A great camp ground, with a lot of sites might be a little close during busy times. Very clean facilities, modern drop toilets as well as flushing in the shower block. Beautiful night skies.
Suitable for tents to caravans with some powered sites.
Lots of wildlife.

Loved camp blackman number 2.. powered sites, shady and phone reception, all walks close by.. a bit of a walk to showers or toilets but would rate the campgrounds 10 out of 10...

We made it back, unusually hot weather the weekend we arrived over school holidays. Remote walks and campsites closed which were annoying.

We did a few local walks around the Wilderness Trail around the Gorge which was scenic.

Night's are great for taking in the Milky Way. Even hand held exposures on the iPhone were impressive.

Then the storm hit and we were rewarded with spectacular sunset colours.

Showers were hot and cold on a cycle still. Slightly surprising with the contrast in temperatures.

Wendy and the staff at the visitor centre were most helpful.

Plenty of space, warm showers, Flushing toilets - Luxury camping, ideal Basecamp. After the rain there's been plenty of wildlife including bugs.

The weather is warming up so comes the flies and mozzies at night.

Fire trails were open for cycling and hiking yet overgrown in some areas and we ended up with 4 flat tyres on Tara Fire trail. Something in the deep grass claimed both our bikes. They are in need of some maintenance.

Plenty of Bindis on the walks near the campsite.

Can't wait to get back again for longer

Amazing campsite with lovely views of the sky. The sky was very clear and stars could be seen easily. In the morning kangaroos can also be seen.

The ground was slightly harder in comparison to other camp sites, it was a bit difficult to set up tents, struggled a little bit trying to stake the tent pegs due to how hard the ground was.

Toilets were easily accessible and very clean as well.

A beautiful camping spot with quite an amazing view. We stayed in Blackman 1, spot 1. Close to the amenities block. The site is wood chipped and large and separate space to park the car.

Amenities are good, hot showers are a bonus. Good flushing loos. No soap to wash hands so bring all you need.

BBQ area is sufficient, no lighting which I guess is due to the fact that it's a star gazing park so need to keep the illuminations down, so you'll need a light for cooking. Liked that they had regular waste bins and recycling bins

Wonderful to wake to the roos roaming the grassy areas. Overall a rather serene stay with gorgeous views and all you need for a basic stay.

We stayed in Site 6 which was quite open with great views of the sky and split rock. It's a great place to camp but very busy on the long weekend we went. Some of the toilets ran out of toilet paper before they got restocked the next day and if you enter a shower straight after someone it won't be hot right away due to the timer.

Very spaced out sites though so never felt like we surrounded by people. Will definitely go again.

The amenities are so helpful for the extreme weather conditions. It gets cleaned everyday in the morning. It has also got hot shower, how good is that!!
The location is perfect if you want to see some dark sky and stars. Please make sure to carry red lights to avoid light pollution as this camp is best for stargazing and astrophotography.
If you are travelling in winter, please make sure to stay warm and carry enough essentials and clothing

The night sky is literally out of this world. We stayed for 3 nights and 1st night was horrible. We reached after sunset, it was raining and we barely setup camp. We were attacked by thousands of bugs and spiders, attracted by white lights. We left somethings outside and it was a crazy thunderstorm in the morning, everything got wet. We booked a powered site and powered went away in the morning for 5 6 hours. Lessons learnt, always reach witminsqah atleast 2 3 hours of sunlight remaining, use red or orange lights, be ready for bug attack and plan for power outage if you booked a powersite.
Next days were crazy good, there's a town 30mins far, Coonabarabran. Its has everything, so you are pretty comfortable while camping too

Excellent campsites, clean and well presented amenities. Plenty of space for everyone. Clean dump point and plenty of fresh water some drinkable some nonpotable (must be boiled first). Amazing views of the surrounding park and excellent night star gazing.

Camping with powered and non powered sites, camping beside your vehicle. Both pit and flush toilets, Hot and cold showers and laundry available. The thing with showers - Its touch sensored and time limited. They only last for 5 minutes and then gets little tricky. once it stops, will have to wait for sometime before the next round of shower starts.
Great stargazing experience. Nice dark sky. It's better to plan according to the moon cycle so that you get to see most of it.
Got to see many kangaroos, they come near your tent. Also little birds come chirping by, but careful with them. If you start feeding they attract more of them flock around and will never go away from your tent location😁
Good for long walks, the boulders around camp gives it a great view and you can just keep on walking viewing the scenic beauty all around. Mobile network also available.

The place to stay in the bungles. Choose a site on the most southern side of blackman 1 site. This will give you open sky views and amazing sunrise and sunset views of split rock right from your campsite. Showers and toilets are great and campsite is well maintained.

Great place to rest before and after the Grand High tops walk! Nice aspects either looking towards the creek or over the Warrumungles. Hot showers, gas BBQs (bring your matches), gas rings good if you've got your own pots etc. Washing up room also. Did some fantastic star gazing too. Kangaroos roaming, creek trickling, fireplaces with BBQ plates(byo wood) $16 per night for two, plus $16 for two days park entrance (all booked online). Will be back for sure!

Great campsite. Even better for first time campers as there are flush toilets, 5 minute hot showers, bbq and gas stove cooking areas and drinking water available at camp Blackman 1. All these amenities for the very low price of about 16 bucks a night! All the facilities are surprisingly very clean (although the camp was barely half occupied when I was there so I’m not sure how well it would cope in more crowded situations). Best to stay here if you want to thoroughly immerse yourself in the Warrungbungles national park since the closest place to stay is 30 mins out. So if you want to catch the sunrises or sunsets, this is the place to be. Best views are at camp sites 1-10 but they are more exposed and the ground is quite rough and pebbly. The other camps have less views but are more grassy.

Great camp ground, especially if you are not use to camping. Visitor's centre staff were very helpful with maps and information on walks. The stars at night were also amazing

One of the best campsites in all of Australia situated in a little known national park (yet my personal favorite in NSW). Lots of nice and clean amenities and lots of wildlife, especially kangaroos often grazing on the campsite. You could even wake up in the morning to find them right outside your tent or car. Definitely a must if you are in the area.
