I have had a lot of experience with clinical psychologists, counsellors, and psychiatrists over the past 15 years.
Building a genuine and understanding relationship with any professional in this field has often been barely tolerable (at best), so I can confidently say that Peter is the only clinical psychologist I would recommend to anyone I care about. His approach is consistent, caring, and attentive, and he always brings new skills or research to the session when appropriate. I have never felt uncomfortable or worried about voicing my concerns and priorities in sessions with Peter.
I also want to mention that Toni is the only receptionist & office manager I have come across in any psych/medical office that is genuinely considerate, professional, approachable and generous with her time.

Peter is very knowledgeable, personable and reassuring. He is good at explaining complex ideas and giving practical tips to apply in daily life. I have found his sessions very useful. And his receptionist Toni is lovely and so helpful too. Thank you!

I saw Dr Peter Walker for a couple of years after a serious car accident.

I tried to find someone for awhile and found it impossible to meet doctors I thought were both smart and caring enough to properly assist someone with traumatic injuries.

I finally found that with Dr Walker. Even when I had insurance issues nothing was ever a problem.

Peter Walker and Associates was a big part of my recovery and my wellbeing.

I would honestly recommend them to anyone I knew/ cared about that needed assistance.

Peter helped me through a very tough period some years ago with great success.

Small practice, I had good experiences after a very long search for a stable I was confident in.

Probably a belated review, but now seemed an appropriate time to write one as I now have a more detailed picture of what has gone on for me. I saw Dr Nisha Sethi back in 2013 due to issues with anxiety, and because I needed someone for clinical supervision (I was on my last social work placement at the time and my placement supervisor was taking a lot of sick leave). I specifically wanted social feedback, as this is something I always struggled with i.e. social challenges. I broached the subject of Autism Spectrum Conditions, as I recognised myself in the female profile after doing research for the organisation I had my placement at.

Dr Sethi's response/reaction wasn't very helpful and she denied the possibility that I could have this condition. I have been working in mental health for some time now and I know that this is a no-no, as it is quite close-minded and not helpful (it creates barriers). This is particularly true of individuals who have experienced a lot of invalidation through life and have had more complex experiences (e.g. accumulative stressors and complex trauma).

It would have been helpful if Dr Sethi had approached the situation with a bit more curiosity and explored the reason why I considered Autism. She could have even supported the idea that I could get tested elsewhere to rule things out. Autism is not one of her areas of expertise after all (perhaps she does better in the areas she does specialise in). I did not return after that appointment.

So, the point I am trying to get at is this... I underwent two tests with two different clinicians specialising in diagnosing Autism in adults (+ women) and it was confirmed that I DO have Autism. I also underwent further testing recently and completed a comprehensive cognitive assessment. I still have a few more tests to complete. It turns out that on top of Autism I also have sensory processing disorder, and what is called 2E (twice exceptional, gifted person with a learning disability). Wow, imagine that! There were issues under my 'presenting' issues that have always been overlooked (the simplest explanation is the right explanation be damned in this instance).

Peter is more suited to dealings with the well to do eastern suburbs house wives. For a venting session of triviality head here. For a serious practitioner look elsewhere.
