Kershaw Gardens Free Campground

Fantastic campsite in the middle of Rockhampton, park is great and well maintained. Toilets are a 7 min walk away and have outdoor showers. A pleasant surprise.

Great spot for a free camp, nice park next to it, nice walks. Shopping centre across the road, 2 night stay Max.

We stayed overnight and managed to get a spot when we arrived at 5pm. Quiet enough to sleep but you must be self sufficient as no toilet or showers or water etc. Very popular spot due to it being free.

Nice spot for overnight stay. Tents are not allowed here. Camper-van , motorhome and caravan only.

Surprisingly quiet for the amount of campers. Situated right at the Gardens. It's a lovely place and dog friendly on a lead. There is also a fenced dog park within the gardens. You need to be self contained. There is one van which appears to be permanent and has a very large dog on a wire run and is best given a wide berth.

Great spot provided by Council to stay free for 48 hrs fully self contained right in Rocky. Backs onto the beautiful Kershaw gardens and has Stocklands, a large shopping complex with cinemas and various restaurants and services within walking distance across the road. Had a great stay!

Great free campgrounds. Has a massive playground and cute little man made waterfall

Good, clean free-camp. Get there early. Be prepared for neighbours to be close.

Free camping place on the entry, it says there is no toilet but when u walk into the park it has toilet.

We spent 2 nights here even though it is all dirt we sat behind caravan on grassed area in gardens, good sealed walking tracks in gardens, very central to everything, you could walk to most everything you need, good afternoon with other camperd had a lovely time here

Great spot if you're passing through Rockhampton on the way somewhere else. Very basic, but also free! Your van/motorhome must be fully self-contained with gray and black-water tanks.

Great place to relax with family/friends! Nice water park for the kids too!

SELF CONTAINMENT are the words some people need to really learn about. This is not the only place that has these requirements to stay, if you don’t like it there are caravan parks available to you. This is our 2nd overnight stay in our fully self contained motorhome. It is a lovely spot and it is very popular. The Stockland shopping centre and its dozens of shops is so handy just across the road. There are plenty of other shops near here and if you need the Main Roads Dept it’s just down the road.
The Council personal are doing an Excellent job maintaining this for our benefit. Well done staff.

It’s always nice to find a clean, free campground conveniently located close to the shopping centre yet still surrounded by parkland and beautiful nature. We stayed here 48 hours while stocking up on some necessities. Plenty of space. Thank you Rockhampton!

Excellent I stay there regularly, good ground's to run the hound after their boring days travel but you need to be self contained or the Ranger will say a polite word to you

Stayed 2 nights, would definitely stay again when passing through. A little walk to the toilets and the are locked from 8pm
