirand Thai which have always tasted very fresh. Not only that they are cooked on the spot as you can see through the glass partition in the Restaurant. The food is always fresh and tasty. Yes they are a bit wooden in their customer service, but feel this is partly because of the language barrier as they are Authentic Thai people and Chefs NOT Chinese as someone else tried to make out. If you want decent Chinese food this is on the same street. I have been to the other 2 thai places in Kiama which are also good but find Nirand Thai the best.
