Mercury is 1.2 km from the main dome at Siding Spring. It is the first planet billboard you will see as you drive down Observatory Road when you leave the top of the mountain.

This is an interesting scaled solar system. Worth stopping when you see them travelling from Siding Springs to Dubbo. We stopped at all of them. There is no warning that you are getting close.

Best to check if open before attempting a visit. No vans or trailers. I can't imagine someone cycling there.

It's fine, but smaller than I expected. No real atmosphere to speak of, and quite rocky.
