It’s worth that 1000 calls within that one hour trying to get a booking!!

Such mastery, such skill, such freshness! You won’t be able to find any sashimi as fresh as this place! And very very decent pricing per person!

Highly recommended to try call 1000 times within an hour.

Chef Matsui san and Tomoko always has the freshest sashimi in the shop! There is often a great selection of tuna, chutoro and ootoro (fatty tuna) available and also other sashimi like salmon, king fish, etc. The platters are always made fresh to order but make sure you order at least 24 hours in advance! The sushi platters make a great lunch/dinner for special occasions and also the deluxe sashimi platters are so delicious and fresh! Highly recommend for good quality authentic Japanese sashimi/sushi.

If you're lucky enough to call in (after 300 tries in one sitting for me), you're in for a delightful and humble experience!

Be immersed in a unique home-style omakase. The Sushi Chef, Mr. Matsui is very open to questions so feel free to ask him anything 😊.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

The amazing thing about his artisan skills is the balance he creates. I personally don't like wasabi but there was a perfect tune between the homemade soy sauce, rice, seafood and wasabi that makes you feel like it shouldn't be eaten any other way 🎶

The best sashimi I’ve had. Preordered a standard omakase platter to go for picnic. It was so amazing! The sashimi was very fresh and had many types of fish inside the box.

Although it is extremely difficult to get a booking, this place is worth it! You can tell that the chef loves what he does and values each and every one of his guests. The servings of fish are proportionately larger than the rice itself.
What a culinary experience!
BYO drinks only and street parking only

Greatest shushi ever I tried in Sydney!! I would say if the the price doubled, I probably will be happy to accept it too. Go and get one through the sms, and you will not be disappointed.

A Symphony of Flavors and Artistry

Stepping into the realm of sushi excellence, this platter is nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. The selection is thoughtfully curated, featuring a tapestry of nigiri and maki that sing with freshness and quality. Each piece of sushi is a testament to the chef's precision and reverence for the craft; the tuna is rich and luscious, the salmon melts in your mouth, and the shrimp is sweet and tender. The tamago adds a delightful sweetness that complements the umami of the seafood.

The presentation is impeccable, with vibrant colors that beckon you to taste each individual work of art. The wasabi and pickled ginger are the perfect accompaniments, their sharpness cutting through the richness of the fish. The sushi rice deserves its own applause—seasoned to perfection, it's the ideal canvas for the array of toppings.

As for the seared selections, they introduce a smoky nuance that elevates the experience. This platter isn't just food; it's an exploration of textures and tastes that are both harmonious and exciting. It's clear that the restaurant doesn't just serve sushi; they serve experiences that linger long after the last piece is savored. A must-visit for anyone who cherishes the art of sushi. 5 stars.

Ordered a platter and the seafood was so fresh and honestly next level! Every piece was soft, delicious and just perfectly well balanced. Even the sushi I'm usually not a fan of, I really enjoyed! The scampi and otoro was the standout pieces for me.

I never got the chance to experience the omakase but the sashimi platters are amazing! There are many different types of sashimi included in the deluxe platter ($140) and it’s extremely fresh. Ordering via SMS for pick up was easy with Tomoko, I have ordered more than once and will definitely keep coming back!

Hands down, best takeaway sushi in town, not the usual takeaway sushi shop quality. Must order well in advance during festive seasons.

No luck with the omakase booking yet, still hoping to try it one day.

Great sushi, reasonable price and amazing attention to detail. Not your average takeaway meal, make sure you have some nice soy sauce to go with it.

Absolutely delicious deluxe platter, so fresh and a variety of sashimi on the platter. Good for entree for small group or meal for 3 people or so with other side dishes.

Absolutely fun night! The sushi was great! The chat with Matsui San (mainly Japanese) was fun and insightful! Portions were ridiculously generous! But more than anything, the whole night was a night to remember!

If you are looking for westernized sushi with a lot of mayonnaise and barbeque sauce you will not find if here.

Do not be deceived by how simple this place look. They actually serve a good quality food.

The sashimi was delicious, the wasabi used was the best I can find so far and the miso soup and rice was of excellent quality.

It's so wonderful to have something so simple yet very satisfying. Just by writing this review while remember my experience made me hungry.

Definitely will go back there in the future!

Best sashimi in Sydney, they get Blue Fin quite often. Alphonsino is amazing along with some other rare gems. The minu Salmon soup is also great.
