Great Southern Bank

I have a Motor vehicle insurance from GSB, Offered by Nilesh from the Canberra CIVIC branch, its such a wonderful product and the claims system is so smooth an efficient. Thanks Nilesh for offering such a lovely product, I am moving all my other incurrences, bank accounts to GSB shortly...

The staff are super friendly and helpful. They were able to offer me a really good deal for banking, I now get no fee banking and way better interest than I was getting with the Big 4. Would highly recommend people come in and join the Credit Union.

Dreadful shameful even. Absolutely hopeless, everything is public in the Ainslie Avenue branch, no privacy whatsoever, I hate going there. The terrible staff kept trying to sell me stuff every single time I phoned or went in, then seemed surprised when I asked them to stop. They reluctantly added me to some list of people who don’t want to buy insurance or a car loan when going to their ‘bank’. The final straw was having my card stopped whilst overseas. I have tried 15 times to phone the pathetic ‘fraud department’ (this is back office for a number of banks NOT just this one). The wait is over 40 minutes despite them being opened 24 hours a day and me phoning at all hours. I’m closing my account. I gave you warning to stop treating me like this when I removed a huge sum of money it seems you don’t give a toss about me. Shame on you! CUA was lovely to deal with, god only knows where these people learned about customer service. I hope the ‘great’ southern bank closes down really soon.
