Birdies Espresso

I don't usually go to cafes or drink coffee but a friend wanted to catch up and chew the fat. He suggested Birdies. I'm very pleasantly surprised by the setting. Inside has nice cosy decor and the outside setting is fresh and airy. As we sat and chatted I saw blue faced honey eaters, another small brown honey eater, a Pee Wee, and of course a few sparrows.
The husband and wife who own the shop are so friendly and their staff are really wonderful and helpful.
The food was amazing as was the de-caff coffee that I had.
I am also pleased with the very reasonable prices.
I highly recommend this Cafe to everyone.
It's so much nicer than the generic franchise coffee shops.
I'll certainly come back.

Wow just popped in for a light lunch as travelling through Rockhampton and surprised by the lovely ambience, excellent coffee and amazed at the loaded ham and cheese toastie!

Birdies espresso on Denham st it is.
Bread is so fresh and welll toasted and full of flavours. $13.9 for pretty much two normal banh mi size. I am not complaining, coz I can easily finish off my Bahn mi.
We only had half mayo in it

I had Matcha frape which was just right too. Not too heavy and not too sweet

Hubby had a Reuben toasted sandwich, it's really yummy too.

Second time here and the food and coffee was beautiful. Nice sitting area out the back in a garden area

Great little and quirky Cafe with lovely meals and equally great service. Great to see somewhere open for meals after 1:00pm on a Sunday in Rockhampton!! Will go back again. Good prices and food.

What a beautiful spot. Visited twice in 2 days while travelling through town. Great GF options, wonderful setting listening to the birds amongst the tropical plants. Service with lots of smiles and personality. Amazing coffee. Thank you...see you on our next trip north.

Well decorated cafe with good food. Was served by a newbie so wasn’t as good of customer experience with how she handled my order but was overall good.

Very relaxing, was a windy day, so we stayed inside, the garden area looked inviting and we will go again once the weather improves.

Not a big variety to choose from but enough for all taste's. Food well presented and well cooked. Can't fault it.

I love birdies!!! The “roast n rolls” are a delicious banh mi! Great coffee too. Very friendly and nice vibe. Would highly recommend this cafe for a relaxed brunch/lunch.

Love this place! The Vietnamese pork roll is simply delicious! And I love the ice macha frappe or the matcha latte. The interior is cool and serene with bird inspired decorations. The garden outside is leafy and lovely. There are some kids friendly toys, games and books which is a lovely touch. And some birds in a cage to keep the kids entertained. The staff are simply lovely. There is a peace in this place that is beautiful.

The only thing I would recommend is to have wifi available. The internet reception indoors is not the best (I've got Telstra) and outside is too hot in summer. There are even PowerPoints accessible indoors for laptops. If there is wifi, I would definitely return more frequently and have lunch while getting some work done.

Very glad we found this place before leaving Rocky. Staff were lovely and the food was great.

nice cafe and chill vibes, natural playing smooth gentle music along with the calm winds makes it one of the pleasant places to just sit around and enjoy.

Only unfortunate issue is if there is rain or bad weather, the shelter there might not provide the ideal coverage

Yesterday my husband, the two kids and I went to Birdies expresso for lunch.

It was our first time visiting and we’ll definitely be back.

What a gorgeous and relaxing atmosphere, the dining area at the back of the cafe was a beautiful surprise.

The food and drinks were served with a smile in the relaxing shade of trees… Excellent service.

The music was peaceful and the kids loved seeing the birds… We definitely enjoyed ourselves.

It’s a beautiful place to take some time out and to relax.

The ham, cheese and tomato toastie was delicious and my pink flamingo drink was refreshing, very nice.

My 3 year old son said yummy to his toastie and strawberry shake and my 9 year old daughter has asked to come back, she did not want to leave this place. She also loved her toastie and caramel shake.

My husband has Autism so he doesn’t like to go out, I encouraged him to go with us yesterday and let’s just say that he loves Birdies expresso. He loves how relaxing it is and how beautiful it is with all the trees around us and the peaceful music. I’m happy to report that he definitely wants to come back.
