Hanok Korean BBQ Shellharbour

We tried the buffet dinner. Food was nice and above average. The premium wagyu beef was wonderful! Comfy and not so crowded environment was also a credit. Waitress was a bit busy but service was good. Recommended for those meat lovers in Korean style.

The food here is really nice, the wagu plate was really good meat. The soup was really tasty as were the noodles, staff her even managed to fit us in as a walk in on Mother's day.

Where do I start, we went there for lunch and it was absolutely amazing, the food was really tasty, the food was really fresh and the service was absolutely first class, they even explained to us how to do the food eating Korean style and how they put their different foods together and talk about an absolutely explosive flavour taste, one of the best meals I’ve ever had and I will definitely be back, I can’t rave enough about these guys if there was 10 stars I would give them 10 stars!!! And finally the pricing was really reasonable and the $89 couples plate was great value and we were both nice and full when we finished it, absolutely worth a visit, one of the most tasty meals I’ve ever had! A++++

Been a while since my first visit/review and I have to say this place has only gotten better.
Few meals in the Illawarra can beat coming here with friends, seafood pancake to share, spicy beef soup with rice and some bbq meats.

As a Korean who grew up on the good stuff, I can definitely say this place is a gem.

I highly recommend.
High quality of meat, especially wagyu, served. It was full of joy during the dinner.
The wagyu meat was so soft and juicy and melted in my mouth.
All the various side dishes and fresh salad with chef’s secret sauces were great. It also has the nice lake view and Korean traditional house concept interior. I felt all staff put lots of effort for the every single thing and is friendly. Staff will cook for you if you are not used to do this table BBQ. Most of all, the taste is on top of the other Korean bbq restaurants.

A great place to eat out and experience tasty Korean food either lunchtime or dinner. A good selection of food and meals. A friendly greeting at the counter by a smiling and cheerful young lady who quickly walked us to our table, we ordered our food and we didn't wait long for our meals to be delivered to our table. Compliments to the diligent and hardworking young lady/wait-staff as well as the kitchen staff for preparing our meal.

Very authentic and well priced Korean experience I've come across in the illawarra/shellharbour region. The menu is filled with extensive options of korean food experiences ranging from soups (kimchi, soybean paste), entrees (pancakes, dumplings), noodles, side dishes and all the popular bbq meat varieties (beef, pork, seafood). We had the Hanok platter which was more than enough for 5-6 of us (pictured).

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. Food is so delicious and all wagyu beef are fresh and for their prices it’s 100% worth it!

As the regular customer, I witnessed what s happening and I have to defend for the young gentleman and the reputation of the restaurant. The young gentleman was nice and polite when talking with the lady and take her feedback, they were at the front and not handling the food at all, the lady was definitely lying. What she wants just the discount she got it straight away. This restaurant always provides warm and thoughtful service to the customers, the young gentleman as the chef always comes out from the kitchen greeting the customer. He is nice, calm and kind. Also the food, especially the meat quality is fresh and high standard. Highly recommended to everyone.

Two friends recommended this restaurant and we came here for the renowned BBQ buffet tonight. The menu is comprehensive and features lots of choices (for either meatlover or vegetarian) on BBQ varieties and cooked dishes/snacks from the kitchen. All were presented in a beautiful way and they just tasted so good! The staff are super friendly and the service is excellent! It is BYO. Although I personally would have preferred red wine to match with the yummy wagyu scotch fillet here, we picked the Korean beer which turned out to be a very pleasant choice too. The location is good and the environment is great for either families or group of friends! Highly recommended. Will go there again for sure.

Amazing and friendly service! I became a regular and have only been treated with delicious, quality food and Korean drinks. 10/10 go to restaurant. Slightly pricey, however the food is completely worth it! Wagyu, marinated meats and flavourful vegetable dishes. Seriously recommend. 🔥🔥

Ordered the Hanok Platter and I was not disappointed! The friendly, warm service was beyond anything I have experienced at many restaurants in the area. The owner/ chef went above and beyond for us - even making free meals for the kids! truly amazing food and customer service - would recommend to anyone !

We often go to Hanok for bbq, meat is really good quality. They used to go down quality before around 3 -4 months ago when we tried but now very good quality. When they are busy service a bit slow depends on staff who's working but usually very kind and nice customer service.
Korean soup and side menu taste good. And today we did take away beef bean paste soup and spicy rice cake, it was really 👌 awesome.

Our first time here tonight and the customer service was amazing from the moment. Before we even walked in, the owner approached us and welcomed us inside. He helped us with the menu and we went with exactly what he recommended. We were very impressed with the service and quality of the wagu. Will will be back!

Great services with lovely staffs. Especially the young waiter who is very nice and délégant boy. The menu is well set and price is reasonable. Also the bonus is the view. Highly recommend this place !
