Coffee is consistently spot on and the injeolmi latte is a must try. Love the strawberry mochi and the various rice cakes are fresh and pair well with the beverages. Bingsu was refreshing, great natural flavour unlike other places which have artificial offerings. Service is always prompt and friendly, cafe is cozy and welcoming, a great place to sit and catch up with friends. My favourite cafe in Sydney.

Been here a couple of times, they have a wider range of rice cakes here compared to the new one at Eastwood. Bingsu (snowflake shaved ice dessert) is good, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best. Rice cake is indeed very good, shaved ice is above average but not mind blowing. Used to be $15 for the bingsoo but steadily increased to about $18 now. 5% discount if you pay by cash above $25.

Their greentea bingsoo was soo yum.
Though I only clicked the picture of Injulmi bingsoo, the greentea ones really good.
Recommend going for the greentea one if you are a matcha lover!

Delicious. My friends love the matcha but my favourite is the mixed fruit. I've been here many times and it's always great.

Best bingsu I have ever had in Sydney as it wasn't overly deadly sweet like a lot of other places and the fresh mochi is made in house which makes the world of a difference. Definitely worth paying an extra $4 for extra mochi! A lot of other places use pre packaged tiny bits of mochi as a side, but I'm so glad this place makes their own rice cakes and mochi! Absolutely delicious and worth coming back for!

Anyone else reckon ice desserts taste better when it's cold? 🤣 Maybe it's that that they don't melt as quick as in the summer. This is bingsoo, a Korean shaved ice dessert which is usually topped with the likes of condensed milk, red bean or fruit. My favourite bingsoo currently is at Siroo Rice Cake, a small cafe in West Ryde which is pretty well-known in the Korean community for their rice cakes (as the name might suggest).
Actually, I hear that it's the very first shop in Sydney to make and sell Korean rice cakes in-house! When you walk in, there's a table full of rice cakes in different colours, shapes and flavours. All are baked fresh every morning and sold throughout the day.
But it's the bingsoo we're here for. You can order strawberry, coffee, red bean or matcha green tea flavour. Had to opt for the latter because matcha stays undefeated (don't @ me 😝). It's unlike other bingsoo in Sydney. The shaved ice is so, so soft and powdery. On a close up look you can see all of the thin ice strands, so very delicate and fine. It's topped with a scoop of ice cream on a bed of red bean, a drizzle of condensed milk, and several fresh pieces of rice cake that are super soft and chewy. The green tea flavour lives well throughout the bingsoo, and it really is a perfect 'not too sweet' ice dessert!
You can probably share a small size between 2-3 people by the way so it's priced accordingly.

UPDATE 18/07/2022 - finally tried green tea snowflake shaved ice topped with matcha powder, some ricecake pieces and a scoop of green tea ice cream. Ordered a small size good enough for 2 people to share. It remained icy till I finished it and was better than ordinary shaved ice.

Indeed, Siroo is the first ever rice cake speciality Cafe perhaps in Australa. Siroo offers a good selection of bite size rice cakes. If you are not into sweets, but enjoy desert, you may have found your place. I will return for their shaved ice before the summer ends. One last thing is you can order a rice cake CAKE (I think one day in advance?) for birthdays and special events!

I tried the rice cake and strawberry mochi here and they both has a perfect texture and not overly sweet. I did see a lot of people order their bingsu which looked massive and delicious. Will need to come back to try that.

I love Siroo, it's a little slice of home. It's a thriving community hub with lots of locals coming in regularly. Best rice cakes in Sydney, I will always stop by and pick some up if I'm in town. Great coffee too.

As a Korean who grew up Australian, I had a real ratatouile moment eating these rice cakes. I haven't had rice cakes this fresh since being dragged around in markets in Busan as a child. Soft, chewy, fresh, and delicious.

Came here for some late night bingsoo and was not disappointed. The cafe has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff are friendly. The service was quick and the Cafe decor was relaxed and comfortable. The bingsoo was appropriately priced and tasted amazing. Extra points for the rice cakes that were in the Bingsoo

Best bingsu place in Sydney hands down! The shaved ice/snow was so fine and delicate, like delicious fluff in your mouth. They also serve it some special bowl with insulation sorcery so the snowy ice stays fluffy and un-melted the entire time you eat it - and it was so good that it didn't last very long anyway! Would definitely come back to try the other flavours!

This place is a must try :) Been there a handful of times already and I really can't find any complaints.

The rice cakes taste authentic and fresh (there's a huge variety) and the staff are always friendly with a warm smile! Coffee is great quality, though I usually only order the mocha.

I can already see myself being a regular customer. Would definitely recommend!

Came here and had the bingsu.
This place is a quiet but pretty popular place amongst the locals. They sell rice cakes and I think a lot of people come for those, but I can’t comment on that as I didn’t try them.

We got the small strawberry bingsu for $15. The other flavours included red bean, matcha, and coffee. The bingsu was quite large in my opinion. It was probably one of the best bingsu’s I’ve tried (only had 4-5) and was also really well presented. The addition of the rice cake to the bingsu was also very nice! Highly recommend :)

I LOVE THIS PLACE! The coffee matches my palette, good service and so many types of rice cakes! Definitely try the shaved ice. The milky shaved ice with chewy rice cakes are perfect together, not to mention the red bean paste is delicious.
The big cylindrical rice cakes were delicious, we made corn dogs with it.
The big mochis and injeolmi are my favourite. Will definitely be back. I'm hoping Siroo can add more desserts/bingsu options :)

Highly recommend their red bean bingsu, their large size is huge and could definitely feed up to a group of 6.

I wouldn't say it's the best in Sydney but it's still very tasty. Remember that the bingsu will be twice the height of the cup; the small size was enough for the two of us.

Usually come here for dessert. Recommend their bingsu and rice cakes. They use quality ingredients and everything tastes home made. Place is also clean and spacious
